I got on line at about 10:30 and was about 15th in line. It's crazy having one person selling admission tickets and only one line going in. There needs to be pre-sale of tickets and/or a second entrance. If I had gotten there at 11:30 and had to wait over an hour to get in I would not have been happy. Is there a reason why they don't open the doors earlier? Why not open at 9 or 10? Just curious. All that being said... it was crowded but it was a great show! I had a great time.

    Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

Jersey Jack was enjoying it while I was packing up my Bad Cats!
    Chris

I enjoyed your Bad Cats today, thanks for bringing it.

Seems like most machines in the freeplay area just had somebody playing but nobody waiting. Wasn't bad at all in my opinion.

    #1953 4 years ago

I have a fully populated, fully working Frontier playfield at the show for $500

    #1954 4 years ago

Down to final 4... Jiggly_Martian may only have 2 left but I believe he's bringing a World Cup soccer tomorrow.

    #1955 4 years ago
    Quoted from dtown:

I took that pic around 11:45. BUT, when I was walking out to my car around 1330, there was still a line. Just to clarify.
Bonus: I saw Mike Pacak and Ivan arguing.

Mike Pacak argue. I’m calling bs.

TOTALLY AVOIDABLE B.S. with the 45+ min lines until 2pm. Cmon man....add another person to the other ticket window, (that sat empty all day) have someone troop the line taking admission and handing the ticket out, or better yet just pre sell tickets outside and provide the wrist bands so that when high noon hits and doors open, there isn’t a ridiculous and unnecessary logjam bottleneck situation.

On another note, had a blast inside, everyone was friendly and respectful.

    Bingo!!

    #1958 4 years ago

If anyone knows Ivan’s contact info please feel free to DM me. I live in Allentown and I can certainly make a new website/payment gateway that enables him to accept pre-sale for next year.

    #1959 4 years ago

If anyone found one of those "Play Pinball Here" signs lying around the tournament area, can you PM me? I accidentally left it behind in the spectator area.

    +1
Totally inexcusable for having only one ticket booth open.I almost got back into my car and headed home. If it was raining, there's no way I would have waited like I did.I'm glad I stayed, because I had a great time!
I was considering on going again this Saturday, but the thought of waiting in a long line again, changed my mind.
    P.S
I'm going to Disney World this coming July,so the Pinfest long line was like going to a long line "Boot Camp". Hopefully, now I got my mind right for Disney world.

Ok. I’m new to The Munsters. I understand it’s getting a bad rap. But this has to be a decent score. Up vote yes so I know I should buy one:

I don’t know anything about Pinfest in particular, but I would assume that, like most festivals, they rely on volunteers to help staff the event. If they don’t have any volunteers for a specific shift, they aren’t able to just add another till when the line gets long.

And as a related note, it’s a lot of fun to volunteer for shows bc you get to meet so many great people!

I am going back today to the show because I am here for 2 days. I am dreading standing in the line.

The line up of games is thin already as usual. If I lived nearby , I probably would not attend. If it is as crowded as yesterday , it will be impossible to play the smaller number of games on the floor that is then cut in 1/2 by the games that don't work or have been turned off by their new owners.

I would suggest a list of back up games to refill the line up.
I cannot come on Thursday to set up. I usually come on Friday for the show opening. I would be willing to bring a game or two on a back up list. Since it is clear that 30% or more of the games are sold and removed before Saturday, a back up list would fill the ranks again on Friday afternoon and Saturday.

On the plus side, pinball is thriving here in PA and with crowds like this should do so for quite a while. I met some cool pinheads and sold some stuff. On those notes it was worth the trip.

Its starting to get a little long now. I got here at 7:45 and am 2nd in line. It's not as bad as the photos yesterday

    #1971 4 years ago

I arrived at 1120 yesterday thinking it would be like last year... two attendants, no line, and letting people in early.

    Nope.

I got in around noon. To the credit of those in line, nobody cut.

Although there was guy a little ways in back of me that seemed to be an expert on most everything and let everyone around him know it. That got a bit old after the first ten minutes.

    #1972 4 years ago

At least you can play all
The new games. I remember 6-7 years ago all you could do is look at the stern boxes and stern dist did not want them played

Doesn't Pinfest do weekend packages? I think these are offered at Pintastic and make a lot of sense. I don't mind paying a little extra to avoid these line-ups.

    #1974 4 years ago

Other shows (chicago) sell a weekend wristband for $50 or $75 which allows entrance to set up and both days shows. No waiting in lines each day or long lines for holders. Simple!

    #1975 4 years ago

I am about an hour from Pinfest in Morris Plains NJ. I have one spot left for a pin and wont be there today. If anyone did not sell a game and wants to deliver it send me a PM. NO EM's nothing over 3K.

    #1976 4 years ago

May the 4th be with you.

    #1977 4 years ago

I have a fully working Williams Doozie for sale on the Free Play floor for 300. Open to offers and trades. Not looking to bring it home.

I’m disappointed with the whining and bitching . Ivan works his ass off to do this for us . I shook his hand and thanked him for his efforts. It’s an awesome show . I waited in line my first year and then realized there were better options. Since then I’ve always brought games or vended or both to support the show . If you want to get in early and not wait in line, there are some other choices you can make. There are regulations and fairgrounds policies that the show must abide by, it’s not as simple as adding another cashier . Peace out . I hope everyone had a great time, I sure did. Can’t wait for 2020.

PINBALL SHOW : PINFEST 2019 WALKTHRU : ALLENTOWN PENNSYLVANIA

Pinfest 2019 has come and gone once again. Another great show and with some great games to be played. Only two new titles were released and present at the show this year (Willy Wonka and Stern’s Black Knight). Thanks to the great pinball distributors for bringing the new games and allowing them to be played.

This year, many people attended the show. The line to get in wrapped around the parking lot like a serpent. It seemed like more people were attending the show than past years either because the crowd was larger and more people are getting into the hobby or because the facility only had one ticket booth open compared to prior years that had two taking your $20 cash only at the door. Maybe in upcoming years the organizers may want to take pre-sales on the Internet for ticket purchasing to the show for speedier lines when the doors open.

Well said Bryan. And let me add that Ivan saw me start playing bus dialed in at 8:50. I had a ridiculous killer game that lasted till around 9:15. He let me finish even though the lights went out and the building was clearing out. I thanked him for letting me finish and for putting together the show. Some things are worth waiting for and this year’s show was awesome. Thank you Bryan as well. You are a pleasure to deal with and as nice a guy as anyone can meet.

Also includes the original manual and a stapled goodie bag with plastic parts extra pieces whatever comes in it and has the key fob with it also has the tournament Marquis on top.
