BD, thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention. I use Pinmail all the time, and I actually had never thought about whether or not it was private prior to this thread. I always knew that it was technically possible for someone to view my messages, but I guess just assumed that this would never happen. I'm really curious to know what caused robin to look at this particular Pinmail in the first place. I can't imagine he has the time or energy to read every single message. Perhaps he is automatically notified when certain keywords are used such as his name. I think we as a community deserve a little more explanation about what went down. When one of our most prolific and helpful members is this upset, I think it's a pretty big deal.

Keith, thanks for enlightening us! Between your post and robin's posts, I think it's safe to say that any lingering misgivings we had about the Pinside mail system have been thoroughly quashed. It's really a shame things had to go down like this, as it taints the legacy of one of our most cherished members. I certainly wish BD luck, and hope he finds peace with himself.

I agree. As I'm sure Keith has noticed, we have a dedicated JJP forum on Pinside. I think it would be awesome for JJP to have an official presence here, and I can't think of a better ambassador.
