Our IT folks have blocked a bunch of keywords on our internet. Getting the error saying website category is filtered by the name "Games". Wonder if the owner of this site can do anything. Guessing it is on the back end of the site code for Google searches. Dam IT, guessing they needed something to do, someone will probably get a promotion to.

Gee whiz, that is sad. I hope that does not happen here. So far so good. We to have many key words blocked on our system as well. I am sure that some one in Indiana will catch on to me soon.

http://hideme.be/ or any other anonymous or VPN search engine will work ... But you really should be working

    #4 9 years ago

That really stinks. Now what are you going to do all day at work?

I used to work in a place that didn't filter anything, learned A LOT about pinball I'm that time from this site..... blocked now, which is smart because I would get no work done if I still had access.

Agree on the VPN, it's on him to work or not.

That's cool if that actually works. I typed... http://hideme.be/...into my search bar and put in espn.com after it and it didn't work. How do you get that to work?

This isn't to be funny either. I used to have so much downtime at work it was ridiculous. We were always on our computers. Then they blocked every good site you could go to including youtube. Having something like this to slip past it would be awesome info to have. Thanks.

EDIT: just figured it out by just putting...http://hideme.be/...in the search bar and then clicked go. Then it took me to the anonymous search site. Then I put espn.com in and it went right to it. That's AWESOME! LOL Thanks!

try using https://pinside.com instead of http://pinside.com

the second is blocked from my work the first is not.

Tossing out SlickVPN as an option as well. I get their service through another account I pay for, and I use it a lot.

With glass every were in the office, and at the console in the shop. I think the H.R. Lady here would have a problem with that stuff you mention VID1900.

My job includes spending time on Pinside. That's why I make the big money.

I would say that if your job blocked Pinside, maybe it's time for a new job.

A proxy server or VPN should do the trick.

    #18 9 years ago

Sorry, I don't think Pinside can do anything about being blocked on your work. We now use SSL exclusively (https only), so your connection to Pinside cannot be "eavesdropped" upon - but your IT department will still be able to see you are visiting a website called Pinside.com and a simple check on their end will show 'em this site's probably not work related. A proxy is the only solution, but please don't loose your jobs because of browsing this site instead of working

Hideme or the https:// did not work here as well. Both blocked. Thank god for I phones!! Just need to watch my data usage more now.

Forget that, get Sprint with unlimited DATA.

If I could get a promotion every time I blocked a website category, I'd be president by now!

    P.S. - I'm watching you, Matt...

    P.P.S. - not really.

You can try hidemyass.com. I used this when I was in China, where everything was blocked, and this let me go to any site I wanted.

For their free service, go to: https://www.hidemyass.com/proxy

Scroll down to the bottom of this page, type your web address in the box, and click "Hide My Ass".

You may want to click on the Advanced Options and change the server selection from "Random Server" to "USA, Chicago 2" - I found that to be pretty fast.
