I'm really looking forward to being able to stay for more than just one day next year. Great show for 2017, but on more than one occasion, I had the owners of the machines literally turning the games off on me as I was playing because they were sold. Super Lame. On example was when I was playing a Bally Op-Pop-Pop, midday friday, when the owner approached me and said "Sorry, just sold it." And leaned over and flipped the game off. I didn't even get to finish my ball. Kinda left a sour taste in my mouth, but at least there's a gazillion other games to move onto.

A couple questions, as I’d like to bring a game this year:

—how much abuse does a game typically get on the show floor? I’ve brought games to York in the past, but I know Allentown is a different beast.

—Does Allentown allow people to bring in registered games early on Friday or even Saturday? I know York allows that flexibility for those who can only make certain days, but still want to participate. Does Allentown extend the same flexibility?

Thanks for the replies, gentlemen. I’m not so worried about coddling the games. Most of my games are firmly placed in the “players condition” bracket, and beg to be played more than they’ll ever get in my home.

I’m just always worried about burnt coils, or hard to obtain things like plastics breaking during the show.

I'll be looking for a Junk Yard. Let me know if you have one you're willing to sell!

Quoted from WonderMellon:

If (when) I decide to buy one, do I bring cash, or just do PayPal on the spot?

Cash. Definitely cash. Though, I can't see the harm to do a "friends and family" transfer on the spot. Biggest risk in Paypal would be convincing the seller you won't do a chargeback once you get the game, though I think that's not possible with friends and family. It might be overall safer than carrying a wad of cash in your car or pocket. I'd be curious to hear what others think of this.

This year’s show was great! Almost ran off with that Spooksville that was in the flea market, but the last thing I need right now is another project.

Seems like people were mostly courteous, but one thing that really drives me up a goddamn wall are people who play a 4 player game, even when it’s just them playing. Watched a guy shamelessly hit the start button 4 times on that beautiful Indiana Jones, even though there was a line behind him.

Oh well. Life’s too short to sweat the small stuff, and there’s a gazillion other games to play in the interim, but still...

Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

Hope everyone else had fun and got to enjoy Airborne.

Great game! Thanks for sharing it with us this year. I really like the left outlane kickback, and the wicked ramps. It’s a shame Capcom was entering the market at the wrong time. They had a lot of really creative ideas.

Quoted from Colsond3:

Who had the Spooksville? Didn't get a chance to see it. Do you know if it sold?

Wish I could tell you. It was being sold by the same gentleman who was selling all those EM tank shooter games in the flea market area.

I was looking at it around 3pm on Saturday, and it was still very much unsold at that time. He was asking $600.
