Okay found it. The problem is caused by having the "responsive design" setting set to "desktop Pinside":
Change this to "Responsive" and you should see your sub-forums again. You can do so here.
Not sure why that setting is still there, to be honest 
Edit: Issue fixed. No need to change this setting anymore.

Basically, I have to reload the post list page every time I arrow back to it as the unread numbers change randomly. For instance, when I went back from reading a different post, this post showed all read, but when I clicked on the number it correctly brought me to my last post and all the unread posts since.

Yep, there's definitely something wonky there. It may have to do with caching (which is always a pain). I am aware of this and will work on a solution.

I’m using an iPhone and when I go to Forums and favorites I have new posts in three forums, each with a number representing how many unread posts in each forum. When I click on one of the forums on the right it takes me to the newest post in that forum. Nothing different here. When I use the arrow to go back to the previous page, there are no more numbers showing how many new posts in each forum.

I have disabled caching in the code that handles user visits. I think that should fix the issue.

Yes there is so much ‘header’ stuff like that it literally fills the entire screen on an iPhone. No content all header. Same with forum homepage.

When someone send you a PM, the little envelope number changes to show you how many unread PMs. You click to go read the PM and the number does not go back down till after you exit the message and refresh your inbox. Likely just some sort of refresh error and this is super minor. I just know some like to have even the small stuff reported.

I suggest that upon opening a forum topic, it should take you to the latest page rather than the first.

Yeah, most of the changes look great, but I think it requires a touch of editing. Maybe there’s a way to offer these options with small graphical icons instead of large text? Let the power users dig deep for mondo features while casual visitors have a clutter free experience.
Couldn’t all of this circled stuff be hidden until expanded? (Sorta like you do with blockquote).

Ouch. Sorry to tell you that RSS feeds were part of the old codebase and have been removed. If there is enough interest, I might re-add it.

There is also a forum setting that enables you to make jumping to the last unread post the default action when clicking on a topic.

I have some concepts floating around n the test server here, but none of it was good enough. I do see the point of making the mobile version a lot more... uhm... mobile looking, but without losing the Pinside feel. So consider that work in progress
Regarding mobile version feedback. I am starting to read more often in landscape mode, zoomed in to the post content. The eyes are not what they used to be... When I do this, I can no longer see the poster’s name.
Any chance you would consider shifting the username to where the post # is? Here is what I see on IOS
99E1F264-BCCB-4A76-8198-11A84141F796 (resized).pngI have to admit I'm not wild about the changes to the quote boxes. There's a lot going on with them that isn't entirely working for me. Sorry to nitpick, but these are my thoughts:
- the rounded edges feels out of place, everything else around them is squared off, it's not really clear why they're like that
- the radius on the rounded edges is close but not the same as the radius on the circles for the avatars, which creates an awkward visual tension
- the little in-cut shadow on the left side feels out of place, and visually distracting, I'm not sure what purpose it's serving, but combined with the avatar and the radius difference there's just a lot of noise in that upper left corner now. It feels added because you could, not because it was necessary in any way, and as an element that appears repeatedly across lots of posts I'd personally prefer it to be as clean as possible when reading
- the new way of just cutting off longer text looks like a glitch, my brain registers it as something broken every time I see it, it doesn't look purposeful
- in addition to the cut off text feeling weird, there's no visual indication that there's more text to read and you need to click to expand. This feels unfriendly to new users, but even as a Pinside vet I've already clicked a couple shorter quotes to see if there was more or not, because I can't tell if I'm seeing the whole thing or if there's a line break and more text that I'm missing. Having to 'guess click' doesn't feel good
Just my two cents, but quotes are used a lot, we see them repeatedly in almost every thread, kind of a major element to the site.
