I wonder if any guitar players here have tackled the necromancer by Rush. Love to hear it!

Any recommendations on a electric guitar for someone with Not the longest chubby fingers? I struggle with certain notes and improvise.
I am looking for a high end guitar and would appreciate suggestions.

Quoted from radial_head:

Before I had to get a full time job (long story, involves that drunk driver) I used to tour full time playing "lead guitar" with Lina Tullgren. This was before I was as deep into my pinball journey as I am now. Sometimes I think of cities I used to play in that now have collections that I'm in love with and just had no idea they were there. But then again, we wouldn't have gotten anywhere on time if I had been.
"C'mon guys! I just have to play this Spirit just ONE MORE TIME"
Here is us playing on Audiotree a while back. Not our best performance but hey, it looks nice. If you're a pedalgazer, you might have something to look at too...

Thank you for posting ..my wife and .I really enjoyed the video and song

The guess Who edged Rush and Neil young for Canada
We Haven’t discussed Britain yet that will be the toughest

#239 1 year ago
Quoted from Powdevil:

No way in hell that the Guess Who beats out Neil Young.. No Way.

Neil Young over The band ? ..curious your thoughts on this And where Brian Adams would fit.

#242 1 year ago

Cinnamon girl is our wedding song ..and in these times I “feel like The Loner” ..but it’s hard to knock the Guess Who out of the top 3 and decide where the Band fits in VS Rush. Interchangeable top 3 regardless but 1 of the 4 would get knocked out.

#243 1 year ago
Quoted from Powdevil:

Neil Young is pushing Dylan as the greatest songwriter of all time, and he definitely is the most prolific. He is also a great guitarist (something Dylan isn’t), who handles either acoustic or electric with equal aplomb. Some criticize his squeaky singing voice but it has soul. I think I’d put Neil Young over Guess Who, BTO and Brian Adams combined. With over 50 albums out, check out his field of work and versatility covering folk, rock and roll and country.. with forays into all sorts of other genres.

Don’t forget Gordon Lightfoot , an excellent example would be Canadian railroad trilogy , simple songs like did she mention my name or the haunting wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald.

Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

Dang, we are working on Subdivisions right now, which is decidedly NOT a hard guitar song, but I play keys and sing in the band as well, so it's an octopus challenge. Our bassist keeps bringing up Necromancer. I'd love to do that!

Necromancer yet?

#336 1 year ago

I do ,,,a song dedicated to the covid front line ...it might work
Can you pm email me an address I can attach the song to?

#338 1 year ago

Cheers!

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Heavy guitars just make me feel manly.
And sore.
I got a nice guitar wall going finally! Can’t believe my babe is letting me get away with this, but you just need some quality axes lording over the Dio Couch.
Two on the wall two on the floor! And I’m done buying guitars! I mean it this time!
I did try out a Gibson 335 but not my cup of tea.
