Wow...just shattered my illusion!

Nice Buick. Hood ornament on a GN? There was rumor of a new GN, but I think it was abandoned.........

The car is actually a T-Type with the blackout option. That had the emblem originally.

Hey everybody. I got new mufflers today. How do you like them?

Nice Gran Marquis, guessing there's zero drone at highway speeds. If you haven't already, recommend some dumps at the bottom to clear out acorns and cooked rodents?

If I had that car, I'd never leave 1st gear and pour in a jar of Orville Reddenbocker in each side and hit the strip!

Kudos for something fun.

If I did that I would have to change the big decal in the back window to "squirrel feeder". I can't do that, I spent all my money on the awesome pipes.

Thats great. I actually got that off the "people of Walmart"

Oh tilt, I got the freak in sheet today. Thanks again. I will have to go to Walmart and get a frame so I can hang it.

These two jags belong to a collector friend. He lent them to me for a weekend last year, and I'm still grinning. The E-Type sure looked good parked amongst my pins. The D-Type was understably way more fun to drive.

Ah the days when a hood was strong enough to stand on!

Not only that but you can stand inside the engine compartment to work on it.

And the back seat was big enough to...

Back home today after spending a couple months with my friendly mechanic.
Oil leaks fixed, water leaks fixed, transmission working like it should.
For the first time I cruised the interstate at 80 with a working overdrive! Sweet!

This is awesome. My grandfather had one of these that he bought new. it was so cool. His was all red and one day in 1984 he traded it in for a Mazda RX-7 - I thought my grandmother was going to kill him. LOL

Cool ride and thanks for the pics, they really took me back!

1969 Pontiac GTO. I've owned it for 26 years. 4-speed manual, 400ci engine, factory air, all original sheet metal - no patch panels.

What a great thread!

Here are shots of my whips - I love them both...

'93 Suburban - sporting just under 250K on the odometer
'74 Monte Carlo - just under 31K on the odometer. Check out the swivel buckets.

I'll let you guess which one's the pinhauler/daily driver!

Mine is a 2006 Saturn Sky, but modified by Mallet Cars with an LS2 V8. Beats the poor little 4 cylinder that it came with!

this morning Tesla pushed a software update to my car that unlocks more horsepower (kicking it up to around 770hp or so) and knocks the 0-60 down to 2.4 seconds and quarter mile to 10.6, supposedly.

this is the screen on the UI to enable it:

Yes, I had to get new tires - the stock tires had no grip.

I love my Tesla P85D.. great daily driver for sure

I went to the track last month in my McLaren and someone brought a P100D there. It was pretty quick and was close to hanging w/ me for the first couple turns, then I would kill it in the straights. After that, he just disappeared. Apparently the car went into thermal protection halfway through the lap and reduced power by 50-70%. I can't imagine one day when they can do more then just 0-60mph sprints... the future of EV's looks good.. they just need to find a way to allow the battery discharge rate and inverters to not get too hot when driving it hard more then a minute or so.

Sell? What's THAT? Sellersville is where I live (Honestly, it's a real town) I can't bring myself to sell my cars. I've had them for many years.... I'm pretty good at buying, but selling? Not so much.

I think it's a generational thing. ALL cars are cool. Hot rods, antiques, classics, musclecars, exotics and yes, metrics too!! Your generation doesnt have living memory of the old stuff. Thats OK. You take what you know and make it your own. You customize it and hot rod them out the same way us older guys did the older cars when we were young.... Keep it up!! Take the time to look at ALL cars at a show. They all have some neat ideas built into them....

I also still have my 2001 Ford Ranger I bought new. 4.0 l auto 4×4. It's been a great truck and super reliable. I'm pretty sure every vehicle I will own will be judged against this truck.

Why you no turbo??

#446 7 years ago

It's required. These cars need at least a 4 inch diameter exhaust for unrestricted flow when modifying. Anything else is restrictive.

I'd like to see the dyno sheet saying they make more power.

Turbo was an option for the LS2 in the Sky, but THAT was just too far....

Quoted from crlush:

I never cared much for 4bangers or v6 cars growing up but my buddy got his ass spanked by a grand national and he had a demon with a 440 big block v8. I still want a 77-78 smokey and the bandit trans am but stock i dont think they had 200hp.

As did I, but I knew I was going to get crushed. I was a high school kid with a 440 in a Coronet. The Buick was bad ass and own by a guy in the Air Force. I only raced cause my buddy wanted to see me get beat so he managed to scrape up 10 for gas for me. Eff it haha. I remember sitting on the line listening to that turbo spool up, then he was gone!! The good news is on the way back I guess this guy in an El Camino thought I was easy prey and wanted to race back(after asking if he could flip his air cleaner lid over lol) . Sorry buddy, that 440 had more than enough for that lil 3fiddy. Good times!!!
