White screen freeze on android is gone. Working good now so I can start using it.
Quoted from cheezywhiz:I agree with keeping a positive app vibe. I would like to implement a 'thumbs up' system with notifications eventually. Or perhaps a 'high five' system since thumbs are so overused. =)
Or what about a knocker system? Give someone a knock instead of a thumbs up. You could even make the notification sound a knocker!
Can't save scores on android. My page is blank although following one and have one follower. Home button takes me to page with cheezywhiz's scores.

I think there's an issue with some of the privacy settings Robin recently introduced. A friend had a similar problem and we were able to fix it. Try this:
On Pinside, Go to your profile page, click account, find the privacy grid on the page, change your scores to private, and save. Then set the scores back to public and save. Then see if your scores appear in Pinside and the app.
Let me know how it goes. I'll alert Robin to the problem.

Brilliant. That resolves #cheezywhizscoringgate and should be the standard recommended fix.
I probably missed it -- when is this supposed to be officially released? Looking forward to downloading it. Getting antsy!
Quoted from nephasth:Since you plan on putting this in the app store, are non pinside members able to use this?
No. Pinside account is necessary. Pinside is providing the user management (login/database), the score management database, the photo evidence upload management, and all the backglass media. I couldn't have built the app without Robin's support.
I do want to look into ways to make the signup process easier though. Many of my buddies have created new pinside accounts just so they can use the app, but they don't understand how to set their initials (???) or change their avatar. It would be nice to provide that function in the app, if possible.
Quoted from nephasth:Since you plan on putting this in the app store, are non pinside members able to use this?
From what I've read and seen about it, it looks like the bulk of the app revolves around Pinside, so I'd think not.
EDIT: Aaaand I'm blind, didn't see the post above this.
Thanks for the invite. This app seems to be working really well so far and is a lot further along than Pinscores. Of course I'll post back with any bugs and suggestions.
Both apps have a ton of potential... Pinscores had a bit more of an Untappd vibe, it was just less polished.
Android user. I seem to be having an issue choosing Add Score and searching for a game if the game starts with a number. I went in to score 3 Coins (Williams, 1962) but cannot get it to show up. Tried 24 (Stern, 2009) and 250 cc (Inder, 1992) and had the same issue.
If the game has a number in the name, but it isn't the beginning word, I will get results. For example, searching "2000" will show me Casino 2000 (Bill Port, 1977) and a few others (but not everything, Black Knight 2000 does not show when I do that).

Yeah, search has some quirks that I need to look at. Thanks for the heads up.
Cheesy -
Were you ever thinking about adding non-score features to the app?
Specifically, adding a map screen that displays locations and other pinsiders on a map, for example? (If you aren't, was going to recommend it as a forum feature - an API - that gave access to this info, since I'm going to be driving 1100 miles soon, stopping by random places may be fun.)
Quoted from nephasth:I made the video with my shitty Mustang score!
Can't be as bad as some of my scores he scrolled by. Heh..
I think the app is working pretty good now. However, sometimes it takes a while to find a pinball table. I'm using a iPhone 4S. When I want to submit a score for, let's say, Red & Ted's Road Show i'm typing 'Road' and the app needs a while to show the right table.
In this case, searching for 'Red' or 'Ted' didn't work because it's not in the title of the database.
But other then that, the app is pretty good.
I think that a picture should be required to submit a score; in the app and on Pinside. Pics or it didn't happen
I'm on a Droid Maxx
+When adding an image to a submission, I can't scroll the screen down to the submit button.
+Scrolling gets stuck on the Timeline view, if I open and close the options tab.
+I'm not getting quite a few representative images for games (WOZ, Genie)
+Game information, just shows code (maybe in JSON format)
+Anyway to add a location?
+Would be nice to have a list of favorite games and locations (or recent)
+Is there an about version to see what version of pinscores I'm using?
(edit... wrong app)

I don't think I have the right version. Do you have the link to the Pindigo android version?
Quoted from OrdealByFire:I'M ON THE WRONG APP... AHH!!!
I search "Pindigo" and don't see anything on the app store...
EDIT: Nevermind. I'm sorted now.
I think I'm on the wrong app for both android and ios.
How did you get sorted?
There's a different app called Pinscores -- perhaps that's what you're using? I renamed this app to Pindigo because of the name collision.
If you want to test Pindigo, PM me your email address and I'll get you started.
New 0.4.0 build going out to testers in a few mins!
If you're not a tester yet and you want in, send me a PM with your email address and if you're iOS or Android.
"Safari cannot open page because too many redirects have occured." or some error like that keeps coming up when I try to update the app.
EDIT: Nevermind. Took a few tries but finally worked.
I have a suggestion. Could you let us configure which screen we what to be the first screen shown? I'd prefer it come up to my scores and not all the scores like the home screen is now.
On Android: Regarding the inability to insert saved images... the application does have access to view and select an image it just then fails to "attach" it to the application. I'm wondering if perhaps a permission isn't asked for during install... i.e. maybe you request permission to see the images... but not the permission to use the images?
I'm basing this off of the permissions I see for this application: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.thewongandonly.QuickDraw
which are:
Photos/Media/Files
modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
read the contents of your USB storage
Camera
take pictures and videos
Feature request!
When recording a score, how about a field to put in game notes?
I went ahead and logged my first game on the app, and the game (not app) was horrible. The score I put up SHOULD be embarrassing to report. However, if you saw the game, you'd be effin' impressed. Other than 'On Location', I didn't see anywhere to record game condition..

There is a "Comments" section... on android it is a little button titled "add comment" or something like that.
Is there a say to see the top scores for each machine? I feel like there is and I am stupidly missing it.

Hmm.. I completely missed it if it's there. (And I was looking..!)

Depending on screen size you may have to scroll.tmp_16438-Screenshot_2015-08-23-16-28-191088105109.png

If you're on 0.4.0+, you should be able to click any machine name and it will take you to the leaderboard.
I have some leaderboard improvements (including a dedicated leaderboard tab) in the next beta release.

You may be on the right track. I've found some info online about adding extra permissions for Android apps. I'll look into adding that soon.
I have an Android device in hand now, but it doesn't have a memory card slot. Makes it tough to test this.

Don't need a memory card slot... Android always treats memory like a USB... it's just when you have a card it's like you have two USB's instead of one (if I recall correctly). So you should be able ot just try with the device you have in hand. For example, my Moto X doesn't have a Micro SD slot...

With my device I was able to attach a photo to a score from the camera and from the library no prob. Makes it hard to fix when I can't reproduce the problem. Ill add the permissions code to the next update and you can let me know if it worked. I appreciate the help!
still cant get photos to upload properly on android galaxy s5. just put 11 more scores in with pics but no pics / sad face
love how when you add a score it tells you your rank on the global leaderboard, nice touch!
searching for game names still has some issues, for example for KISS pro i type in kiss and get nothing, but at kis it will show the game. most games searching for them you have to put in 2 letters then scroll to find it, cant find it by typing out the whole name
Version 0.5.0 is going out to testers now!
- added a leaderboard tab
- zoom/pan on score evidence photos
- improved interface and stability
I took a a little diversion this week from app development to establish Pindigo's social media presence.
Official website:
http://pindigoapp.com
Social media:
https://twitter.com/pindigoapp
https://www.facebook.com/pindigoapp
Pindigo is lonely. Needs followers.
Also got Pindigo installed on Steve Bowden's phone tonight at Modern Pinball. He posted a killer score on ToM!
It's in beta so it's invite only right now, but he is probably still taking on testers, just pm him
Regarding the app, still doesn't show the pics I upload on Android
Cheezywhiz,
In case you missed it, I think in addition to being able to follow other pinsiders we should be able to like, heart, thumbs up, or something their scores, kind of like the upvoting or downvoting that already exists on pinside or similar to features on facebook or instagram. Loving the app but I would like my friends to know I saw their scores and that I'm paying attention to their posts.
Quoted from InfiniteLives:Regarding the app, still doesn't show the pics I upload on Android
Yeah, it's tricky to fix without being able to reproduce the problem. I may prep a special build of the app for you to try so that I can gather more info.

Absolutely! This (along w push notifications) is a feature I've wanted since the very beginning. I need to coordinate w Robin to make this happen and he's been pretty busy lately which is why it's not in the app yet.

Yeah let me know what information you need from me

i'd be willing to install a special build too... so you can hopefully find out.
I think I have the Android photo upload bug fixed. Also have some nice improvements to the add-score screen that I think everyone will appreciate (no more toggling between pindigo and your photo library because you can't remember your score long enough to type it in).
Update may go out later tonight.
