Pinballs and classic cars, dosen't get much better than that. My Black 64 Fury convertible, 62 Studebaker Gt Hawk and I'm currently doing a frame off restoration on my 57 Chevy 3100.

It is nice. Someone might try to steal it. He should watch it like a hawk.

Quoted from pinmister:

So I am a little bummed out this morning. I just ordered and purchased a new 2020 Toyota 4Runner. I have been wanting to upgrade our 4Runner to a new 4Runner with Toyota's safety sense technology for some time now. The 4Runner was the only Toyota model without this technology-until 2020. I have gotten so use to using this technology in my Tacoma, that I wanted the same in the new 4Runner. Well after driving the new 4Runner home last night I noticed it did not have blind spot monitoring? I was not happy and was upset. I got online this morning and read that all 4Runner models will not have blind spot monitoring? I am now like-WTF? I just sold my mint condition built 4Runner for this new 2020 model that I thought had all of the Toyota safety sense features? We love the 4Runner platform but now I am not sure what we want to do? Keep the new 4Runner with 20 miles sitting in our driveway or consider a Highlander or another Tacoma or something? I am kicking myself for not doing more due diligence and not realizing they do not come with blind spot assist. I have become overly dependent on technology and really want a vehicle with all of the safety features. Sorry if I am ranting-but I am pissed!

Hopefully it has mirrors, so not all is lost!

#1955 4 years ago
Quoted from Roostking:

Hopefully it has mirrors, so not all is lost!

Well not all is lost, just that the 4Runner does not come with blind spot monitoring. I did some research and found a few alternatives. The first alternative is to install aftermarket blind spot monitor that cost around $700-$900 installed. Another alternative that I read on a Toyota forum is a possible mod for blind spot monitoring that involves modifying your back up camera to turn on when you use your turn signal. I thought that would be a good alternative if I could figure out a way to do that. Finally I read about how to eliminate blind spots and it gave direction to do so. I am currently trying this method and so far it works but I have to lean a little each way to ensure my blind spots are covered. The nice thing about BSM is not having to turn around or double check while making a turn, I have found BSM to be really accurate and when you make a turn all you need to do is look at mirror and see if the indicator light is on or off.

How to set your mirrors properly to help eliminate blind spots...

I swear EVERY '68 Firebird was that green color. Had a buddy who bought a '68 Firebird 400 (in that color), 4-speed, manual drum brake, manual steering. Would go pretty good, but just make sure you have room to stop.
Oh. he paid $870 & it still had the factory hubcaps. This was back in 1979 or thereabouts.

This was back in 2007 when the Shelby Hertz GT-H were renting out by Hertz. We rented it when down in Anna Maria, Fl. (Coupes were 06-07 and the Convertibles were 07-08.) For a stock GT with mostly just exhaust, it got a lot of attention. I flew my helmet down (Rented out of Tampa) and ran it down at Bradenton. Beat the magazine time slips at the time by a tenth for my one and only pass at 13.6 @ 99mph. 2/25/2007

New winter project. Hasn’t moved in over 35 years. Spent the first day scooping ratsh*t and removing dirtdauber nests.

Any of y’all ever see a 2015 Nissan Nismo Juke RS?

Just wrapped up working at a Nissan dealership for six weeks (us sales transients, ugh) and got this as a going away present for myself.

What are your plans?

Quoted from crlush:

What are your plans?

Blast and coat the frame, redo brakes and wiring harness. Bodywork and original paint color for the panels. Enough to preserve and bring her back, but no huge “restomod” plans. I checked, a pinball machine would have to ride with the tailgate down.

Brought back this nice 68 280 Pagoda to Germany. Running in US from 1968 until 2009 helped to keep it rust free

Cool to see how much overlap there is between car guys + pinball. Especially surprised to see some other imports in here. I'm a Nissan fan, right now I have a '90 GTR and a 350z.

I can sort of appreciate what they were trying to do with the Blazer thing but the execution of it is terrible. The roofline of the modern Tahoe is ALL wrong for the classic body lines of the fenders, and those large diameter Rally-styled wheels look awkward and weird, and I'm NOT a "big wheel hater" (I have 22" Centerlines on my Silverado SS after all.) It's just weird, over-all.

Not specifically about the Scrambler pic you posted, but I kinda like the new Jeep Gladiator, it's cool as a 4 door Wrangler pickup type vehicle...but I see a lot of space in the aftermarket to give it some help. I absolutely cannot stand the appearance of the stock bumpers, tailgate, taillights, and wheels. Jeep really missed the mark on those styling areas.

Am I the only one not liking the new Vettes? Maybe they look better in person. Front end and back end look like they were designed by two different people and don't mix well in the middle. Not terrible but not good either.
