I’ll have a nice Williams Swingtime mostly working in the flea. PF and glass are nice cabinet is painted white. I might hit it with spatter and just stencil it.

So far so good but may be pushed back to mid June

I can’t do mid June , that would BLOW

    At this point I think
York is the only show us East Coasters will have. Some reports say this virus won’t peak for another 6 weeks.

    2 weeks later
    #346 4 years ago
    Quoted from eabundy:

Those reports are BS. I've done my own numbers and the avg time to peak infections is less than 22 days. "Flattening the curve" may extend it here in the US a bit but no way the peak is anywhere close to 6 weeks here. Reports last night said the numbers are actually slowing down where they thought they were going to double.
I'm a half glass full guy though.[quoted image]

2 weeks later, here we are . This sucks but I’m reevaluating 2020. Just think how lucky we are to have games at home. I did learn a valuable lesson: Never book non -refundable . I was promised a refund from AA, they lied. Fool me once....

    #365 4 years ago
    Quoted from Alan_L:

What, because you fell off the wagon?

My medication doesn’t mix with alcohol and I was talking American Airlines .

    #366 4 years ago

What about people Laid off for two months just getting back to work. Companies may frown upon time off requests for people coming off quarantine. It’s a mess for sure. Looking at the maps I’m not thrilled about travel from a hot zone through the epicenter to another hot spot. I feel bad for the nice people at the Farmers Market . If schools are closed for the year I’d say that’s a very good barometer of PA allowing large gatherings in mid June. My 2 cents.

    2 weeks later
    #390 3 years ago
    Quoted from Lermods:

It’s more than just about the health of Lehigh county and just as much about how many people travel to the show from the entire region. There is no way this show will happen in June. If it does, attendance would be awful. I don’t know what expenses have been incurred by the promoters, but hopefully not much and we can look forward to next year. I don’t see us attending this year, summer is very tough and September isn’t any better with kids going back to school. Like so many other things in life lately, disappointments keep building up.

A lot of expenses from the people who fill up the shows too. I got a credit for my Allentown hotel and my flight to Texas I got miles. It’s still cash tied up. I got totes of flea stuff all priced and stacked that are going to get dusty. Normally I’d be going to the store purchasing road snacks. This blows! Figures when gas is a buck and a quarter a gallon there is no show.
Side note: Big shout out to Ivan for doing his best in these uncertain times.

Wish I was eating a Steak & cheese pretzel wrap right about now.

    #441 3 years ago
    Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Yeah it's not quite as nice as the snackbar inside the hall lol.

Yup that snack bar pizza makes Dominos taste good! When the bottom of your pizza has “this end up” it’s never good.

Any day now we’re going to
Put a fork in 2020 pinball shows.

Major bummer it’s cancelled but we saw the writing on the wall. Pinfest 2021 here we go.

    3 weeks later
    #512 3 years ago
    Quoted from Colsond3:

That is the key. You help out the show, and you get into see all the goodies before everybody else does.

This ^. Guys that bring shit get rewarded. Waiting in line with a crisp Jackson gets you entry on Friday or Saturday. The free play games, vendors, and flea guys go the extra mile and risk damage to their games and wares. Not to Mention the time we spend loading and unloading ... twice. Now add in paying for floor space. Our incentive is Thursday early entry.

So if York can’t open because the state won’t allow the White Rose Show, how many games are going to Allentown? Could be the biggest Pinfest ever. Guaranteed the flea marketers and the venders will have 2-3 times as many games and wares to sell. 2021 Might be the Allentown show to talk about for years. Register early , book your room early: my $.02.

Put a fork in Pinball show’s. They’re done. Hopefully we get a vaccine or miracle to happen sooner than later. Sadly, as it stands 2021 doesn’t look very promising. Two years with no pretzel cheese steaks qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment.

    3 months later
    #649 3 years ago
    Quoted from TaTa:

Oh.... I will be vaccinated. That outfit is for the crop dusting, bad hygiene, nose pickers and anti hand washers after going to the bathroom!!!!

Definition of panic: 2 large coffees and a bran muffin then sweating inside a tyvek suit and it’s stuck to your arms and torso.

Looking for a used Hit the Deck Playfield in reasonably good shape.

    #772 2 years ago
    Quoted from PinballAir:

It is Wyndham and I did send them an email saying just that.
I booked with them anyway because I like that hotel in Allentown.

There is a separate thread for Hotel Talk, but this post does not upset me in the least. What I found at that location is that you need to get a room on the inside corridor away from 222. Those trucks roll by all night long and if you are a light sleeper you may not enjoy your stay.

    Added over 3 years ago:

This is for the Wyndham now Holiday Inn Junction of 222/78 South of Highway, not the one directly across from Dorney . It is now owned by Holiday Inn. Heavy truck traffic rolls by all night long.

Is there a list of free play games that will be there on the Pinfest website? I can't seem to find one, I only see the vendor and flea market floorplans.

    They used to
Post that but I haven’t seen it in years.

The Metrando games for Pinfest 2021. Two will be on the show floor and two will be in the flea market. I will also have an Exhibit (ESCO) Stars Jeep Version body (no head) and a project Gtb. World Beauties and an empty Gtb Sys 1 cabinet with head in the flea. In addition will have several neons, beer signs, advertising and pinball parts in the flea.

I came home lighter on the truck and heavier in the wallet. Ate a pretzel cheesesteak saw old friends, made new friends. Re: Quality of pins See Pintastic. They have a tech on site and you give the show your keys, and a system to report issues. This keeps more games up and running. If a game is a POS or just can’t be fixed, it gets dollied away off the free play area. Great show and thanks to Ivan for having it.

    #2099 2 years ago

Yup didn’t overeat this show tons of grease in them. I was one & done but it’s tradition so you have to have one. I slathered mine in their red sauce which is outstanding.

You picked up two games, right?

Still swollen up from the hornet attack, Benadryl makes me

I enjoyed those home made brownies, seems to be a tradition

Anyone got a date for 2022? Personally I’m not a fan of heat and humidity. Glad we had the show this year but hoping it goes back to the beginning of May.
