What time is the match play tournament scheduled to start?

    Quoted from coreyhulse:

    * We know that the Match Play event did not run smoothly. This is a personal disappointment because we ran a similar event at the York show and by all accounts that was a great event. It did not translate here to PinFest and we'll think about either cutting it completely or modifying the format to be a better experience next time. Because we saw that the double-elimination format didn't work well for Match Play, we pivoted to PAPA-Style Finals in Main and by all accounts the Main Finals were much smoother as a result.

I would like to see it return next year. Eliminate the potentially long games and plunge all extra balls. What was frustrating was the documentation for the machine location was incorrect in multiple instances for my rounds alone.

    Quoted from MythMaker:

What has worked well in the past was just to have the group find each other in the tournament area, and then go pick any open game on the free play floor and play it instead of assigning games at the desk.

After playing in the York tournament a couple of years ago where players negotiated over playing a game, I don't see this working out well.

The format worked well at York in 2017. We don't need an overhaul. Just remove potentially long games, plunge extra balls and get the game location documentation straight.

Thanks! I like that idea on the assumption that machine owners won't have a problem with Post-Its, which we can vet ahead of time with owners if need be.

Why not stick cards on the backglass similar to what you're doing with PHILA Pinball?
