I bought some of these and really like them, anyone used them yet? I think this is V2, the collapsible part. The top is adjustable.

Did a search and nobody was talking about the collapsible ones yet.

    check it: http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=2638

I'll post up pics on my Metallica later.

I really like mine, have them on almost all my games for a couple years now. I have all left side mounts so you can take a drink while you plunge the ball.

mine both broke on my route games

Cool, are yours the collapsible as well? I hope they last. I bought the right side thinking I drink with my right hand, quicker to get it in and out of the holster.

Did you send them back? Did they warranty them at all?

These were the collapsible ones that broke? Was it the mounting spot, or the arms? or?

These style of collapsible cup holders exist outside of pinball. In WV Vanagons, they are installed. Here is an example of a replacement model.

On the breaking issue, they simply cannot take a lot of abuse. I have taken one of those out with my ass while moving around inside of a van.

I can imagine in a routed and dark environment that one of those could easily be taken out in a bar. I would think it would work well for a home environment though.

Nice, that is a cool pic, I've had three VW vans (one 68, and two 69's) but I had never seen these. This is an upgraded design in that the opening can be adjusted to accommodate different size bottles, cups, etc. but still almost identical in every other way. The non-collapsible look like they might be sturdier, I saw them on-site at the local pizza place, no issues.

They were mounted proper , the arms broke off them within a week ..

I didn't warranty then , I wasn't sure how they got broke (drunk guy likely) ...

Hard to clean on site too..

I got all my [non-collapsible] PinGlups from bringing the machines to TPF's FreePlay area. Last year they "sold out" before I got checked in.
I don't know if they are making a return this year.

Well yeah....that's what your first post was asking right.

I looked too, and couldn’t find them anywhere. I suspect it is due to the arms breaking in a commercial setting. I ended up picking up the cups that seem to have replaced it. Both made by the same folks.

    Thanks for checking..

Im just kind of picky where I like how the collapsible ones are just about unnoticeable when folded.

    How were they breaking?

Here's one. I used these in a rental cabin I owned and they held up pretty good
Not sure if these are same makers or not

I too really like these "old" pingulps as they not only collapse, but can hold wine glasses, mugs, and various other oddball shaped glasses. The standard are built for routed games, which I understand, but wish they would make the foldable ones for at least home use. If anyone makes them or finds them, I would buy 6. PM me if you have access to any. Thanks

    I agree. They are great!

I’d be in for 5-10 of these too. Have them on 95% of my games now. I think Pinballife used to be the supplier, maybe we can talk them into doing a short run?

Thats where I bought them in the past. I reached out to Terry there a little while back and was told they arent being made anymore due to them breaking. As mentioned, I would assume on route they were breaking.

Yeah I would agree, I’m looking to use them in a home setting. They've weathered several parties with no issues at this point and they’re so much easier to work around. I prefer the look of them too and the convenience to size to whatever you’re drinking.

I might create and 3d print the bracket these could mount to. I am a lefty, but could also print the right bracket if there is a demand. You would buy the collapsible part and just screw it together with the 3d printed piece.

Or if there is demand for a specific number I could order off of Amazon and put them together and ship out. I would need payment up front because I'm a poor grad student.

Post here or PM me. I'll favorite the thread so I remember to check the thread before I get this project underway.

Anyone ever make a bracket for these? I prefer these as well as they are foldable, but I cannot find any with a bracket attached for pinball use.

I ended up buying the new pingulp that are easily removable off the bracket as there was no interest in the mounts.

I might have my old ones somewhere in a box. If you are interested, I can dig around a bit.

I actually just did the same. Ordered new Pingulps with removable mount at bracket. Will see how they do.
