Quoted from Purdue:

Here’s mine. Its definitely a hybrid and maybe the only of its kind.
Everyone told us an open concept theater/bar/arcade/ entertaining room wouldn’t work. But guess what? It’s flipping perfect!

I have always had a Yamaha receiver and mostly Klipsch speakers. My current setup is a an expensive Yamaha atmos receiver, an emotiva amp, Klipsch RF speakers and sub. I like my system but...

recently I was bored, so I went to Best buy and bought a Sonos 5.1 system just to see what all the hype is about.. man it blows my system out of the water! The sound quality is crisp, I can hear things that I never heard before, music during movies is booming! Im amazed!

I’ve been running a Yamaha (without atmos) for years. I bought it right before that feature was added. Mine is in a 7.1 setup with Polk audio speakers and in really happy with it now. I don’t think atmos is enough of an experience to justify buying a new amp.

But I have also heard good things about Sonos systems. I wonder if it’s worth the jump for me

This is all I need

I would encourage you to try it, thats what I did, my plan was to return it if the hype wasn't there.. the hype is there man. Im actually pretty amazed by it, but I got the whole system : ARC bar, gen3 woofer and 2 300 series for surrounds.
My Klipsch huge speaker system (and Im a Klipsch fan) seems muffled compared to this!

That's the route I am leaning towards these days. I really don't actually care about rear surround speakers any more - I just want good sound upfront with a sub.

Ok well after some more time , the Sonos system is great but some
Movies sound dull not sure why . Then I realized my klipsch 5.1 was setup wrong hehe , back to the old system !

When I saw your post, I was thinking something like that. I had a Yamaha and Klipsch 5.1 setup and it was absolutely awesome. Sadly that system is in my last house that was sold. Now I have a Denon with a 5.1 Monoprice speaker setup. I haven't tested it yet at high volumes, but it seems good so far. I spent most of the money on the new setup on a 77" LG C3 OLED.

I didn’t know this thread was still around. I’ve made some equipment changes. Out with the Epson 5040UB and in with the 5050UB. I also upgraded my receiver to the Sony STR-AZ5000ES last weekend.
