    Quoted from mbrave77:

Yea I dont need to come to show to work with melissa. Shes my main dealer. Was more wondering about the regular folks like us. Im
Used to making cash transactions, just not bringing thousands just in case

I’ll probably never buy a game at Pinfest, since I’m not comfortable carrying thousands of dollars on me. I regretted not having cash on me last year, but that’s the way it goes. I wonder what machine I’m going to miss out on this year?
I do miss the days when checks were king.

    #902 2 years ago
    Quoted from mbrave77:

Ill be coming to allentown friday. If im in the market for a game do I just bring a shit ton of cash? Or do most accept paypal FF?

Cash is king. Can't do a reverse payment on cash a month (or more) later.

    #903 2 years ago

Also, Paypal is going to send the seller a 1099 if they take in over $600 starting this year. Some folks not paying attention are going to be in for a surprise come tax time next year.

Before everyone freaks out I think it's only if you're paying for "goods and services" aka seller paying PayPa fees

    #905 2 years ago

    To piggyback on that:

    https://www.zenledger.io/blog/does-paypal-report-to-irs-on-friends-and-family#:~:text=Does%20everyone%20receive%20a%20Form,(not%20personal%20payments)%2C%20and

I don't know if family and friends can be reversed, but that seems to be the only concern.

    Quoted from Tophervette:

I won't be able to get there till saturday and feel all the good deals will be long gone. However, I will be looking for some Bally WPC style legs in good condition. I am also looking for a clear back box glass for my Dr. Who translite poster. Hoping that Tilt will have some game blades for the Doctor Who as well. I am supposed to find some standard size Invis or HD or Voodoo glass for a neighbor. And lastly mods for a Mando for neighbor as well.

I'll have a bunch of used Bally/Williams legs in my booth like I've had in the past. I like to put new legs on games and the used ones must clean up pretty good because they usually sell out every year. $15 a set

List of games coming soon, still shopping some and doing other extras. GNR LE should be there for sure & Mando Pro. If you follow me on Butch's Game Garage LLC on Facebook you probably have an idea what's coming. I post them as I pick them up there..

Looking for a brass lockdown bar for a WMS Fire - Champagne Edition.

Butch's $15 legs are a great deal if you are looking for decent legs at a great price. I have bought a bunch of them over the years to put on machines we were selling.

    Latest tournament info:

Allentown Certified Stern Pro Circuit Tournament - May 6-7, 2022: Sponsors and Games Revealed!

Greg “WPPRelli” Poverelli, “Crazy” Levi Nayman, and Tim “Timballs” Sexton are proud to present the 2022 Allentown Pinfest IFPA Tournament, a Stern Pro Circuit and IFPA certified event with the 20 percent WPPR boost that provides the maximum possible competition value for pro pinball players on the circuit. With the top-flight production team complete and full IFPA certification, Pinfest 2022 is shaping up to be the boomiest Pinfest IFPA tournament ever!

2022 Allentown Pinfest IFPA Tournament team:
    Greg Poverelli: Tournament Director
    Tim Sexton: Tournament Assistant Director
    Levi Nayman: Executive Producer
    Backhand Pinball: Official Streamer

    Tournament format:
A $100 ticket enters competitors into the Main Open tournament and pays for all entries. There is no pre-registration, and this event is cash only. Players are encouraged to arrive as close to the 12 pm kickoff as possible, to ensure that all players get their 12 entries in by the 9 pm cutoff.
Qualifying time is limited to all day Friday, May 6, 12 noon to 9 pm, and it is a limited entry format. All competitors will play 12 entries on 12 different machines in a tournament bank of up to 20 machines, and all entries will count toward qualifying position. Finals, starting at 9:30 am on Saturday, May 7, will consist of the top 24 qualifiers in A Division. There will also be a B Division finals for the next 24 qualifiers ranked outside the top 100 IFPA rankings as of May 6, 2022. Please note, the B finals results will not affect the final IFPA submission and are for prizes and trophies only. All 48 finalists will win a cash payout.
Finals will be PAPA style four-player group scoring, 4-2-1-0 scoring. Finals matches will be played on pre-selected banks encompassing all eras, ensuring a diverse and exciting finals experience for players and viewers watching on stream. Highest seed has choice of bank. The same bank cannot be selected twice by the same player, and banks may change between rounds. Payouts will be guaranteed to all finalists.
A guaranteed minimum payout of $1,000 will go to the A Division winner, with amounts for all other finalists to be determined by the total number of players entered into the tournament. A minimum of 60 percent of tournament income in entry fees are dedicated to cash payouts for finalists.
The main event will also track standings for kids aged 15 and under, who will have a reduced entry fee of $40. The Kid’s finals will award trophies and non-cash prizes.
There will be an IFPA sanctioned Women’s tournament with a dedicated 4-game bank, $25 entry with trophies and full cash payout, with limited entry on a number of games to be determined. The finals for both will also be PAPA format with top 8 qualifiers. Please note due to time restrictions, anyone who qualifies in both the main as well as the women’s or kid’s finals might have to play both concurrently.
The PAPA / IFPA rule set will be in effect. All rulings made and decisions by the tournament directors are final.

    Sponsors:
The 2022 Allentown Pinfest IFPA Tournament is proud to announce the following sponsors for their support: Platinum Sponsor Comet Pinball, American Pinball, Stern Pinball, Spooky Pinball, Pinballstar, Cointaker, The World Famous Rock Fantasy Rock and Pinball shop, Brooklyn’s own Jackbar, Pingraffix, Project Pinball, and Backhand Pinball. Thanks to all our awesome sponsors for their support and prize contributions!

    T-Shirts:
An awesome original event t-shirt for the tournament has been designed. Shirts will be $20 when purchased along with tournament entry, or $25 when purchased as a standalone item.

Volunteers – Scorekeeping and Pinball Mahcines:
The Tournament Directors are seeking volunteers for desk registration and scorekeeping assistance. There will be an exclusive hour of qualifying time available for these volunteers, 9:15 to 10:15 pm on Friday, May 6. Compensation will also be offered based on the number of hours volunteering.
The Tournament Directors are also seeking a couple more tournament-quality games encompassing all eras. Free entry to the show and to the tournament (a $140 value) is offered, along with possible other financial considerations for multiple games or for people who aren’t playing in the tournament.

    Preliminary Game List:
Thanks also to our awesome game volunteers, who are bringing an amazing group of games for our tournaments. List is subject to change, and the final banks (both Main and Women’s) will be announced closer to the event.

That statement in that link is incorrect. That states the old rule of a total of $20,000 and 200 transactions in a year. As of January it is now for a total of $600 for the year. Not sure on how many transactions though. As for friends and family it is not automatically reported. It's only for goods and service. However once you reach so many transactions it can be reported because you look like like a business. This is direct from PayPal.

I might be bringing my NGG Gofers for freeplay and to sell or trade. Good players condition. Would love to trade it for something similar in value, lower priced 90’s dmd or really nice System 11.

I’d also be open to trade+cash upward! See my wishlist, I also really like IM.

I shut all electronic payments down because of this. I'll be damned if I'm going to give Ebay, Paypal, or Venmo my social security number on top of my bank routing and account numbers. Just one security lapse and that's a recipe for disaster...on top of explaining every goddamn payment you received on your 1099. And btw...the rule is that you have to prove that if you sold something, you have to have an original purchase receipt proving you sold it for less than you bought it so that you didn't profit from the sale. Yeah, okay...like I kept receipts from things I bought 10 years ago because I knew we'd suddenly have an asinine tax code in 2022.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

    Quoted from arcademojo:

That statement in that link is incorrect. That states the old rule of a total of $20,000 and 200 transactions in a year. As of January it is now for a total of $600 for the year. Not sure on how many transactions though. As for friends and family it is not automatically reported. It's only for goods and service. However once you reach so many transactions it can be reported because you look like like a business. This is direct from PayPal.

Mayfair had one of those two, either "Far Out", or "Out Of Sight".
NOS, I believe. Maybe he has both.
