    Quoted from Skidave:

Is the vendor that did the pre-sale on the playfield protectors attending? I'd like to throw some business to them. I cannot recall their name and I may have to dig through the old threads. I purchased from them at the 2019 show, but don't have any PMs saved.

John Barsh, Playfield Protectors is whom you are thinking of. He has just confirmed that they plan to attend.

    Quoted from poppapin:

Will there be playfield glass for sale?

I will have standard glass at the show and doesn’t need to be prepaid. I’m not get much request for custom sizes and not sure if I can get an order in on time. I’ll be checking on that this week. For Standard glass, I currently have about a 100 sheets. I may try to get more.

If there is a need for something specific or if you’d like to reserve some, now is the time to let me know.

If you provide the dimensions I could get it.

    #404 2 years ago

Just checked with my supplier and I can still get glass. I have about a week or so to get my order in. Of course I’m hearing about a price increase AGAIN! I have to listen to this every year.

Anyway, I’ve requested a quote for standard size to see where we are. Last years price was $40 per sheet. I suspect it may be a couple of bucks more. Custom stuff was $50 to $58 if I recall correctly. Custom stuff was prepaid as well as reserved pieces.

Let me know what you want.

    Quoted from Bulskis9298:

I need glass for my data east GnR will you have them?

I believe that’s the same size as a Williams super pin. I’d double check it but can get it. I suggest you pm me so I have you on my list. I’ll quote to you and then you can decide.

    Quoted from cmndr-brain:

Every time I've gone to Pinfest, all the vendors are out of playfield glass. They've said that they only had a few extras after pre-orders. Does anyone know which vendors will take pre-orders on glass? Which one's will have bulk buy sales? I'm probably looking to buy at least 5.

Couldn’t have been last year. I took home about 90 sheets of standard. Anyway, pm me your need and I’ll get you taken care of.

Any pictures of this year's Pinfest shirt ? Asking for a friend

Please disregard. Wasn’t appropriate to share at this point.

Updated maps for this year are up. There are a few spaces still available. If you think you’d like to try vending in the main hall or flea market let me know. Many of the details about that and registration are on our pinfestival.com website.

Mantis Amusement is joining us this year. Kerry has a large catalog of pinball products and may have limits to what he brings. We suggest you reach out to him so he could bring your needs along. Marco Specialties and Coin Taker are others that typically will bring special orders as well.

Regarding your glass needs! Standard sheets are $45 this year. I did my best and made some sacrifice to get you the best price I can. Looks like it’s time to find sources over seas going forward. I’ll be reaching out to those that asked for specific (custom sizes) today with quotes. My drop dead date for ordering special sizes is tomorrow. It’s now or next year for your needs. I submit my order Thursday morning. Please pm me if there is something you want.

Glass pick up is next to our reception desk at the front gate as usual. Those with reservations or specific orders will need to bring those documents we provide. We’ll have a copy on hand.

    Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

    Thats awesome Ivan!
Can you tell us if there will be any vendors with new Pinball machines at the show to demo? I understand there is not enough supply to have stock you can buy and take home, but in previous years Pinball Star has brought new games to the show and I believe Cointaker has as well in previous years.
Thanks for making this all happen!

WOW! I was just responding with lackluster news regarding Stern and Cointaker calls. They will have twelve brand new titles setup to play in addition to several others in their booth. A bunch of Aliens and other stuff that I’m not sure of. Pinball Star will be sharing space with Spooky this year. Spooky is bring games and there is JJP and Chicago Gaming I guess. Perhaps Joe Newhart will chime in. Marco typically brings some games but hasn’t reported. They usually don’t.

Maybe the good old days (pre-Covid) are back? The vendors are coming! Freeplay still feels a bit week. Please register your free play games if you’re planning. I’m thinking my hair won’t get any grayer if we have a great freeplay presence.

As always, your support is what makes this show what it is.

    Quoted from Gunloc:

Design looks great. I'd rank them:
    1. Purple
    2. Green
    3. Orange

looks looks like purple is the big winner on Facebook. Green is a short second. Evidently I’m the only one that liked the orange???. Please also chime in with shirt sizes. Maybe we could get that right one of these years.

    Quoted from DorkInAbox:

Now there are four of us that like orange.

Shirts design++ .. Any chance the vendor can do a 'tall' sized shirts like a Large Tall ?

    Let’s not get crazy

    Quoted from Tophervette:

Purple Nurple Tshirt in 2xl size. I wore my Blue one today from last year and it is so soft compared to some of my other Tshirts.

We wear ours all the time. I’m lucky to have my shirt guy. He gets decent quality and the print has no issues. Early stuff we had done has thick silk screen and cracks. They look like crap after a few years. I’ve been particular happy with the artist and printer from the last few years.

Here is something you don’t see every day. Since we’re cleaning out our closets I thought I’d add this. This is a Doug Huse recreation of a Black Knight cabinet built to spec . I Can’t say if he still does these. It’s been hanging around waiting for the right donor that never did for maybe eight years or so.

I’m offering it for $1,600 which is what it sold for back then. I have no idea what they’d go for today.

Will bring to the show with some deal in place.

Ivan may open up the doors before noon Friday so his paying customers don't get soaked to the bone. Key word is “may”

I can say we will be pre-selling tickets early so you can go do something while you wait. We MAY! Open a bit earlier if the rain becomes a problem. Please understand that our vendors need to be ready and some are coming Friday.

As always, we are excited to see you all! Please, please, please be careful and drive safe. It’s just pinball.

I'm sure a lot of others felt as you did. I believe that this is the first time Ivan had the show on MDW.
I guess it's because of the way the calendar worked out this year, but I hope it doesn't happen again.

Actually we put up with Mother’s Day weekend every six years. It’s not the first time.

One of my crew has come down with Covid as well. It’s his second time and he is fully vaccinated. He says this time was the worst for him. Rest of my crew is currently fine. Kind of strange that we all spent time with him in confined space at one point or another. One of my guys stated that a regular attendant of the show looked like dead man walking. This is a terrible shame as some who contracted this chose to stay home. My hats off to those who chose to be responsible.

    Ivan great show as always!
Thank you for putting on a great show!
Forgive me if it’s already been asked but was there a septic/sewer gas problem or was it some A hole with “stink bombs”?

I suspect it was a combination of the two. I reported it to the maintenance guys when first reported Friday. There was nothing found unusual though the extensive rain my have had something to do with it. The jackass with the stink bombs was confirmed by a few. It was particularly obvious up by the coin taker/ Tilt Graphics booth for a lot of the show. I hope the delinquent had a great laugh.

Every year this show has a surprise of some sort.

I think I know who you mean. My brother and I set up his game for him. I felt like Mother Theresa tending to Ebola patients.
I thought he would be our first in-show fatality.

“ I felt like Mother Theresa tending to Ebola patients.” That’s hilarious I’m thankful the show hasn’t checked that box, yet!

    #2221 1 year ago

I guess we can now call this a super spreader event! I’ll check that box! Only a few more to go.

    Quoted from jibmums:

How about it Ivan, what's the story there?

Well! Only one name comes to mind, of a particular douche bag, that would bring this up, Scott F’ing Charles! LOL is this you? This tale is in fact true. It had happened at my very first event at Merchant Square back in 2009. A guy in Philly contributed games, that I picked up, for the show. I was setting up said games for the show. This particular Black Knight didn’t have the colored plugs so you could easily tell what went where. The two plugs you could cross were the same color and in my haste I didn’t realize this. I basically turned an otherwise lovely Black Knight into an ash tray. I remember Scott just kinda looking at me with that look (if you know him) letting me know that there was no recovering from this train wreck. If I remember correctly there was smoke coming out of it. Yes! The good old days. I almost forgot about that but it was most embarrassing to say the least. The owner was understanding and my compensation for the blunder was minimal.

For the record, this isn’t something that’s particularly easy to do otherwise on most games. Everything is typically keyed or idiot proofed, but not everything. If in doubt, check the wire colors for future reference. The game you save could be mine.
