Again I ask. Where are the nvram being sold

#1502 5 years ago

Power was definitely an issue down in Joe's area.

Quoted from jrio101:

The power is what blew the power board on the disabled Pirates. The working machine I had no issue with making the ramps around 1pm or so but the ACNC had really weak flippers all day. Played it twice and several tamp shots came up short a drained SDTM.

Back in the flea market area. Back wall. Can’t miss it.

#1505 5 years ago

Thanks.
Apparently I can miss it looked for a banner or sign all day yesterday.
Doh.

Are these legal anywhere in the north east anymore? Serious question.

Great day yesterday. Where else do you end up getting a couple of trough lights, a BSD Speaker Panel and Topper (seriously, those BSD Laseriffic 3-d toppers at Tilt Graphics are a REALLY good price at $150), a kahr board, a PVC-Pipe Leg Cleaner, a used-but-perfect motorcycle ramp for a T2 (the ONE ramp I needed) for a steal AND get to do a car-to-car Johnny Mnemonic transfer in the lot at 9:15 at night?

But the highlight? Being given a gallon of White Vinegar from an Allentown local (not there for the show) who randomly had a car full of them while having tailgate beers with @jeffc. Random.

What is a pvc-pipe leg cleaner?

#1510 5 years ago
Quoted from shlockdoc:

What is a pvc-pipe leg cleaner?

Fill with 2 legs at a time and to the top with a gallon of evapo-rust for 24 hours. Seal and sit. Legs come out shiny as new. Can reuse the evaporust a good 20 times.

You take a piece of pvc and a pvc end cap and glue them together. Put in the legs and fill with 5% acidity vinegar. Cleans the rust off the legs

#1512 5 years ago

I did not see that Avengers yesterday.

Flea market - see the pintech guy

#1514 5 years ago
Quoted from Skyemont:

I don't agree with this. TNA is fine. I think the power settings is turned down or factory.

Major power issues over there unfortunately... also tna dont have steep ramps and other things and is relativity a flat playfield in comparison.

#1515 5 years ago
Quoted from Whysnow:

Show needs more power... that whole side of games is lacking enough power, causing weak flippers

Wanted to meet you but never saw you.... next time i guess

#1516 5 years ago

Bought 10 Gottlieb NOS display glass from Kevin at Classic Pinball booth. Haven't seen these available at a show for a while so stocked up.

Thanks Kevin!

I was talking with a few friends at the show about the same thing. A few games I could understand having weak flippers, but there were dozens......due to too many games plugged in at once?

That is my guess. Old building and lots of games. Most pronounced on the prototype games (acnc, potc, nightmare xmas) which already have less power purposefully , i assume to keep shit from breaking under show stress.

Ialso notice on thurs during set up when only a handful of gae sbeing played then all wasgood. On friday when the public came the things changed quickly.

Did anyone buy that old 11 foot little ball bowler? Was in the booth next to dealer check in.

In the books, and a great time as usual.

Just some thoughts...

Most prices were on the moon and I didn't see any spacesuits. With the exception of the back right corner (Butch and Martian) I don't believe there were nearly as many sold pins as years past, at 3:30 Saturday, there was definitely no vibe of it in the free play area anyways.

There was a very cool Rock Makers EM I was crawling all over with a friend and talking to the seller about it, making an offer on it. Out of nowhere, there was a random guy that came and stuck his nose all up in it while we were looking it over, even started plugging it in and playing it. That was just rude.

Iron Maiden (first plays) Is a blast in a box, so fun.

Nightmare Before Christmas was a treat to play a ball on and see, it's really cool. He's got to get his flippers going better for that layout, but it's in a show environment, so he gets a pass.

I thought there was going to be a lot of good projects brought from a specific flea goer...that wasn't the case at all.

To the guy that gave me a large box filled with #44/555/89 new bulbs for $20, you're awesome.

To the outside guy in the flea market selling a 3k Taxi, telling me ''yeah but wait until you see the playfield'' as he's lifting the headbox up (the worst pop bumper wear I've personally seen and duct taped ramps) - Must have needed money for rocket fuel to get home...

The wings in the farmers market.

To the gas station I fueled up at just over the PA line that I randomly found and bought a cheap Getaway 2 from and brought for free play. (Yes this happened, and yes 5 full games will fit in a short bed Silverado-you make room)

The strong cat shit smell that lingered for hours Thursday night outside our block of rooms at the Ramada. (see pic? wtf)

The good friends and people I've associated with over the years, that stop and say kind things or shoot the breeze, including the OP of this thread, and Bob from Virginia, Kevin McHugh, Eric Bundy for the sweet deal on AC/DC Premium and his help, Brian (96stang) for all his endless help-pinball is family.

It was great to be back and always look forward to next year!

Thanks, James

nice score on that GW! Looks like no fade either? Cheap?

Quoted from delt31:

Decals were replaced and not the best. Playfield was very decent though and worked mostly with only minor fixes needed.

That’s the other shout out- to the guy that brought the Getaway that wasn’t for sale that had the light in the supercharger....that thing played amazingly. I set the grand champ on that with just over a billion and 14 loop record! That thing looped like a dream!

That Getaway played beautifully, Had a nice chat with another getaway owner sizing up his machine next to that one.

Thanks! That was my Getaway. I was wondering who got the GC score! I was watching and chatting with a guy who put in the last game on it before close on Saturday and he was crushing it but still didn't beat your score.

The light effect for the SuperCharger is done via a Pinduino. I love the red lights chasing the ball as it whips around! professorpinball developed and sells Pinduino (https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1025-professor-pinball/00514-pinduino-wpc-v03-) and is an all around great guy to boot.

My machine did well- it was down for a bit when a wire broke off the shooter solenoid; simple fix but unfortunately it happened right before my son was in the kids tournament finals so I had to wait until that was done to resolder it.

Awesome PinFest this year; had a blast!

Quoted from Mike_M:

Thanks! That was my Getaway.

I really loved playing your machine and talking to you at the end of the show about the led lights; thanks for bringing it.

I wanted to play your Indiana Jones but never could get a game in, that one looked great also.
