Quoted from Greenfun13:Sweet STi ! I always wanted a second gen.. (first gen available in North America) now they all have been used and abused and have high mileage..
Hoping to get the windows tinted either this weekend or next. I am planning on going with a lighter tint than I normally do, thinking 50% everywhere and 70% on the windshield. Think it should look pretty slick when its done.
Already have an AP with a tune from Randy at Mountune, but ordered an E30 tune to play with.
I also ordered a JL Audio Stealthbox and a few JL amps the other day. The system wont be as crazy as the one in my Mustang (Sundown U12 sub in a 3cuft box being fed ~2200rms by an old Rockford Fosgate T20001BD lol), but it should be wayyy better than stock!
I probably wont do many, if any exterior mods. I don't like the extra attention, it's already bad enough here in CA for car enthusiast.. I am even going to install an exhaust cutout and use it to tone down the loudness by forcing the exhaust out of one tip vs two when I want to be more stealthy. They are kinda heavy at 3,460lbs.. and according to Google:
"In 100% factory trim, a Focus RS could be expected to run the 1/4-mile in about 13.4 seconds at 103 mph."
However! With JUST an upgraded Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC), a downpipe, and a tune on e30, would put it at 403 whp / 461 wtq (measured at the wheel). Not too shabby for a 2.3L!
[quoted image]
I wouldn't buy this car if you care about 1/4 mile times, I would buy this car if you like carving canyons and taking turns at blistering speeds.. If I want to go fast in a straight line, I will grab the keys to my Mustang.
Cool thanks for the info and yea my question was just a quick performance indicator, I was more curious on the wieght. 350 HP is no joke in a small car and i bet its fun as hell in stock trim, let alone some upgrades. Plus AWD. I need to search for some launch vids!
Quoted from Greenfun13:I also ordered a JL Audio Stealthbox and a few JL amps the other day.
You have good taste, nothing like having some boom while driving(plus I enjoy the massage).

Quoted from luch:curious , what makes this one of 23 ?
They only made 23 yellow ZR1s in 2012. This one is even more rare since it has the PDE package with yellow stitching inside.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Swapping out a leaking oil cooler.
Looks like a VW 2.0 TSI? Which model you wrenching on?
I’ve never owned a Corvette. I love the 50s - 60s- early 70s styling. The local Chevy dealer had a pretty striking current red ‘vette in the prominent corner spot. I had a few minutes, so I pulled in and asked about it. It turns out that you cannot buy or order a new Corvette with a manual transmission!?! WTF?
Quoted from zombywoof:It turns out that you cannot buy or order a new Corvette with a manual transmission!?! WTF?
They dropped the manual for the C8. Unfortunately, the days of the manual transmission in a Corvette is definitely over. It'll get even more neutered when the E-Ray electric Vette is introduced.

2012 GLI
Oh, I know it well. I have a 2012 Tiguan with APR Stage 1 and the red coil packs. I freaking love that car!
Quoted from tjprice222:I have a 2012 Tiguan with APR Stage 1 and the red coil packs.
Yea stage 1 was done while mine still had paper plates, with the intake. Then after hitting a dear a couple years ago I had an Audi intercooler installed. Its got so much more power than my new to me 2020 A3.
I got the Audi so I could quit repairing the Jetta but with the oil cooler leaking I didn't get any solid leads on selling it so I figured I'd try and tackle the job myself.
I hope to report later this week it's back on the road.
Funny, my wife has a 2015 Tig, no tune and its been almost bullet proof aside from the typical intake de-carb done at 100K miles.
Do you do your own basic maintenance on your Tig?
Quoted from RyanStl:I love both G-Wagon and Mustang. Nice.
I love the Mach1, in Europe it's impossible buy it with Handling Package, the G-Wagon it's like a tank.

And, back on the road!

I spy APR, but why only the box, should have gone both pieces and had the back tube too
Quoted from Meegis:but why only the box, should have gone both pieces and had the back tube too
Bang for the buck didn't seem as measurable.
Back when I got it, the tunes and box was on special.
Driving in Huntington Beach and I about broke my neck doing a double take looking at a custom Jeep that caught my eye. I had to try and find it later and it ended up being a custom retro Jeep AEV JL370 classic edition. Looks sharp

Those of you that remember the truck and Cougar I did the rotisserie restos of might like to know what's next? Well this is it.

69 m code xr7 convertible. I'm converting from fmx auto to top loader 4spd. No rotisserie at this time. I'm going to kinda ratrod it, leave it satin black but with a complete new int, upgrading the front suspension, performer rpm intake and possibly aluminum heads and headers. I'm also putting the chin spoiler, rear wing and hood scoop from the Eliminator and "comfortweave" upholstery with high back buckets.
Found another ride to put on the radar. I have always wanted a Lotus but the Elise and other models configuration made it extremely difficult getting in and out of and the seats/ride did not make it ideal for a daily driver(more of a track car). The new Lotus Emira looks really promising to me and has all of the elements I am looking for. I want a small agile car that turns corners like it is on rails, looks stunning, and able to row through the gears with a good power to rpm ratio. From the videos I have watched it looks like they have changed the design to make the car easier to get in and out of and have added some new technological additions that make it ideal for a daily driver(win-win). There are two versions-one with manual supercharged Toyota engine and one with a turbo automatic Mercedes engine. For the price point I think this car is going to be highly sought after, especially when all the manufactures go electric in upcoming years and cars like this are no longer available. I like the Hethel Yellow color the best(Seneca blue looks sharp too). These are just starting to hit the states and I am on the list to take a test drive once they get the show model back.

I've always wanted me a Lotus but after trying to squeeze in one 6 years ago my hopes are over. I am comfortable in a corvette but that Lotus Elise was for high school kids.

The black looks so good. I have only owned one black car/truck in my life. It was a new Toyota 4Runner and my OCD kicked in with trying to keep it clean without scratches. I ended up trading it in with low miles for a silver 4Runner-now I own a white one. I love black but I told myself the only way you can buy black again is if it is for a sports car that sits pampered in the garage not driven much. I would have to have it covered and wipe it with a diaper to avoid scratches. I do love black and think it looks the best.

I hear you. That's why I spent so much time on it. I had to do a paint correction and what not. I used 4 different applications to get it to look good. Still some swirl marks on the hood. I'm sure I'll be doing it again soon. My truck that I traded with 70k miles, also black, looked better than this one which only has 22k.
Quoted from Roostking:Why did you trade in the other truck?
I wanted a bit more luxury and a softer ride. My last 2 we're Z71s. Guess I'm getting old. Those street tires won't last though. I have found that I like Falken tires. Look forward to taking those car tires off and putting a middle of the road one on. Not too aggressive. Falken Wild Peak A/Ts are nice

Owners of black vehicles fall into 2 categories.
The super particular, almost OCD regarding the paints condition and appearance.
The owner that has just given up, if the cars paint is clean, that is just fine.
Quoted from Darcy:Owners of black vehicles fall into 2 categories
I have always wanted a black Toyota like the one in BTTF-maybe someday

I would not call it "given up " - just a different personality type
I drive and enjoy my cars. I keep them clean inside and out but don't obsess about them.
I don't enjoy cleaning and detailing cars, I would rather drive them - once you get passed OCDing over every little mark you can enjoy what you have so much more - at least I can
Quoted from BMore-Pinball:once you get passed OCDing over every little mark you can enjoy what you have so much more
You can also be OCD and enjoy keeping your rides tip top(I actually love washing/detailing car in driveway in summer-feels good). I was taught young to respect things that you work hard for and that includes keeping them nice. I don't like dents or scratches staring me in the face. One thing I have noticed is the resale value is also much better when you take good care of vehicles. Most of my vehicles have cost me very little for ownership after selling or trading them in. Now if I had an old work pick up truck-then probably would not care much.
