They probably got the license cheaper in 1991 than they would have in 1989. WB must have considered it a good promotional tool.

Don't know what happened, but when season 2 started, it seemed to have lost quite a bit of the magic. By the time they got to the Sasquatch episode, it was time to throw in the towel and call it a day.
