I did all of my buying and selling decades ago when prices were cheap. Drive home with a game for 50, 100, 200, 500 bucks. Or a super nice TZ for 1800, something like that. Only ones I really really REALLY miss are a handful of EM titles I kept for a long long time but I figure hey I got my fun out of them. The ones I think I miss that I only kept for a few years, I figure if I had them back even at a phenomenal price I'd find out I'd been looking back at them with rose-colored glasses on. Other than that. back then I didn't give a rat's ass about how much a game cost me or what I sold it for, I was only obsessed with pinball as a hobby and not an investment. Had about 70 machines but have almost zero memory of what I paid or sold them for.
