Quoted from yzfguy:
Was hoping for a hotel update, it's been quite a while
I drive by a few hotels on the way to the show
Quoted from cougtv:
I have had several inquiries about my pinball 2000 software.
I am offering a FREE use of my pub update cards to anyone willing to share their game in Free Play for at least 1 day of the festival.
I can update your RFM to 1.8 (requires ram upgrade) or 1.6
I can update your swe1 to 1.5
Thanks to boryguard I am getting ram upgrades for my games and some friends. I will hold off on giving them to my friends until after the show.
I will have at least one extra and can rob 2-3 and replace later if needed.
Ram upgrade cost $10 bucks, thanks to rob
Bring your pin 2k for free play and get the software upgraded to the last version ever made for free-$10 and all you have to do is share it with the community for 1 day! Sweet deal I think!
And by sharing in Freeplay you get free admission to the show!
Quoted from per3per3:
Anyone bringing any of the following in nice condition for sale:
- Tales from the Crypt
- Radical
- Baywatch
- Congo
- Black Rose
- Slugfest
- Bally Skill Roll
Please shoot me a pm if so
Thanks
Really debating bringing my black rose for sale. I really don't want to give it up. If I have space in the booth I may say screw it.
Quoted from pinballjah:
Think I asked the dame thing last year, where are the best poker rooms close to Allentown? Thanks.
Sands casino 15-20 Min away. Good room when I played more often. Any other casino is about 1 hour away & not as good
If anyone is looking to kick off Pinfest weekend with a Bon Jovi concert on Wednesday night I have 4 tickets to see them at the PPL Center in downtown Allentown. $200 each. That is below face value. Comes with parking pass. Willing to trade for pinball machine or pinball related items. Can add cash as needed.
Quoted from jrio101:
What is the best/fastest way around?
Get off at the Phillipsburg exit which is the last exit in New Jersey and take 22 right to 15th Street in PA. That may even be faster
Quoted from 1974DeltaQueen:
I wonder if I can get off exit 7 on 173 and pick up
22W and avoid that mess , sounds like exit 3 is already too late .
If you get off of the Bloomsbury exit where the gas stations are that road will turn into 22. Haven't been around the traffic but I think it's closer to the bridge where Exit 3 is still safe. Not sure if construction hours either. I went through there yesterday during the day and it was no problem
Anyone know how many pins fit in a 26 foot straight truck? Trying to plan our day tomorrow. Not sure if we're going to need one trip or two
Quoted from too-many-pins:
Fold down heads I think 24 to 27 if you load correctly - it all depends on wheel wells on the truck. You have to "stagger" one head forward one head back to get the most into the truck if you are working with fold down head machines.
Thanks Skip! It's a standard 26-foot Penske truck with a lift gate.
If anyone needs the address of the fairgrounds it is 1825 West Chew Street Allentown PA 18104.
I think some of the GPS sites get goofy when you put 17th and Chew
I also want to chime in & say thank you to all the people who came by to say hi! Some even thanked us for bringing the games that we did. Friday was CRAZY! Like Skip said, sometimes you find yourself having to cut conversations short that you want to have.
Last year we had 1 booth & this year we were going to do 2 and that morphed into 4 and a 26ft straight truck!
I can't thank Rich jiggly_martian & Nestor
dkeruza enough for everything they did. Unloading/setting up/breaking down/selling/talking to people about games & seeing people you haven't seen since the last show is a head spinning experience. These guys are GREAT friends who dragged their wives out (along with mine) to help out (we never did have time to get that group picture we wanted). It's a LOT of work that we got together in a true team fashion. Nestor only had 1 game to sell, yet was there for us like they were all his. Both guys covered me on Friday (by FAR the busiest day) when my wife & I had to leave to take Prom pictures with our daughter. THANKS GUYS!
Rob & Kim lermods it was a pleasure to be next to you again, as it was at the York show. I was glad to help you out with my DILE after your other show machine fell through. It was fate, because I was on the fence about selling it and wasn't going to bring it until you needed a game. I wouldn't have sold it if that GORGEOUS Scared Stiff that
robgo777 restored didn't come up. thanks Rob, it was nice meeting you & your wife. You guys did a GREAT job on it! That won't be leaving my collection anytime soon!
Thanks to all the people who bought games from us and to Ivan for putting the whole show together.
I was actually able to get more than 100 feet from our booth on Saturday & spend some $$$. I got a NGG topper, powder coated legs (surprised there were any left, they looked great!) I picked up may glass order, got parts ordered from Marco and I think I even played 2 freeplay games (ID4 & TOTAN) Congrats to the TOTAN buyer, I wanted that to put next to SS. If anyone had a really nice TOTAN I did bring a couple of games home I could trade..
Quoted from songofsixpence:
So, I'm already thinking about next year. My question to ivan1496 are we definitely on for 2019? I remember last year saying the Fairgrounds had to be booked a year in advance?
It is typically the first full weekend in May
