    Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

I think I talked to you as you wheeled it out! (Maybe) there were 2 city Slicker’s there. I need someone to scan that backglass so I can get a translite made. Mine came without one.
Who had the project cowpoke? A family member just reached out and talked about playing one as a kid. I’d like to get one they can play to relive those memories. They don’t want to own it as they’ve been to my shop and seen how much it takes to keep games running

That was me. If you find a place near me that can scan it reliably I will take it there for you.

    Quoted from knockerlover:

I bought a city slicker from Al Savary which he said used to be Cliff Alberts.. It looks nice next to nine ball and demo man on steroids!

This is interesting. Was it next tot he Phantom of the Opera? I only ask because my Phantom was next to a City Slickers, and I sold Phantom to Al!

I really enjoyed the show this year. I especially appreciated the folks that brought out awesome games for free play that weren’t for sale. This is a true labor of love!

I’m a huge woodrail fan, and while the showing was a bit light this year, the quality of the titles more than made up for it. Dragonette is a pure joy. Adding it to the wishlist! Sitting Pretty, always a privelage to play. And some great Williams titles from this era too.

I think we’re all hoping the show makes an abbreviate appearance in the Spring of next year.

Hi, thanks for the interest on CSI. I was a little shocked at how many people played it. Every time I did a loop to check on my games in free play someone new was enjoying it. Maybe they were attracted to it initially because it’s so rare? I think the theme is “meh” but I’ve never watched the show. However, the gameplay and the toys are cool. Maybe one day I’ll get sick of it… but I’ve probably played it less than 20 times max so far. There’s still some more restoration to do on it but it’s a good playing machine and I’m happy to keep it in the collection. I marked it down at the end to $4900 just so I wouldn’t have to put it back in the van. Anything less and I would have not wanted to part with it. I’m glad it didn’t sell - it’s unpacked and back in the lineup. I sold a good number of machines though as I needed to clear out my project backlog. I try not to be insulted by people’s offers or asks. I can’t tell someone they are wrong when they tell me what it is worth to THEM. I can only tell you what it’s worth to ME. Fun and rare to me equals $$$$.

    Quoted from tp:

I woulda made an offer but he had a price of 5400 on it. It was a nice game but shooter lane (some dont care/I do) told a tale of 10k plus plays if not many more. Wanted to offer 3. To 3.5 but didnt want to insult anyone . If your out there and it's not an insult hit me up and I'll come pick it up today or tomorrow.

    Joe

Ha! That was my old city slicker, which I sold joe at york a few years ago. I got it from James Hudson. It’s definitely been around!

Made out like a bandit. Got my wall hangers, traded for a Sorcerer, and Rick and Morty was rock solid and got 519 plays. Was shocked no-one bought by El Dorado at 2017 prices. Have someone local picking it up this weekend.

Oh, that was your Rick and Morty? I played it right after you put in the new spring on Saturday morning. Did it need anything else adjusted by the end of the day? It was a fun game. Thx for bringing it.

Long shot...but I grabbed this slot from a very cool dude in the flea market, unfortunately he either misplaced the top award glass or it walked away. If anyone located it, please let me know. Thanks!

You are welcome. Nope! It was rock solid. I will drop about $4 on some new Titan post covers but other than that you can't tell it was even played. I am waiting for the ground to dry out before I bring it back into my basement and will do a full diagnostics at that time.

Anybody know who makes the wooden half circle and scissors jack combo to help you put a pin on its back legs by yourself? There was one for sale for $100 on Sat but I hesitated and then it was gone...I got to thinking what a big help that would be to have!

I have been using one of these for years. Holds up to a 1,000 pounds. I put some felt pads on top as well. Folds up for easy storage.

And not to be outdone by the woodrails, here are some of the great wedgeheads that I thought really played and presented well.

And if you saw that Dragonette when it was first picked up by its current owner, and guy responsible for going over it, you would appreciate it even more! It was a pile of rubble when Pat got that game. He wasn't certain if he could bring it back at first. It was that bad!!! He did a hell of a job on it!!

Thanks for the kudos... I didn't quite have it as dialed in as I'd like
... that center and upper kickout threw the ball SDTM way more than designed... had it worked out Saturday afternoon... sorry I couldn't have gotten to it a bit sooner on Friday. I'll be bringing it to York come October!!

For me? Stuff I didn't know existed. Tilt had cool pingulp stickers there with themes to match machines. Bought a few at $5 each. Not on their website but you can ask for it. Also cool that I am considering for down the road is the pinnovator multi sub tap. Looked to be $70 at the show. Hook up 5 pins to one sub. Will have to pick up one up if/when I get a powered sub. The pingraphix powerblades looked amazing in person and picked up a set for a friend who couldn't make it to the show.

Ah darn. I saw it in the tournament area and figured there was a good chance it was the same one. Unfortunately didn't play in the tourney this year so I didn't get to play it but I recognize your name on cards every year and your games always play really great. I think there was a year or two or a combo of allentown and york where you brought a really nice Bristol Hills and I just couldn't stop playing it. I'll grab something off you one of these years.

That Bristol Hills was a nice example to start. It was easy to make pristine. A guy who's an over the road trucker bought it. It's in Florida. My Top Card got over 250 plays despite having a few problems that I had to repair on Friday. Thank you for the nice words.

This was my best show ever. Been going most years for the past 10. But was able to go with a pinball friend and get to meet old and new friends. Was there before they opened Friday and stayed until lights were going out. I only played three machines but I’m ok with that.

Thanks to Ivan and everyone who was participating for setting up another great event! I even picked up a project that I wasn’t expecting to do.

    #2037 2 years ago

Overall it was a good show. Bought too much, didn't sell much.
Happy to have come, but if I am a vendor again it would be more of a promotional display about my product lines.

I wanted to come by and buy a couple of things but I was too early on one day and too late on the other. Didn't have much time out of my booth but your products have been great in the past and I would definitely buy from you again!

Great show and kudos to Ivan and the wonderful staff and volunteers who continue to make this great show possible. My only gripe is just the quality of play on the older games; too many EMs stunk up the joint play-wise; it sheds a poor light on how fun some of these mechanical gems can be. I'd say half of the older games on the floor played poorly. From lack of proper slope, leaning too far right/left, stand-up targets that wouldn't properly score, flippers misaligned and lacking power, pops that didn't pop, missing free game/score cards, or were just down for the count for hours on end.

To those who bring high quality games (and gladly this is the majority), kudos to you, I know what it takes to get these games tweaked and lugging them to shows, it's not easy, but we can do better. I'd like to see Ivan and crew come up with a way to help get the quality where it needs to be on these older games; just not sure how it could be enforced; something to ponder though.

One of the issues for the older games is diminished line voltage due to the large number of games operating simultaneously.
My game plays much snappier at home than it did at the show.
I completely agree though that the "bring a junker just to get in free" issue has to be addressed.
I don't know how without pissing people off.
Sometimes games develop issues during transport, and it happened to my game this time, but it always seems to be the same people with the playfield raised, working on their game the whole show.

Came across plenty of issues on the solid states too. With that many machines going, you know a certain % will have issues. I suspect most people have good intentions. I don't doubt that people do it, but I think somebody would have to be nuts to haul a junker just to get in for free.

My machine played pretty well, but like JR, I could feel the difference. Especially when the whole place was up and running.

If I had to guess, some of what’s happening is that people are bringing project games to the free play area just to sell instead of buying a vendor space. There really isn’t any other option for them. We all know this type of game. The one that’s been sitting for a while not being played or in storage not setup at all. They make sure they generally play and reset and then slap a price tag on it to get rid of it. This has always been the case at these shows but probably was more apparent this year due to the smaller number of games in the free play area.

One idea might be to have an area setup just for these types of games (project, as-is, etc.) but it would be very subjective as to what meets the criteria. The best judge is the player as we’ve already pointed out.

There’s probably some folks who think their dud is just fine and have a whole room full of them setup at home that play the same way.
