Did a quick search and didn't see one of these yet. 1967 Trabant 601S; the pride of East Germany. Won't hold a pin or win any races, but good cheap fun.

Quoted from VacFink:

I love these little eastern block cars, but my favorite will always be the Lada Niva. Think Yugo built like a tank, 4wd with farm tires on it. They can go anywhere.

I really appreciate the "What IS that?" factor. The price point on these cars isn't bad either; decent running examples are easily less than half the cost of a new pin.

jayhawkai - Nice Honda, I've got a 2000 S2000 myself. Who's the manufacturer of your hardtop?

New winter project. Hasn’t moved in over 35 years. Spent the first day scooping ratsh*t and removing dirtdauber nests.

Quoted from Atari_Daze:

International ?

Indeed, 1968 Scout 800. First layer of “patina” removed. Can’t believe those old military tires still hold air! Body is remarkably sound, though all seats, wires and rubber are shot.

Quoted from crlush:

What are your plans?

Blast and coat the frame, redo brakes and wiring harness. Bodywork and original paint color for the panels. Enough to preserve and bring her back, but no huge “restomod” plans. I checked, a pinball machine would have to ride with the tailgate down.

No springtime rides for the Scout, but progressing along steadily.

Anybody get in on the new Defenders? Loving it so far as the new family truckster.

Quoted from Roostking:

steel wheels are not overly popular with the off roading crowd, at least not here in AZ

Steel wheels are a solid choice on-road here in LA with our road quality.

Quoted from jwilson:

Out for burgers in the 911 I’ve called “Zoidberg” because it has a “Lobster Red” interior.

Wow, great photo! On the second glance, I noticed you can even see the driver’s (you, I assume) face. I’d have it on a wall. Beautiful car and fantastic pic!

Quoted from Strummy:

Is that a Trabant too?

Quoted from ViperTim:

Oh no, it’s not that cool.

Love my Trabi!

Quoted from Strummy:

This Trabant has been parking here for at least 20 years

Mine came from Kladno; Prost, er…Na zdraví!
