Hi guys, please put this in another category if I'm in the wrong place.

1. My Jetsons don't work any longer. Don't start at all.

2. Bought a new fresh SD card and added latest ROM. But can't update.

3. Game says code version 48!! Should be 2. Must have happened somehow when we tried updating it several times?

4. Game can find the update but can't connect to PIC32! Is that big main CHIP broken?

See pics.

Did you reach out directly to Spooky yet? That's probably your best bet.

Not yet.

benheck should be able to answer that since it is his design.

Thanks. Exactly the man I was looking for.

So how the update works is the A/V processor boots first and if it sees something on the card it puts the main CPU (the PIC32) into program mode. Kind of like plugging an Arduino into a computer.

The PIC32 isn't responding to the status/handshake request. This could be a corrupted bootloader flash or physical damage to the chip (you'd have to ask charlie if that's ever happened)

Ask Spooky if they can swap this for a board pre-flashed with Jetsons I think they have spares. Then your existing board can be reflashed or given a new chip.

I do need to revisit this board as Charlie wants me to port AMH to work on it (since they have zero remaining AMH boards)

Thanks Ben! Just got I mail from another dude saying he has the same problem.

Suicide chip!?

(Mailed Spooky and showed them this thread.)

Worst case scenario they just flash it. It doesn't have any anti consumer measures installed (though most of those chips do have the option!)

No answer from Spooky yet. Any help would be appreciated Ben, the Spooky support haven't convinced me yet.

Took half a year to get a factory-broken cord to my Alice Cooper. The time it came, the game was sold.

Who are you emailing at Spooky? I've always gotten prompt responses from Charlie. Luke seems to very pretty active as well. KingPinGames provides some support too.

I think Jetsons uses the same boardset as Rob Zombie, check this out for a similar issue and potential solution:

Those chips don't fail much at all... this is typically a code loading issue.

Is the new SD card you grabbed a Class 10 and 8g or as close to that as possible? The Class 10 is a must... Did you format the SD card correctly and unzip / load the card as instructions on our game support page indicate?

I passed this to our programmer to get you some help.

In my experience, Spooky has given great service and has gotten me parts within a few days. I’ve always emailed Charlie.

I used that blue button (or similar one on Jetsons), to get around the static screen.
But got the fail message every time.

Will try again tomorrow (it's on a location) with every detail in mind again.
Hope it's a drag and drop folder problem or something like it.

The thing is the audio/video on my Jetsons have never worked perfect since day one.
After an update it looks good, then after a couple of games it gets more and more disturbance.

Thanks folks! Using a class 10 SD card.

Game works good now. Better than ever, due to the "new animations" I guess. Let's hope the audio and video will keep being solid this time.
When shooting the ball in the start, the bar on the screen moves in the opposite direction now, is that part of the "rev 4"? Looks weird.

Works. Except that the right flipper went bananas after 1 played game and works like a machine gun now. Any quick fix? Is it the EOS switch? Looks good underneath the playfield.

I guess I left the "whatsnew" document on the card or drag-n-dropped the files?
