Quoted from PanzerFreak:

If it wasn't for the way JJP funded WOZ there would be no JJP. Jack himself said a bank wouldn't give him a loan as banks didn't think a new pinball company could survive in this day and age. Jack went to operators and home collectors with basically a Kickstarter funding idea and there's nothing wrong with that. After seeing what JJP has done with WOZ I don't mind doing a preorder again for TH knowing that they can deliver. Also, the payment plan helps a lot when paying for a $7.5k pin.
It took 2-3 years to start a new pinball company from scratch, to design new parts, develop new processes, create an assembly line from scratch, open a factory and probably a thousand other things we haven't even thought of. In that time JJP started building WOZ and now that the foundation is built TH will come along much quicker.

You are likely right. I for sure want more pinball companies out there. Competition helps us all. I also want TH to be an awesome game.

But that should have been for the first pin only. To get the company started and off the ground. But not as an ongoing business model. It also doesn't feel right to be taking multiple deposits on a second game, with so many pre-ordered WOZ's still undelivered. Why should the consumers bear all the risks of the company? Now that the company is off the ground, he should be able to get a loan from a bank if needed. No need to pimp your clients, other than it makes him more money and puts all the risk on other people.

THLE #1200. Looks like I'm at the back of the line

#105 10 years ago

I'll be waiting to see game play first before I lay my hard cash down. I do know that my next purchase will be either a Woz or Hobbit though. Here is one sexy Hobbit appearing in the second Hobbit movie : The Desolation of Smaug

I'm near the back of the line for WOZ ECLE. Don't be too discouraged, there are some advantages being back there. You get a de-bugged pin with more complete software. That being said, I honestly wish I had my machine already.

I do think the Hobbit experience will be quicker and smoother as so much has already been set up with WOZ. JJP is established and has figured out who the reliable suppliers are. It should go much quicker now.

I got mine the first month. It was exciting, but not quite ready for prime time. There were issues that you will not have to face and that will be a good thing. To their credit, JJP was very responsive and helpful to any issues I had.

Confused. I thought they were only making 1500 LEs, and Standard pricing hasn't been announced yet.

Order number has nothing to do with game number.

#117 10 years ago

The Hobbit is mine if it's any good. MMR is mine if they build it right. What else you got...

#118 10 years ago

#130 10 years ago

#131 10 years ago

Do any of you know if JJP is close to selling out to the public and distributors? I understand that the various distributors may still have games. I'm not concerned; I was a day 1 order. Just wondering how the LEs are selling.

#132 10 years ago

#903

Preordered just a couple days ago.

When I was at the factory a couple weeks ago, Jen told me they were down to a hundred or so left. I thought it might be a ploy to sell me one, but I don't think so. There really weren't many numbers left, and the lowest one they had was in the 600s (and nothing in the 700s). I picked 828. But please don't tell my wife. I really like being married...

#1089 ordered on 12/04/12. should have found a lower numbered from a distributor instead of buying direct

#135 10 years ago

does anyone know what the current output of games per day jjp puts out so I can do some math on when I might get mine?

#136 10 years ago

Based on the LE deliveries it seems like less than 5 per day.

#137 10 years ago

This topic might explode when the new movie is out and jjp is allowed and willing to share new videos and pics.

Great pin year to come.
