Ok.
I’m super excited.
Backstory.
10 year old me, dreaming of growing up to become my idols like in Twisted Sister etc, nagged my father until he bought me a guitar.
We got this guitar for fair price which I remember/believe to was $150.
Ugly as a sin to be honest. But it was the definition of glam rock.
Well it hasn’t been in my possession for a long time.
When I was about 13 I traded it with my brother for an Xbox who in turn tripped over it while drunk (hence the broken pick guard) and later gave it to our then stepbrother.
Today I reached out to said previous stepbrother who actually had saved the guitar because, in his words, “It’s your guitar”.
He wanted nothing for it and forbid me to pay anything to get it back. He even delivered it to me.
It’s just as ugly as I remember it and I’m star struck by it. It’s so magnificently bad!
I love it. I love it so much!

Unsure but could this serial date it to ‘81?

Quoted from Guinnesstime:Love everything about this
So do I. My first guitar, got it when I was 10.
And I have another similar on the way.
Quoted from gorditas:Wow! Still has the stickers on the push pull pots. Must have been owned by Nigel Tufnel. Great looking guitar.
Yeah, I’m amazed by it myself!
Even the tiny little key to lock the hard case was still there!
It’s like it’s never been played nor used. A real time capsule.
And here am I, rocking in it in my underwear!
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:I believe that would be on my short list of perfect guitars too! Where did you find it?
I found on German EBay of all places.
And more ironic was that not only could he ship it to Sweden?m, he had a meeting booked in Stockholm, Sweden so we ended up doing a face to face deal. He brought it with him.
Quoted from Rdoyle1978:ha! Nicely done. You have got me going down the rabbit hole looking for an old pre-lawsuit Ibanez Destroyer I had years ago. They are $1500 on reverb now! But I found one!
Yeah I saw them and they were a lot easier to find than an A20 so I had a destroyed as a backup but I have never played one nor have any connections to one.
But they do look great! And they probably play absolutely fantastic.
So you found one, did you click on “buy”?
Had to grab som autumn pictures of my A20.
My gosh is she beautiful. Too bad the player doesn’t look this good

Quoted from Rdoyle1978:Yeah they are amazing, amazing guitars - and really inexpensive! I used to use a COSM modeling rig called the VG-8 and VG-99, and these plugged right in so I could do MIDI, regular guitar tones, or acoustic sounds. The high end ones still run in the thousands but their mid-priced line are very reasonable.
Quick google search and they look incredibly nice.
A shame to give them away but at the same time they could make someone else very happy. I envy whoever will be recieving such a stunning guitar from you.
