To reply to 4 people at once. The past 12 or 14 years have been some of the craziest years of my life. Over 600 machines plus tens of thousands of dollars in parts passed through this house and it all started when Wayne said "what do you think about putting a gameroom in the basement" of the house we bought together about 14 years ago. For those of you that don't know Barb & I live in the small In-Law quarters & Wayne & his wife have the main house.
Anyway this has not made "the journey" easy. Since everything I am doing is done out of 1/2 of a two car garage and an area in the basement smaller than a two car garage in a house that isn't mine. That is why I have done things the way I have - not because I am trying to be an ASS but because my work area & staging area is VERY LIMITED.
As far as "retirement tour" I wish this was all behind me already. And for those of you that didn't see me at the show riding around in a Hoveround Power Chair and loading & unloading a van and trailer full of stuff when you can hardly walk isn't a lot of fun. But I am old school and do what I have to do.
I had hoped Allentown three years ago was going to be my very last show but as luck would have it trying to help a few people out had me needing to be in Allentown all three days of the show. At that point I figured I might as well take a space (supporting the show) & rent a room instead of driving the 200 mile round trip to Allentown three days in a row & while paying $4+ dollars a gallon for fuel.
As far as me doing York in the Fall - our current collection is down to 9 machines - 5 or 6 of those are going to get sold. So I decided to just plan on doing York this Fall instead of selling them one at a time from the house. If those last 5 or 6 machines sell before York you will not see me at York (or any other show) again. But if I still have two (or more) of those machines for sale when the York Show gets here I will support the show by taking a space instead of making parking lot deals and not supporting the show.
As far as "too-many-words" I couldn't agree more. I can't spell for shit and can't type so every post I make takes me basically forever. But to "sum things up" in a few words is nearly impossible with all the shit I typically have going on. In the end once these last 5 or 6 machines are sold I'll be closing my Pinside account and you will not have to read my long post ever again. For now if you don't like reading my post I recommend using a great feature on Pinside called "ignore too-many-pins post".
Anyway thanks to everyone who stopped by the show to say hello. And a big THANK YOU to anyone who bought from me helping me get to the end of this journey ASAP.
For now all I can say is it has been fun while it lasted but it is time for this old guy to move on to something smaller & lighter so that is why I have become "too-many-trains". The crazy thing is I got back into buying & selling trains a couple years ago (suppose to be on a small scale) and in less than two years my sales of trains & trains parts online has surpassed anything I ever did with the pinball parts. At 68 years old it wasn't suppose to happen that way! I just want to retire & relax!
