Ain't a garage without oil stains on the floor, dirty rags everywhere, tools laying about, and a couple of broken car parts you're saving for just in case

I used ArmorPoxy's ArmorUltra kit. It's a 3-stage epoxy coating system. Allgaragefloors.com might be publishing an article on my garage in a week or so. I'll be sure to post up a link here.

Couple pics from Shelby that I figured a few would be interested in seeing.

Several years ago Shelby American charged me $300 for a stainless steel dash plaque engraved with the serial number of my own GT500 and signed by Carroll Shelby. I wonder if they had him sign a stack of blank plates before his death in 2012 so they could continue to engrave and sell such plates?

Don’t know if they did.
But I was fortunate enough to have him sign my dash and hand wright my cars # on his 80th birthday.

Quoted from freddy:

I was fortunate to have Shelby sign my dash and hand write my cars # on his 80th birthday.

My first car was a used '62 Corvette. I only had it for about six months because at age 19 the annual cost for insurance even on my dad's policy was two thirds of what I paid for the car. I sold the 'vette for enough of a profit to cover my insurance cost for those six months and then looked for a sporty car to replace it. At the time my available car choices at local dealerships were:

used 1967 Mustang GTA (Mustang GT with an automatic trans) 390 V8 in lime gold - didn't like the color or automatic trans.
used 1968 Camaro Z/28 302 V8 in burnt orange metallic - liked the car a lot but it wasn't quite fast enough for me at the time.
used 1967 Shelby GT500 428 V8 in nightmist blue with white sill stripes only - engine was so tired and beat it would barely run.
new '69 SS396 Chevelle 375HP L78 daytona yellow with black vinyl roof - someone had ordered it then forfeited their deposit.

I bought the Chevelle SS396 and absolutely loved that car (until it was stolen six years later and never recovered).

Not really a Ford fan but I can appreciate what Carroll Shelby brought to the table for them. Cool to see the GT40 in the display at Shelby. The GT40 definitely has my respect; the whole history of that program is so amazing and the cars are impressive, beautiful, downright sexy.

I was pleasantly surprised when The Grand Tour did practically a whole episode on the GT40 story and that they let James May run one on the track! It was the natural choice really, considering Hammond would have just crashed it, and Clarkson simply wouldn't fit inside one.

From a statement from a Shelby Automotive employee. Carrolls' signature is reproduced since his passing. Almost anything can be signed. With the proceeds going to the charity that he supported.

(Autopen has a machine for ink signatures on paper.)

Shelby American has his signature saved to computer. They have a machine in Las Vegas which will "write" his "original" signature on virtually any item you can think of.

The machine was created before Shelby's death.

He actually signed right in front of me and then a firm hand shake!

#1663 5 years ago

Yes, but all signatures found on Shelby American cars/merchandise which were created after May 10th, 2012 use the machine.

I joined the pinside car club today. 67 Impala with a 396. Upgraded trans, 12 bolt rear, vintage air, retro sound radio, stall converter, Dakota digital gauges. It fell in my lap at a price I could not pass up. I’m in love.

Any of you car guys ever seen this type of mag wheel center cap domed insert plastic covers? They are 1-3/4 inches in diameter. They made them years ago and I'd like to get some more. The 3 blade spinners on my American CP 200's are naked without them.

The lower logo you posted, is like a 1979 Hood Ornament, could of been used until 1982. Is it a Ford part? Does it have a part number on the back?

No not a Ford part , they were sold by Hi Tech pictured above.

and thanks for the leads crlush, very much appreciated. I contacted both of them so we'll see what happens. Sure wish someone had some old stock of them lying around. Back in the early 80's when I bought them they were $6.99 for 4.....shit I should have bought 10 packages of 4 back then, I could get $70 for 4 now. LOL

I got an unexpected Christmas gift from Rick Vesco owner of the Turbinator, the new Turbinator poster and a smaller one, he even personalized one. I was the team videographer when they set the FIA Wheel Driven World Record back in 2001 at 458mph. This summer they were the first Wheel Driven car to break the 500mph barrier. They didn't have time to make a back up run because the next day the event was canceled because of rain but they were still the first to go over 500mph. Check them out at www.teamvesco.com. What a Christmas present.

I finished the ToyBox

Wow that turned out great-looks like it could also be turned into another nice arcade down the road-a carcade!

I love that color blue-probably one of my favorite colors. It looks stunning and I bet it turns a ton of heads.

dmacy-those are some sweet rides there. I love the Griswold's station wagon with the body on the roof-classic! I can just imagine driving that wagon around town and the looks you would get.

Well I have kinda given up on my dream car coming out-the new Toyota Supra. I was excited for the re-introduction of the Supra and was ready to pre-order one. Then I watched the development and decided it was not for me. It is basically a BMW sports car with paddle shifters and no option for a manual. I love Toyota's but the new Supra is just not exciting me any more. I guess they are doing a Super Bowl commercial for it-relating to pinball which is interesting. I imagine there will be lots of drifting going on.

I currently have two vehicles I am interested in. I still have an itch for a 2005-2007 Lotus Elise and I recently attended an RV show and found a campervan that was pretty cool and reminded me of a modern day Volkswagon bus. I want one

Yeah the color is great, out of the 850 or so imported only 55 came in Shapphire Blue so it took a bit of hunting but I’m glad I waited until I found this one.
