    Quoted from mamawaldee:

The rich have discovered pinball and will slowly push out all the average people. I am enjoying the surge in barcades which is in my opinion temporary. Eventually ops will sell to rich collectors and the barcades will fold. But for now anyway, we are lucky in my area to be able to play every new title for very fair cost.

I hate it when that army of rich buyers scoff up our shit.

Ideally one would have seen this coming about 18 months ago and completed one’s collection by then.

Prices have been rising steadily for over 20 years.

So everybody had plenty of time to get what they wanted.

It's like someone who is worried the Stones won't tour again. You really haven't seen them YET?!

Oh boy, the 1000th pinball pricing thread. NEAT

I’ve been hoping these conversations will become part of the ongoing discussion in the dedicated pricing thread. If you haven’t heard of it, feel free check it out and add to the discussion:

I could imagine what one’s perception of “correct” prices are will be based on those prices when one got into the hobby and started buying pins. For me it was around 2013, so pins were already in demand, but prices seemed semi-stable for a while after that. But I do think we have had some extreme circumstances the last few years, so the reasons for the price hikes are clear, but unsatisfying.

That's true for old farts in the hobby, but not for newer people. And even 10 years ago things were going up above what I thought their "fun value" was. All of a sudden $900 games were going for $1400! It was pinsanity 1.0!!!

Judge Dredd is a 1400 dollar game folks…..
