What kind of condition is the Cosmic Gunfight in?
Quoted from Mitch:No need to be a Richard.
Yeah, that took me a minute to get . It was funny.
But I think Bluespin was making a joke.

I sold my last game I had ready to take to the show the night before. I still wanted to bring a game to sell so Was up all night shopping out my Close Encounters probably didn't get to sleep until 3am. Made it to the show and sat up the pin.
When I turned it on I was getting all 00000 across the displays. Reminded me of the slam tilt issue they're know for or the coin door wiring.
I had this game running perfect. Repined everything, ground mods and disabled the tilts so it could never get the tilt issue.
After about an hour of playing around with it. Some dude walked by and offered some help. Took a couple minutes and he points out I forgot to hook up the J6 connector. Talk about feeling like an ass. I'll blame it on lack of sleep. Game is back up and running smooth again.
PS. To the guy that pointed it out, Just want to say thanks again for the help.
And to everyone else, make sure to stop by and play a game.
Anyone traveling from the upstate NY area? I’m looking for someone to grab a machine for me. I will compensate them for the transport
Leaving end of fay today and may have a couple spots to drop games off in Pittsburgh and Massillon/Canton Ohio till you can pick up. $100 fair?

Hey, it happens. I wouldn't call that a bad start. Just a minor setback. You got it going again, and that's great! I hope to play it today!

Maybe it's all in how one types it but that sounds like a great start for Allentown. A restorer sells out before the show even opens, but to support the show he steps up and pulls an all-nighter to get another game ready to exhibit in free play. When he hits some complications while setting up the game a member of the community offers to help and the fresh eyes ID a simple problem that is an immediate fix. Said restorer posts public kudos for the anonymous helper. Here's another example: I rolled in around 6:00 PM to start setting up my booth and I think I had 10 people offer to help with the setup. This show and the people who come to it are just awesome!
And just to keep my post somewhat on-topic, instead of saying what about my hotel has me posting before 6:00 AM I'll simply invite this great community to browse (and buy stuff!) in my booth! I'm between Rich from The York Show and Dave with the two Playboys, the HUGE CoinStar booth pictured above is right behind me and there is an impressive selection of free play games facing me (e.g., family guy, Iron Maiden, IJ, Bad Cats, ...) This show is full of energy and off to a terrific start!

I have to agree. Best Thursday at Allentown since they started with guards at the doors on Thursday a few years ago. Sold about 1/3 of the machines we took but I still have plenty of stuff for sale.
Off the top of my head I think the count is 10 or 11 machines in the booth yet for sale.
I know these 10 are still their but I think I am forgetting one
3 High Speeds
2 Gold Wings
Road Kings
Pin-Bot
Skateball
Eight Ball Deluxe (might be sold at noon)
Sorcerer (might be sold at noon)
If I sell several of these today I might try to bring a few more machines for Saturday. I still have a few in the garage I didn't have space to bring in the first 3 loads!

Already sounding like I should skip Saturday since we can’t make it today. Many games sold yesterday before the start of the show and the rest will be gone today likely. Want to play Wonka and other new games, but I know Saturday gets to be slim pickings around noon when many games are gone or shut off because they are sold. Guess I’ll play it by ear when I get home from work if I feel like making the 3 hour drive to wake up there in the morning.

Many games change hand on Thursday nights every year. Just the same as many games pre-sell before the show. There are always more games brought.
I brought one game and bought one game last night. Had to take the one I bought down and bring home because I'm bringing another today.
Just cancelled the hotel reservation. We both weren't looking forward to the drive tonight after work and then the rain (always rain!) tomorrow. I know that Saturday is a beat day for the show once lunchtime arrives and I prefer to attend Friday.
Anyone ever use the uhaul 5x8 enclosed trailer to transport machines in? Just curious how many solid state pins I will be able to fit in there.
We have some space in our 16ft enclosed trailer leaving the show on Saturday headed down I95 to central Florida. Can drop off your new project/grail pin found at the show along the way home.
Regards
Al

I get where you're coming from (and saw your post deciding to not attend), but I think this has always been the case. It's just that with forums and facebook, it's a lot more public, and easier to line this stuff up. There's still plenty to do on Friday and Saturday (in my opinion), and while Friday is definitely the sweet spot as far as games on the floor, there's still plenty on Saturday as well (again, in my opinion).
I may be looking through rose colored glasses since I don't have to pay to get in (brought a game for free play) but even if I did I think it would still be worth it.
Chris
I always thought the Friday night set up, sat-sun show allowed for more people to attend and see the best selection of games. Not everyone can take off Friday so a thurs night set up Friday show doesn't allow some to get there in time for best selection.
This results in some people thinking if I can't make it early Friday I won't bother to go at all.
