Quoted from littlecammi:

I've got one hand in my pocket . . . what's my other hand doing?
A) giving a high five
B) flicking a cigarette
C) giving a peace sign
D) playing the piano
E) hailing a taxi cab
F) all of the above

I don't really give a shit. I'm more interested in what that hand in your pocket is doing.

Quoted from jtgribble:

This is clearly not mine, but it's a pretty awesome Fender Custom Shop made from a Wizard machine.

I have pictures of that thing on my phone from the Fender room at Winter NAMM in 2019. It was really cool...but I'm pretty sure the guy didn't pay even close to $80k for that. Pisses me off when there are asshole flippers in any hobby that buy something that somebody who might have wanted for their personal collection just to make a profit. I hope he doesn't get even close to what he's asking.

Just get the Kemper Profiler and the pedal board and be done with it. Greatest guitar purchase ever...and you can truly sound like any guitarist you want to. Soundwise anyway. The talent is entirely up to you.

Has anybody here gotten one of those Firefly 338 guitars? They look incredible in spalted maple, and the reviews are off the charts. And all for under $200...IF you can get one on Amazon before they're sold out in under 5 minutes. Just wondering if anybody here has gotten one or played one. They're supposed to be able to compete with a Gibson hollow body, but I find that difficult to believe.

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Go into a good music store and tell the guy who you want to sound like and play some of the pedals they suggest.
I told the guy “David Gilmour” and I was happy with his suggestions.

Or get a Kemper Profiler.

Going to the Martin factory next week to choose my wood for a custom D-45 that probably won't be completed until late next year or early 2024. Anyone that's anywhere near Nazareth, PA owes it to themselves to go on the factory tour. I've done it twice and doing it a third time when I pick the guitar up. For me it was almost life-changing. A truly amazing process, and you really appreciate what a work of art each guitar is.

Quoted from vid1900:

You will love it.
Once you play guitar, you never have to get married to get laid

You do the way I play guitar. And for some, getting married is the antidote to getting laid.

Had to pick out some new wood for another custom D-45 to replace the first one. Don't ask.

Did you get a bit carried away?
[quoted image]

No...Martin made a bit of an oops on my first guitar so they have to redo it. They were pretty amazing about the whole thing, actually.

My situation right now...

Quoted from John-Floyd:

Boob - stunning Martins you have sir! Damn impressive! My current acoustic situation right now (Maple 6, Rosewood 6, Ovankol 12). Love my Taylor’s, but need a real deal Martin for ‘That’ sound. Considering adding a Martin HD-35 soon to honor my boy David Gilmour since my dealer was unable to secure one of his limited models for me a few years back (damn him!).
[quoted image]

Well...I see you're a Taylor guy. I've got a K14ce Builder's Edition hiding behind that doorframe that you can't see. Some may say my collection is excessive, especially since I really suck on guitar (I'm a piano player by birth), but for me it's the artistry of taking a tree--literally--and turning it into a functional piece of art. Sure, paintings are beautiful, but they just hang on a wall. A beautiful guitar is something you can use to bring joy to others with your own artistry.

Quoted from Frippertron:

Are you any good on that mandolin?

Nope. But I can play Losing My Religion, and that's good enough for me.
