Quoted from jawjaw:

Am I the only one not liking the new Vettes? Maybe they look better in person. Front end and back end look like they were designed by two different people and don't mix well in the middle. Not terrible but not good either.

I don't think they photograph well. Neither does the new NSX, but it looks much better in person. Not feeling the vette, but I'll wait until I see one.

The pin hauler is coming along nicely. Single fuel pump at 16psi got 750whp. Triple pump hat is on the way.

Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

2020 Corvette C8 naturally asperated mid-engine V8, 495HP, 0-60 in 2.9 sec., nearly 200MPH for around $80K.

Am I the only one not liking the new Vettes? Not terrible but not good either.

You have to like the performance, but I don't like the C8 design at all.

Well I did a thing and got me a new one

Nice purchase - looks gorgeous! (I like the black wheels especially) What year is yours? I have an '18 and my headlights look different than yours. Wondering if/when they made a change. It's in storage for the winter now and I can't wait to take it out in April. Have fun with yours!

Currently driving a 2015 Audi RS5 Cab.

This car is a unicorn around my neck of the woods. Especially if it's not black

Still own your Prowler? What year is it? Chrysler or Plymouth? I have a Red ‘99 that had her 20th birthday last year!

#2015 4 years ago

yes . it is pictured in my avatar , 2002 Chrysler , actually Daimler Chrysler , It's fun to drive and always gets lots of thumbs up , it's like drive a big go-cart , even have had a guy at a red light , get out of their car and run to the front of the car and kneel down to take a selfie all while I am waiting for the light to change , you never stop smiling when you drive it

I have similar stories about driving mine. Four old ladies on the highway in a Cadillac all staring at the car. Then one in the back seat gives a thumbs up! I have to say it gets the most attention from the widest variety of people.

I also have had the picture at a stop light happen to me more than once.

I don’t think I will ever get rid of it. Just to much fun to own.

I do not have the luxury of owning a winter vehicle, that's why my car is AWD.

Drive it every day of the year baby!

Mine is a 2015. Was looking for the early gen of them so that I was able to get the "active exhaust". Love the car and hope it is good luck with the drivability for years to come.

Just kidding. Gorgeous car!

Thank you for that! Didn't have to rob a bank though, just had a little equity and found a good deal

nice! My grandfather had one of those (red) when I was a kid. What a fun little car that was. One day out of the blue he took it for a ride and came back with a 1985 Mazda RX7 Turbo instead. Boy was my grandmother mad! LOL

They are still in producing parts for them, and there is talk of a third generation all electric Avanti.

Does anyone have experience making a diminished value claim?

#2037 4 years ago
Quoted from jayhawkai:

Does anyone have experience making a diminished value claim?

Did one back in 2010ish.

The body shop gave me the number of a guy, I gave him my details, he examined the vehicle and charged me $300. He submitted his findings to the insurance company. Insurance payoff went up by $3000.

Let me add that I also had a 4" 3 ring binder of EVERY receipt for EVERY thing ever done to the vehicle including windshield wipers, tire rotations, fixed flat tires, touch up paint etc. Hard to argue with black and white facts.

His web page says he is going to retire. https://www.nostalgicmotorcars.net/retirement.html
As well as selling used cars, none are Avanti. And replacement dash pads.

I work next door to them. Right now he has 3 Avantis out front under tarps. Really who stores care like that?
Out back there are body shells and tooling for making parts.

Electric Avanti III https://avantimotors.com/tomorrow/ sorry not much information here. I will dig deeper.

My friend said the Avanti II needs to be put to rest after a 4 door {ugly as F} and Convertible models were made in the late 80s. At some time it was using a Chevy Caprice. Then a resurrection and production moved it to Mexico. But only a few were produced.

For more accurate information: https://avantimotors.com/the-avanti-story/

Me, I love the Original Avanti and First generation Avanti II with Corvette motors.

I talked to local chev dealership in August, was gonna put deposit on c8. They didnt want to give me top book for our c7 conv, so I passed. More I look at the c8, less I like it. too angular and lambo lookin for my taste. Going to be a fantastic car, but have to see a few out b4 I buy

Toyota Yaris GRMN 1.8 supercharged, Lotus helped out with supercharger. Only 400 made for Europe, 212bhp 0-60 5.9. Tuned on the Nurburgring.
That’s my pinroom behind the air chamber which is in my garage.
