Quoted from pezpunk:

this morning Tesla pushed an update to my car that unlocks more horsepower (kicking it up to around 770hp or so) and knocks the 0-60 down to 2.4 seconds and quarter mile to 10.6, supposedly.
this is the screen on the UI to enable it:

I love my Tesla P85D.. great daily driver for sure

I went to the track last month in my McLaren and someone brought a P100D there. It was pretty quick and was close to hanging w/ me for the first couple turns, then I would kill it in the straights. After that, he just disappeared. Apparently the car went into thermal protection halfway through the lap and reduced power by 50-70%. I can't imagine one day when they can do more then just 0-60mph sprints... the future of EV's looks good.. they just need to find a way to allow the battery discharge rate and inverters to not get too hot when driving it hard more then a minute or so.
