Quoted from mrgone:I am happy that mm Is being remade.
I'm not a buyer and I don't own an original.
My hope is that more will be on route and more people can enjoy them.
With that said, I will say this. The announcement at expo over shadowed everything else. All the other great things in the sport/ hobby got kicked to the curb. The Olympus game, it looks amazing and I want to know more about it. Spooky, even Star Trek got derailed by mmr. People, if you want pinball to continue to grow and prosper then putting all your hopes into a remake of a 20 year old game is the wrong way to go. Look ahead. If you keep looking back you will miss lots of good stuff and you will end up crashing into something.
Yeah, "Look ahead" like Stern has been doing since they've had a monopoly, right? They did nothing to innovate AT ALL. MM is the same basic machine that Stern has been producing except for one detail, 16 years later it's still coveted by more people than any Stern machine.
There weren't enough MM's built to satisfy the current demand. PPS identified that(quite obvious) and they are filling the void. It's frigging hilarious and sad at the same time that there is anyone in this hobby that thinks that giving people what they want is "the wrong way to go". Unbelievable.
