Quoted from jsyjay:Yep, 170bhp and 600kg should be fun!
That is AWESOME! My youngest just got a 2013 MINI, I'd prefer an original.
Quoted from EasternBloc:1968 Scout 800
Great find, I love the oldies but goodies!
NICE, last Jag in our family was 70s, and of typical for that gen, more time in the shop than on the road.
Hope things have changed!
Quoted from ralphwiggum:Not a lot of Studebakers floating around out there.
Saw a couple on American pickers a few years back. Someone had I think 3 or 4 of them.
Good eye crlush
Quoted from jayhawkai:Does anyone have experience making a diminished value claim?
Did one back in 2010ish.
The body shop gave me the number of a guy, I gave him my details, he examined the vehicle and charged me $300. He submitted his findings to the insurance company. Insurance payoff went up by $3000.
Let me add that I also had a 4" 3 ring binder of EVERY receipt for EVERY thing ever done to the vehicle including windshield wipers, tire rotations, fixed flat tires, touch up paint etc. Hard to argue with black and white facts.
Quoted from Rager170:I love the way they look, but if a sports car doesnt have a manual transmission, its a no buy for me.. Yes, I am one of those people haha.
Interesting read from about a year ago:
https://www.motortrend.com/news/porsche-911-manual-or-automatic/
Quoted from Rager170:Seen tons of articles like it before. Long story short, driving manual is a lot more fun, especially with a sports car. I dont care about being 0.60 seconds faster in a 0 - 60, but what I would be interested to see is if two people both are driving manual, who hits it faster. The other scenario is simply holding down the gas pedal.
Quoted from Darcy:Many of the Sports Cars that appear to have an automatic transmission. Might have a computer controlled manual transmission, with multiple disc clutch set ups. If the manufacture states that the transmission is an automatic, it will not be like the one in your grand dads Chevy, or Ford.
I have one of these 'automatic's, thanks to VW owning Porsche and the trickle down effect of engineering. While in my youth I loved my stick, my age and impatience has me in love with my DSG. Thanks to some creative tuning I can redline this thing just to the point of failure but w/o it. It's even got paddle shifters but I actually use the gear shifter in Sport mode when I want to drive it like I stole it, then flip it to D to sit in traffic. While mine is not nearly as quick as the PDK in the Porsche, it does just fine for the daily commuter race. It's so fun handling cars that are 2X what I paid and watching them in the rear view.
I'm not hating on the stick, just making a statement of opinion.
Given any budget, I'd buy back my old mans '63 356 for Sunday drives!
I will loath the day of the self driving reality.
Quoted from Rager170:If you arent pushing down on a clutch pedal and moving a shifter, its not a manual.
Hell in today's world it is also a handy anti-theft device!!
Quoted from psd4me:He has an r8, a3 and an r32 that I've done exhausts, brake and suspension upgrades on etc. I hate the dsg in all 3 of these cars. I would never own 1 after having the experience with these. Plus all the extra parts that can and do go bad. Just my experience. I know most people love them.
I had my DSG service done at 90K and am thinking whether or not it will need it at 180K, the wife has a DSG and I did NOT service it, 160K with no issues... maybe just lucky?
Quoted from psd4me:He has an r8, a3 and an r32
Are all these Quattros? Wonder if that is the difference?
Quoted from steve-o:Our '55 Nomad
You get all my up votes today! One of my dream rides.
Quoted from ralphwiggum:Meh.... It definitely looks like a Z series, but it looks like a stripped down version of what the Z series could be. It almost looks *too* minimalistic
I was thinking the same, I mean yes, looks like a Z but damn, almost nothing to the aesthetics of it. Is still a 'concept' though.
I've managed to see two new Supras and one new Vette, both are unmistakable!
The fastest "production" car I've never heard of.

316MPH!
Top: The new radio camouflage is complete. Doesn't quite completely mimic it's donor, but close enough that a casual observer might not be curious as to what hides beneath.
Middle: with all the "camo" removed aside from a thin strip of matte black vinyl... thus still masking the Kenwood DMX706S ever so slightly.
Bottom: last but not least, well, yea least, the factory head unit.
Only taken me 9 years for this mod.
Quoted from Meegis:Why not just upgrade to a factory unit that has NAV and all the updated stuff?
1) don't need nav, it's on my phone
2) need (prefer) 5 channel preamp out's
3) bluetooth on OEM was going bad
4) I just wanted this one.
Quoted from Phatchit:Just added a new one to the family
Be sure to show off your new family member in here:

Quoted from someotherguy:"GAS LOL"
TN gets 20% of its electricity from natural gas.
so their electricity does literally come from thin air.?!
Quoted from bob_e:the Fisker Karma had a solar panel in its roof and how did that work out ? (they went bankrupt)
About the only EVs I would currently endorse:
Buzz_6-1 (resized).jpgpasted_image (resized).pngQuoted from zombywoof:The MINI Cooper EV looks promising.
Hmm, have to show that to my youngest, he has a 2013 Mini now and loves it.
Got about half a tank of "the good stuff" yesterday, next week will be able to fill the whole thing.
Curious to see about performance.

20220504_174602 (resized).jpgThis sounds interesting:
https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/11/business/vw-scout-suv/index.html
Quoted from Strummy:40k miles and I can still make it shiiine
Man, I can't even think back to 40K.
Still cleans up nice for an older girl. Ok well the OUTSIDE cleans up nice, dash could use a wipe down.
Wanted to get the photo at 88 mph and 88F but things didn't cooperate.
Quoted from tjprice222:I have a 2012 Tiguan with APR Stage 1 and the red coil packs.
Yea stage 1 was done while mine still had paper plates, with the intake. Then after hitting a dear a couple years ago I had an Audi intercooler installed. Its got so much more power than my new to me 2020 A3.
I got the Audi so I could quit repairing the Jetta but with the oil cooler leaking I didn't get any solid leads on selling it so I figured I'd try and tackle the job myself.
I hope to report later this week it's back on the road.
Funny, my wife has a 2015 Tig, no tune and its been almost bullet proof aside from the typical intake de-carb done at 100K miles.
Do you do your own basic maintenance on your Tig?
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Swapping out a leaking oil cooler.
And, back on the road!
20230125_181751 (resized).jpgQuoted from Meegis:but why only the box, should have gone both pieces and had the back tube too
Bang for the buck didn't seem as measurable.
Back when I got it, the tunes and box was on special.
Quoted from pinmister:You have good taste, nothing like having some boom while driving
Just finished building my custom 10" box for the A3. Powered by a Kicker 46CXA8001T, I must say it sounds (and feels) great.
Bass knob uses an ebay sourced Audi mirror knob to appear "factory".
Quoted from Meegis:At what point do you consider yourself more into pins or more into cars?
Another cargument analysis.
Quoted from RyanStl:NOT mine. But it was so out there I felt compelled to take pics and share.
My step-dad used to say, when seeing things like that, I'm glad it's THEIRS.
Quoted from pinmister:I thought I would be able to pull a Ferris Bueller with his new ride and do some real driving. Well he had a device put in from State Farm that tracks the way he drives including acceleration and braking to save on insurance premiums.
I'm sorry, if one can afford a Tesla, don't skimp on the insurance and put their damn tracker in it.
One needs to drive a Tesla like one stole it!
My insurance co offered me one of these, (well four, we have four vehicles) they got a big NOPE from us. None of my drivers were interested in the discount by having another tracking device in their vehicle. The phone and the cars own black box is big brother enough.
Quoted from Steve_in_Escalon:My two favorite vehicles from SEMA last month. Obviously, neither are mine…
You think you hate it now, wait until you drive it.
Quoted from steve-o:…miss this pinhauler for sure.
Although not technically a COE, these adorn my desk as goals to work for. I would also take a Ford or Dodge COE from the same era, just sayin'.
20240126_072251 (resized).jpgSorry if this has been posted already but being a car thread...
