The award combines overall game artwork. Include cabinet, translight and play field art.

And the winner is:...........

Holy crap this should be a landslide. Gameplay will go all over but art....

I would like to make a positive statement and commend all of the companies for acknowledging how important art is to pinball. They continue to listen and this is one area I feel we have made progress.

Agreed, this one is a pretty tough choice - art has really improved lately!

Just wondering, was it indeed Kevin O'Connor who did the art for Spider-Man Vault?

IMO

GB best overall
RZ has awesome cab and translites
I do think Pabsts looks pretty rad also

at least art has improved in the pinball world lately, now if only other things will follow

all of them on the list look way better than stern photoshop era games

I'm still finding things on my GB playfield, cab, and backglass. Pretty amazing work.

Can't say I was impressed with any pinball "art" this year. If you want to call any of it art.

But as usual, that is in the eye of the beholder.

Quoted from o-din:

Why the quotes around the word art? I can see if games are photoshopped, but the ones with hand-drawn art packages are without a doubt "art", whether you find it appealing or not.

#11 7 years ago

Hand drawn art is a step in the right direction I guess. But when it looks like copies of somebody elses art who did it much better, it doesn't do much for me. In the art world, some copies can fool even some so called experts though.

FWIW, I personally think the pinball industry really raised the bar with art packages across the board in 2016.

Scott Gullicks did the translite on Dominoes, maybe the playfield as well.

#14 7 years ago

Best playfield is GB by far
Best cab & translite is RZ by far

2017 Aerosmith looks beautiful all around. DD nailed it.

#15 7 years ago
