I am KJ, I’m Dutch, live in Belgium, I am Lyzanxia’s wife. We have a few furkids. I also love to draw comics, hence my avatar.
My aunt had a café when I was a small kid and my daddy, bless his soul, took me there to play some ball every month.
In 2003, hub was looking for a new hobby. Hub is 10 years younger than me, so he was not brought up with pinballs like me, as by then, they were gone. He wanted to, but was scared of not being able to fix it. I told him this was nonsense, as he was great at fixing computers (as a job) and my education in tech and chemistry would combine well in fixing them, which turned out to be true.
We made a pact though: hub fixes the technical stuff, me the art on a good day. If a difficult prob arises, there is the 2 of us to try and solve the matter. I can’t solder anymore, due to having MS, so no way I will work on print boards, for example. We like fixing a pinball as much as playing it, but we are not great at playing it. Having fun is the main idea.
Quoted from Squeakman:I think Quiddity tops you all though. Loves pinball and allows 6 pinball machines in her 995 sq. ft. house.
My bungalow is 1012 sqf and we have 11 pinballs in it, 12 can go in and more if we absolutely have to, but that will take some more sacrifice.
Will take pics of the gameroom in 3 weeks, when all pinballs are finished, as we are waiting for parts.
Quoted from HumanFemale:Are any of you ladies going to expo this year? I will be there.
I wished I could, but it's very costly to make a trip to there from Belgium. I hope to do so one day though.
I love to restore the artwork too. Here are some things I did in the past.
Fixing the current Congo vulcano.

Fixing the front of my previous Congo. I fixed the volcano too, by the way.

THe TAFg was dented, scraped, scratched, had holes, had black paint sprayed over all the corners and the artwork. It's not perfect, but it looks a lot better now. It got clearcoated too.

The SS is completely faded, like this.

One side done, clearcoated. No decals.

The entire corner at the leg of the MB was ruines, so I fixed it. This was our previous MB. I took a pic in an angle that it would be visible to see where the decal ended and the fix started, as you could almost not see the difference.

A friend's Rocky playfield needed help. This was really hard, as the entire playfield was crackled severely.
