Edit2: Pingraffix has provided a full refund including shipping and promised to remove the offending blades from their online store, which are the only 3rd party manufactured product on his site. See pingraffix response below. Additionally, they offered me a free set of gameblades of my choice for my troubles, which I have respectfully declined.

Edit:

Since posting this, Pingraffix has reached out to me, offered a full refund without a restocking fee, and pledged to remove the offending 3rd party produced item from their store. They have personally addressed my issues within this thread as well. To be fair to them, I did not reach out to them for restitution before flaming them on pinside. I was unhappy with the product I received, but they are doing the right thing by me now. I will be mailing back their product this weekend.

All,

Pics follow text.

I love pinball and have strived to be positive on this site. However, I have to remark on the quality of the inner art blades I just received from Pingraffix. I love art blades. They are my favorite mod. I have installed these (poorly) on just about every machine I've ever had. I have previously bought Tilt blades and had good experiences with the product, despite always scraping them up raising and lowering the playfield.

My new TSPP came with a set of NIB art blades, but they were old and keep peeling off to the point of being useless. I ordered a new set of art blades from Pingraffics this time instead of TILT because I liked the art better. The graphics roughly corresponded to where the spots were in the game (Moes is near the moes ramp). However, once I received the blades, it became apparent the quality of the scan used to produce these was... not good. My new and old graphics both used many of the same images, but the old graphics were smooth, and Pingraffix was pixalated or blury. I could complain about it all day, but instead of just rambling I'll let you look at the pictures. I'm sure these are printed on high quality material and all that good stuff but these are almost unusable ugly. I may or may not install these or just order from Tilt. This is what $80 from Pingraffix gets you.

Just to clarify and be fair, the old blades rolling up and not sticking has nothing to do with Pingraffix. I think they were just poorly stored for years, but they were free so no complaints on quality there.

#3 3 years ago

They have a big set even sending them out the door.

#5 3 years ago

Definitely poor quality. Tilt is my go to.

#6 3 years ago

I'm a tilt guy too. Great customer service if there are any human errors too. Good folks

#7 3 years ago

That new set is unacceptable and would not go in my game.

#8 3 years ago

Did you reach out to Pingraffix first?

#9 3 years ago

Pingraffix is good now

#10 3 years ago

Yes, they look terrible.

Why not take the old ones off and spray then with adhesive spray and re-apply?

I forget the guys name but every time I meet him, super nice and helpful.

That is an excellent point.
I just sent the following message just short of a nastygram and invited them to respond on this thread. I have decided I will 100% not be putting those in my machine and will be ordering a set from Tilt. Looking back at their website, they want me to eat shipping (which is okay I guess) but pay a 20% restocking fee. I will update this thread on the status of a refund if one is forthcoming.

The old ones are torn in several places and held on with tape. They would look better than what Pingraffix sent me, but would still bug me... I'm just going to order another set and hope I can get a refund without calling the credit card company.

Yep,

Just ordered a set from Tilt. If they show up before I get a good answer from Pingraffix on a refund I'll place side by side photos.

PinGraffix Powerbladez are great! But I prefer Tilt just because of the Tilt models.
( The Tilt-ed Kilt girls all work for Tilt Graphics, don't they? )

Pay shipping and 20% for selling you crap? I would have a big problem with that.

So sorry about this. I have taken these off our site and thank you for pointing this out.
This is the one (and I mean that) PinBlade we don't actually make. They come from another vendor and we resell them.
So your point is valid.

We are a family run business and we always try and go beyond what most people do to make people happy.
Thanks for your review and feedback.

Also if you ever have any problems.. I can always be reaced via email at [email protected] or my phone number is
516 680 1787.

Don't know of many companies who post thier number on public forums but there you go.

I really don’t know for sure who put the op up to this, but I have my suspicions, I’m sure tons of customers of Pingraffix are going to see this and back my words up, Joe the owner of Pingraffix is a good friend, his products are definitely not crap,He always goes above and beyond to make it right,in fact originally tilt was part of Pingraffix and all of his pinblades were derived from Pingraffix. I hope Jose from tilt will be man enough to admit that the materials and printer are the same that he uses are the same that he used at Pingraffix.

This is a major mistake to put your company at risk selling something for another vendor that you also manufacture the same product.
Buyers think it's you companies crappy product. Just not a good idea.

Wow.

This is pretty harsh. Joe has been nothing but a stand up guy throughout the years I’ve known him. Not only is he a friend, but I’ve purchased machines from him that he’s modded, as well His pin blades.

I’ve never known Joe to screw anyone over in the community, period. He’s always one to make things right if your order isn’t correct.

I urge you all to make decisions based on your purchases & personal experiences. There are options out there for a reason, and my choice has always been joe. I’d like to think I’m a standup member of the community, and that my word means something.

My two cents

Even the biggest companies make mistakes, the best ones take action to make it right, which Pingraffix has always done, and once again joe has already responded to make it right.

#22 3 years ago

Joe acknowledged an inferior quality product being sold and will probably make things right .

So another poll option would be :

I jumped the gun on my complaint without checking with Pingraffix , therefore i withdraw my complaint and changed the title .

This post is starting to look silly. Time for you to make it right.

Sorry Satan

#23 3 years ago

Another fan and proud to be friend of the PinGraffix crew. They will go above and beyond and Joe has a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. I've used his blades in my games and the images have always been amazing as well as the quality of the material. I see that he stated this was a set he resells and hope that people don't feel this reflects on the quality of his blades. Pingraffix! There is no substitute!

#24 3 years ago

In all my years in the hobby, Joe from Pingraffix is one of the most stand up guys I know, he has a heart of gold... He will always fix any mistake. I cannot say enough positive things about the man and the company. Their Powerblades are without peer.... Always try to contact the vendor before posting on pinside.

#25 3 years ago

I have never had a problem with PinGraffix. They are and will be my go-to for any graphical modification on my machines.

#26 3 years ago

Wow Op, I.think you jump the gun alittle
you torched the guys lively hood and character before contacting him . Shame on you. Joe is Probably One of the most Stand up guys you will meet in this business and has a heart of Gold. Always tries to do the right thing and help anyone in this hobby.
Pingraffix to the front where they have always been in customer service and innovation !!!!

#27 3 years ago

Good dudes @ PG. Thread could've been avoided just simply contacting them first.

#28 3 years ago

I have been dealing with Pingraffix for a couple of years and can tell you that Joe and his wife are stand up people. Joe is an innovator who works tirelessly on coming up with new and better products for our hobby. The last person that should ever be bashed or getting a bad review is Joe. If you have a problem with anything he will make good on it and never complain about doing it. I don't know why anyone would go about writing this thread without resolving it directly with Pingraffix. To me you are looking to destroy a good reputation without thinking about who it affects. I will vouch for Joe any day of the week because I know the man and he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. So do us all a favor and resolve this like a man and take this thread down. You are only making a fool of yourself and hurting other fellow hobbyists.

#29 3 years ago

I’ve purchased several sets of power blades from Joe and find them top shelf and his designs are amazing. He is a really nice guy and reachable for sales or concerns unlike other venders. Def should have given him a chance to resolve before possibly unfairly effecting his business esp at in the times were in. He then was more then accommodating and was possibly hurt by this for nothing.

Let's slow down a little.

An inferior product was sold without a QA check. To put anything on the OP is just deflecting from the fact that this was sold either directly or indirectly from the vendor, and the vendor had complete faith in his source or checked it himself and was satisfied. It's either an aberration and replacement or refund is warranted, or it's the standard product and if you're dissatisfied, send it back on your dime and eat 20%.

It's not like this is a printing error. It seems like it was a low grade source blown up to fit.

In fairness the op posted without contacting the vendor first, this is an ambush, the vendor made good right away when he saw this post. The vendor was not given an opportunity ahead of time to make it right. A mistake was made, vendor acknowledged, and backs the refund 100%, seems like a great vendor to do business with if you ask me, but iam biased of course.

All well and good. We can make our own judgement, on the good or bad service OP is receiving. They made good, no one should think poorly. Handling this behind closed doors would only be less info for perspective buyers. The photos told the story, and it will be continued when the vendor replaces them with good copy or doesn’t sell them anymore.

More info is better, always.

I have pin graffix blades on my Diner and they are very high quality. I went to Joe's house once when I took interest in a fun house he had for sale and I saw his passion in the few times I met him and more importantly I saw the industrial size printer and that behemoth is a thing of beauty. Pin Graffix blades are high quality and you should have went to Joe before making a complaint on a public forum. Joe's reputation is gold on Long Island and no one puts their heart into making customs like he does. He is a treasure to this hobby and a good friend to my pinball mentor. Joe's reputation speaks for itself and who else would go above and beyond in customer service to the point he would put his phone number on a public forum so if you had a problem you can call him and talk to him directly. I've seen in person the high quality blades and work on my Diner and a Bride of Pinbot that my friend has pingraffix blades of and when I'm talking crystal clear I mean it.

#35 3 years ago

I will put Joe in the “good guy” category too. I have received a full refund, and Joe has offered to send me a set of Gameblades of my choice due to my troubles. I appreciate the offer, but have politely declined. I have mailed the originals back to Joe.

I ordered these because I liked the design more than those offered by other competitors, and because of all of the positive recommendations on pinside. Everything I have stated in this thread 100% true, and I was careful to back up my complaints with detailed photos. I am sure many of you have gotten quality products from Pingraffix in the past, but that was not my experience. Upon looking at their site again I figured out the art blades that came with my ST:TNG are Pingraffix, and are the only blades out of my whole collection that have not gotten torn so far. However, the quality of what I got for my TSPP and the quality of what was already installed in my ST:TNG are night and day. I posted a warning to others about the quality of the product I received, and would hope others would do so with any product that was sub-standard as designed to prevent others from having a similar experience. When I emailed Joe, I sent a link to this thread to allow him to respond, which he has, and he has done everything to make things right to include removing this product from his site.

Joe is the best!!! I love his stuff. His powerblades are amazing and in SW, Munsters, Metallica and JP!!! He makes things right if you have any issues.

I also have some stuff from Tilt. His new JP stuff is cool!!

#37 3 years ago

Hello Pinside. This is JT from Tilt Graphics Inc. I've known Joe for 30 years now and 9 out of 10 times he will give you the shirt off his own back if you need it. I know I've had my issues with Joe and I hope one day we can resolve them but I'm here to tell you he's basically a good guy. Given the opportunity I'm sure Joe will do what it takes to fix any and all issues. If anyone ever has issues with his product or anyone else's for that matter, they should always give them the opportunity to fix it before going public.

Just to clarify one or two other items. Tilt Graphics was never part of Pingraffix. Joe and I were both owners of Pingraffix but after two years of helping to build Pingraffix I was asked to leave. That day I lost my company and my best friend. When I left I took 90% of my designs with me and started Tilt Graphics with another friend/designer. I think in the long run it's worked out well for the both of us.

#38 3 years ago

I've had problems in the past with not getting my orders from pin graffixs....i did reach out to him....no call back...even sent a msg over messenger....he seen my msg and still didn't respond back... I did eventually get pinblades 5 weeks later and a email saying their on the way.... You can put your phone number up but if you don't answer what's the point....

This is poor form all around on your part. Joe at Pingraffix is awesome. Great to talk to and easy to work with. You really didn't have to come here slamming first.. and the tone of your message back to them is just as prick-ish.

Totally understand not being happy with the product - but talk to someone like they are a human first.. not bossy and standoff-ish. Most of the vendors in the hobby are individuals or small businesses owned by people directly running the business.

Goto the York Show and meet him and his family in person. Treat people with respect and you'd be amazed how far most will go to either make things right, ensure you are satisfied, or find an agreeable solution.

No need to go all Facebook Karen out of the gate.

I’m not able to edit, but what I meant was that Jose was originally part of Pingraffix, tilt is a separate company that was formed after Jose left Pingraffix. Sorry to cause confusion and imply that tilt was part of Pingraffix it never was.
