    Quoted from hoby1:

The total shit this guy was selling was a joke.
    1400 Dr Who
No driver, cpu acid damage , no mini playfield, no topper. Ramps all epoxyed together. Total Junk!!!
2000 Stargate that hasn't been played in years missing most and dry rotted rubbers.
Nothing was up and running and had shopped prices on them
Even on a low ball offer of 500 on the Dr who I would feel I got screwed.
    What a joke

A reason for prices on both of the titles cited there.

The mini-playfield for Doctor Who may still be part of an additional load being picked up, it's unknown at this point. No need to blow the machine out if that possibility exists. It was priced at what it was worth to let go if someone by chance had a mini-playfield. Worth more than $500 in parts for sure regardless.

The Stargate is just something the seller was particularly fond of trying out. Price was set at what was worth giving up that chance. In fact quite a few people were told that's what the deal was on that machine.. it was over-priced on intention. That happens in the free-play area too when someone brings something along they don't *need* to get rid of.

IMHO if you pay for a space at any type of venue and bring your stuff, you can ask whatever you want for it. It's your space, your time and your money invested. The only time it's a problem for the seller is if nothing is selling at all. Then prices need to be revisited or the seller just accepts limited sales. Not everyone needs to like the pricing. Hey, if it doesn't work for you -- move onward.

Most of the machines brought didn't go for asking prices. The prices were held firm Thursday, really zero negotiation entertained.. machines not even unwrapped/unfolded. Pretty much as-planned since there just wasn't time for a negotiation dance back-and-forth & crowds of people in the way of moving machines into the space. We were also trying to beat the all-day rain event Friday and get all the machines in on Thursday. Last few machines were brought in around 9pm, just before they were kicking people out of the building.

Like it or not, limiting negotiations like this early-on made it a better show for the bulk of people that hadn't even stepped foot into the building until noon on Friday.

Also in regard to the original topic of this thread. The Rescue 911's, I'm not sure what people were looking for. $700 or under, sign me up as well. That'd been the same price we paid for a Sys3 in worse shape from Coinopwarehouse 4-5 years ago and the market isn't what it was then.

    Provocateur.
