Will you be re-integrating the Pinside sync feature? Robin just commented on another post saying the new site API is ready for it and he’s looking forward to it.
I love Pindigo, please start syncing again

    Oh yes please!

My wife and I recently started using this app and I love it. It's a great way to track our scores and what machines we have played in the wild. I would really like to see more features in the future.

Achievements, for example, would be neat. Think like the "Untappd" app for craft beer. It awards little badges for things like drinking so many of a different style or going to different types of venues. Imagine a badge for playing so many Superpins, or JJP pins, or games designed by John Trudeau (well, maybe not John Trudeau, but you know what I mean). Badges for playing EMs, System 11s, and WPCs. Badges for playing in venues classified as barcades, laundromats, pizza parlors, etc. I think it would add a lot more incentive for people to get out to different venues and play new machines and would add to the overall enjoyment (and growth) of the app.

    Bump for this feature request!

Late to find this app. How do you create or view graphs of your scores?

    #455 4 years ago

The new update is fantastic you guys!!! I LOVE the new layout!

You used to be able to click on the little "chart" icon next to the comment icon and it would pull it up, now it seems to just bring you to the listing of scores for that machine.

Probably not the place for it but is anyone else having issues with the app? It just stays on the loading screen forever....

Yeah, it just started acting up. Worked fine Friday night, by Sunday it was DOA.

    Mines down also.

I wrote in; they informed me the server is down and they are working to resolve.

    #461 4 years ago

As of Today it’s fixed! Very happy!

Anyone having an issue joining a group? I can search up the group name but it just says "coming soon" and I can't select it.

So I did not look through the whole thread but I was curious if you can find users near you? Or do you have to know their name to follow them. I only see my scores and where they are in global rankings. Am I missing something? I am in the St Louis area by the way, add me smcclain65 .

Hey everyone. I'm the technical developer of Pindigo and I'm hard at work rewriting our server to usher in the next era of development and new features.

We haven't announced anything on our Patreon or social media yet, but we have plans to allow API access to Pindigo which will enable talented and hobbyist developers to make neat tools, analytics, or integrations for whatever they desire (Live-update twitch leaderboard would be so cool!).

I'm posting here first to reach the most die-hard Pinball fans I can to ask if there are any developers interested in talking about their ideas so that we can start collaborating. If any hobbyist developers are interested in contributing directly to Pindigo, Cheezywhiz and I would also be interested in hearing from you.

**Please email [email protected] if this post speaks to you!**

Keep an eye out for some announcements regarding other new features and quality of life improvements coming to Pindigo's app and website! I'm almost done with grad school and I'm going to have ample free time for Pindigo in the near future!

Good to hear your plans. Pindigo fills a unique niche. I feel there are a lot of interesting stats one could compile.

Yay!! I’ve been getting 3 new pinheads turned onto Pindigo but one reported issues making a new account.

I really love this app and find it’s superior to others I’ve tried. Even the new Scorbit seems like it’s got a ways to go.

Still waiting for robin to re-integrate it with Pinside. I know he’s super busy rewriting the site from scratch.

Could you or one of them reach out to us at [email protected] to make sure we get this taken care of?

Thanks for helping to share Pindigo! We appreciate the kind words.

I certainly have a lot of newfound empathy for anyone rewriting their codebase from scratch! I’ve rewritten our app multiple times but never the server until now. It’s just gotten clunky and difficult to work on over the past 6 years. I’ve learned a lot professionally since then and I’m giving the rewrite everything I’ve got.

Something I hope Michael doesn’t mind me sharing is that we are baking in support for machine group leaderboards. A machine group leaderboard is a high score list generated from all the different variants (Pro/Premium/LE/VE) of a machine (shoutout to Andreas & OPDB). In the case that a Pro and Premium doesn’t score differently, you can see a leaderboard of all the scores posted on either!

The more I've investigated Stern Insider Connected and Scorbit in the past couple weeks, the more appealing Pindigo has become. There's great potential for both those services, but they're pretty flaky and confusing right now, not to mention the costs involved. Pindigo doesn't do achievements, but its leaderboards, stats, and social features are *way* more fleshed out than the others. There's no claiming spots, creating locations, setting up hardware and software, just snap a damn pic of your score and enter it. Not sure if it's because of Expo, but the activity feed is really jumping right now with new scores every few seconds including some on Cactus Canyon remake.

I only have one old test score up right now but I'm going to start using it a lot more and upload some older scores I still have pics of. Post your Pindigo name here or follow me and I'll follow you back.

Pindigo has the advantage still because it is usable on practically ANY machine (Not just new Sterns, SI), it doesn't require special technology or monthly fees (Scorbit), it has an easy to use interface (Scorbit again... yuck), and it has an existing user base to draw on. 9/10 I reach for this app over the others simply for versatility and ease of use.

The problem for it is that it has not changed all that much with regards to features. I think Pindigo should have really leaned in to things like Badges/ Achievements for playing different types of games and in different venues, ala the Untappd beer app. This would not require any additional connection software, it would just be a matter of updating its game database with certain tags like "EM,""System 8," "Banana Flippers," "Pat Lawlor game," etc etc etc. Badges would be earned and upgraded by playing a certain # of a given tag. Same goes for types of venues (bar, music hall, arcade, game store, etc).

If they could have gotten a head start on this, it would have been a giant leg up. I wish them well going forward because the hobby needs an app that is not tied down to a certain manufacturer.

Reach out to the developers and offer your services to implement your ideas. They are very willing to collaborate.

The reality is project changes take effort. Commercial projects often have dedicated staff paid to make changes and improvements. Passion projects are usually a couple people in their spare time.

Thanks for your comments. It's true, we (needz and I) haven't put as much time into Pindigo lately for a lot of reasons. Work, school, family, etc.. life does seem to get in the way. That said we are seeing the light end of the tunnel and do have a few new things in the works.

Fun fact: As of right now, our users have posted 300,825 scores across different 1,441 machines!

I’ve added a few 1-of-a-kind games to that list. It’s very amusing to be 1/1 in the world

Pindigo is experiencing an outage due to a recent SSL certificate issue. I’ve identified the issue and have a solution but am current on the way to the airport. Will fix ASAP

Edit: It's up! Got my friend to drive me so I could code from the road!

How do you accept a group invite?

*edit I figured it out: have to go into the group and click on the title of the group which then activates the 'join' button.

Cool app, but can never tell what is clickable and what is not
