There was a very nice showing of wood rails last year. Hoping for the same this year!

I am looking for a Gottlieb Straight Shooter in original players condition or better. All conditions considered.
Added over 4 years ago:Also looking for the following:
Gottlieb Auto Race
Gottlieb Stagecoach
Quoted from Lermods:It’s more than just about the health of Lehigh county and just as much about how many people travel to the show from the entire region.
Exactly, and what the infection rate is where THEY are coming from. Sorry, but I think the appetite for that kind of exposure is very low at this point. If the show does proceed, I suspect only the diehards will show up.
Only a year ago, I remember the look of amazement on so many faces when they saw a line wrapped around the parking lot to go in. Who would have thought we would be facing this a year later.
I hope we're not looking back at this time a year from now in the same way.
Quoted from ibuypinballs:Was refunded as well today. Ivan pretty much pulled the plug on the show for this year in post #465. Lets hope York happens.
The Hershey Antique Car show which is always the same week as the York show was cancelled this week. It is the largest antique car swap meet in the world.
What if we just pretend it is going to happen and then pretend it did happen and then post about it like it happened.
Big agriculture show at the fairgrounds next week. Hopefully this means brighter things on the horizon!
Quoted from bluespin:Anyone that feels that their freedom is being infringed on by having to get vaccinated can stay home.
How about anyone who doesn't want the risk of getting COVID can stay home, and the rest of us can have a show without having our freedoms infringed upon?
Quoted from ForceFlow:I'm sure quite a bit of cash and a large number of games change hands.
Aside from the first show I ever attended, I've brought at least one game to sell at each one. I think more often than not I made a sale. Certain titles sell well at shows, while others simply don't. Lesser titles don't generally sell well when stacked against more popular or flashier titles just a few slots (rather than actual miles) away.
I haven't bought too many games off the free play floor, but I have bought several projects from the flea markets.
One year, I pre-bought an uncommon EM game, picked it up at the show, made some minor adjustments, cleaned it, waxed it, and set it up on free play. While I had intended to bring it home to enjoy for a while, someone who was very enthusiastic about the game made me an offer I couldn't say no to.
It's really hard to predict what might sell and what might not. Sometimes you get lucky and there's that one person that just has to have that one particular title. Or you get unlucky and that's the year 5 other people decide to bring the same title.
Judging by the prices I’ve seen recently I think there’s a lot of pent up demand. Hopefully that results in a good turnout. I’ve always considered shows as the least amount of hassle for both buying and selling.
Really hoping for a good showing of woodrails this year. The 2019 show had lots of fun titles that were reasonably priced.
Still looking for a Gottlieb Auto Race and a Gottlieb Straight Shooter.
Quoted from Ivan1496:Hey all, regarding glass. We have a bit of a problem! My manufacture has sold the division that provided my glass. I’m currently looking for another source. This is a huge bummer. I was really pleased to offer this at the show. It may be over. The good news is I still have a few hundred sheets of standard. The custom stuff is up in the air. I’ll report back when I have news to share.

Pinfest 2021
Are you still taking orders for standard glass? If we do not have an order with you already, how would we go about placing one for pickup at the show?
Quoted from Gotemwill:Sounds like vendor spaces have filled up. How’s the free play area looking?
I’m betting everyone will be glad to get out of the house and play some games other than theirs! Hopefully it’ll also result in a course correction for game prices!
Quoted from pinhead52:have a rough Spin-A-Card coming, if anybody just hast to have it. bg nice
Other tittles 300, Stripes and Solids, and a dozen other tittles

You’re bringing a dozen+ games to Pinfest??
Quoted from too-many-pins:As a former vendor at several shows I will say there is a reason vendors don't say what they are bringing ahead of time in most cases. The issue is it becomes a total PITA. People say they want something and never show up, other people show up and ask where ___ ____ machine is and then are mad you sold it two hours earlier, etc.
When selling at shows it just becomes easier to show up with a load of machines and let buyers find you at the show. Sadly I had to learn this the hard way but people just don't understand how hard it is to try and keep everyone happy. The easiest solution is to say less about your load and just let customers find you at the show.
I will not be making it to Allentown this year but have several working projects I'll be selling shortly. Other than a Silverball Mania project for around $900 I don't know what else might end up for sale this Fall but I know about a dozen machines from our collection still need to find new homes.
As far as Allentown goes - everyone have fun and enjoy one of the best pinball shows anywhere. Ivan & his crew do a great job with Allentown every year and I think this year is going to be the best show yet! Wishing everyone well and remember life is too short to "sweat the little stuff" - things will never go perfectly but that is just how life is!
This is REALLY great advice.
This thread is on fire! Man, so pumped for this years show.
What’s the scene usually like on Fridays? All of the free play games in by then?
Quoted from djreddog:Just arrived and it’s looking like Black Friday!! People are camping out a day early!![quoted image]
Quoted from too-many-pins:How was the turnout today? From pictures posted crowd looks a little light?
Pretty good I would say!
I think the # of free play games was about 80% of 2019. Each of the rows seemed a bit shorter.
I will reserve my opinions on the quality of games until the show is over.

Quoted from zacaj:Is there a need to turn off games when we leave? I'd just left mine on when I went to the hotel for the night, assumed they'd cut the power to everything soon...
I hope you used 47s!
Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:El Dorado marked down to $1500. Solid game! Get your first E.M.[quoted image]
Wowzer!
Wish I was there today to make a deal on the Flipper Cowboy! Man I was tempted on that one, what a great game.
Hate to be the one to say it but that El Dorado probably would have sold earlier if it was on the right height legs. That’s crazy I know, but people are weird that way.
I really enjoyed the show this year. I especially appreciated the folks that brought out awesome games for free play that weren’t for sale. This is a true labor of love!
I’m a huge woodrail fan, and while the showing was a bit light this year, the quality of the titles more than made up for it. Dragonette is a pure joy. Adding it to the wishlist! Sitting Pretty, always a privelage to play. And some great Williams titles from this era too.
I think we’re all hoping the show makes an abbreviate appearance in the Spring of next year.

There really isn’t any other option for them. We all know this type of game. The one that’s been sitting for a while not being played or in storage not setup at all. They make sure they generally play and reset and then slap a price tag on it to get rid of it. This has always been the case at these shows but probably was more apparent this year due to the smaller number of games in the free play area.
One idea might be to have an area setup just for these types of games (project, as-is, etc.) but it would be very subjective as to what meets the criteria. The best judge is the player as we’ve already pointed out.
There’s probably some folks who think their dud is just fine and have a whole room full of them setup at home that play the same way.
Quoted from jrpinball:And don't you just love it when they sometimes use your game as a table!
Ugh!
If I knew that was a thing people liked, I would have bought the Road Race at the show and loosened the flipper set screws so that there were 3 rotating bumper arrows!
Relax, we’re just having conversation. Clearly everyone had a great time which is why we’re still talking about it.
I was going to purchase one just to experiment with playfield restoration techniques. Many of them were in very rough shape.
