It’s a track car. Function over fashion
Subaru was scheduled to reveal the all new 2022 WRX STI today, but with the cancellation of the New York International Car Show, it has been pushed back. I'm disappointed. I'm thinking that this may be the car I replace my John Cooper Works MINI with. MINI is no longer offering a six speed manual in the JCW convertible. That's a deal breaker for me. I like the idea that the STI is ONLY available with the manual. The same was true for my ///M car. I don't care if a dual clutch transmission is faster than a manual. Heel/toe shifting is an essential part of the driving experience.
After skimming through the sludge about deeproot on Pinside, decided to try a fun topic instead. We have had a 1950 Studebaker Champion for many years, but multiple issues have kept it off the road much of the time. We recently decided to sell it (but that has yet to go through) and purchased this top of the line model from that same year, the Land Cruiser! It has its own issues, but have been enjoying it so far. Unlike many of the cars I see on here, it is *not* a speed machine, haha...need to get that overdrive working. 100hp though, so an upgrade from the 85 on the Champion. Three speed manual transmission, and original 6v electrical system. Much easier for my EM brain to process than the 12v conversion somebody did to the other one. The radio even uses #44 bulbs.
DSC08618 (resized).JPGLooking at a vehicle in Tampa FL, anyone want to make a drive to Denver from Tampa anytime soon? Wondering what the rate would be to have it shipped?
I believe it is a Volvo.

Driving it home to Colorado from Wisconsin made it 15 miles from home. Eisenhower tunnel shut down for a snow storm. Couldn’t make it that day and had to leave it in Loveland ski area parking lot. 355s in the snow are scary!

The Studebaker Museum in South Bend is a best kept secret. Best car musem I have seen. Check out a Notre Dame football game while you are there!

Really hope to someday! I have been to South Bend once, but it was on a church trip (youth thing where we went and helped elderly folks) so I couldn't run off with my own itinerary. We did drive past the old location of the museum though...so I have seen it...so close...just not been in! We did tour Notre Dame, and that was really neat.

I owned a 91 until 99, curious to see more of this one.[quoted image]
Wow, car scoop on Pinside. I'm a regular on the Car & Driver website and this is the first I've heard of Acura bringing back Integra. I really want a Legend. I don't want modern styling, but throw back retro 90's styling.

Edit: I just realized; what a surprise, someone on Pinside wanting stuff from the 90's.
Edit, edit: Damn, hit the qoute button instead of edit button again. When will i learn?

It is the High import duties, Ford figures that their buyers would want most/all the extras and can afford them so thats what they import.

Very nice, best of luck with it.

Do it. I've imported a Cappuccino, AZ-1 and Cara and I enjoyed the Cappuccino the most out of any of them.

You need to start restoring that before they outlaw gasoline! (being facetious, but its only going to get more expensive!)
My father bought a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 back in 1992 and stopped driving it in 2003 because gas got "too expensive"... and it became a shelf in the garage... After years of trying to buy it off him, we finally made a deal in 2018. Here are some pictures of how she was sitting to how she looks most recently. Still have a loooong way to go, but at least she gets driven on the regular now!

This picture was taken over 5 years ago, so it is in much worst shape now. I don't have the time or desire or cash to do anything with it. I've thought about selling but I've had it for over 35 years, it's become a part of me. The funny thing is, it has never run right, out of the 35 years I've owned it, it has only been running about three of those years.
