As far as NJ and NY go, I'll have to make sure I don't need gas leaving CT....

I'm planning on bring a custom HUO MI Pinball Refinery Edition of a Star Wars Premium for everyone to check out and it's also for sale. And possibly a custom HUO MMR with over $2k in upgrades will be for sale as well....

If you would like to check them out just stop by the CoinTaker booth. I'll be there. Or send me a PM and I'll gladly answer any questions that you have.

See everyone at Allentown,

Steve

We will have more alcohol at the Ramada. Skyemont got us covered like Saran Wrap.

No. Not walking distance.

Since setup is on Thursday, I’m curious why this event doesn’t open an hour or two earlier on Friday. The last 3 years, I have taken the day off to go. The show not opening until noon is a bit of a bummer. I have to leave in the afternoon to be home in time for my kids to get off the school bus. Seems like the show could open at 10am or 11am on Friday.

#764 5 years ago

I'm curious, who "screwed the pooch", or what happened to stop it?....I remember when they didn't care if people we're drinking outside, everyone had grills set up etc, was a fun escape from inside for a bit when the weather was nice. Then one year, BAM, inbreed on a golf cart with a Vendetta, dry campus....

Um... We've been drinking outside every year and never been bothered. I think the key is to not act like a tool

Yup, gotta improvise...Have your drink in a coffee mug!!

#768 5 years ago

Yes, I understand common sense...but remember when it was out in the open with no issues?

#769 5 years ago

Probably but I'm not certain, it's probably a fairgrounds policy of no alcohol on premises.

Yes it is....but wasn't enforced

By this time next week, I should be wandering around the free play area, arteries clogged and hung over, not wanting to even LOOK at another pinball machine for weeks. I look forward to the show every year, but post-Pinfest, I need recovery time: from drinking, from eating crap, from pinball in general!

It's all a matter of training. Get lit, eat greasy food, and play pinball every night between now and then. Once the show is over, keep up this schedule and next year will be easy.

. . if you don't die of a heart attack between now and then

I do come back with my kids later, but I live an hour away so it definitely takes some time away from the show.

If people get mad about hotel talk, imagine how mad they would be if we turned this into a gun thread?! That's interesting about the hollow points, I'm not currently legal to carry in PA anyway, but I plan on fixing that this trip. I was told it was easy with a MA LTC to get one in PA. As far as NJ and NY go, I'll have to make sure I don't need gas leaving CT....

I think gas is cheaper in NJ than in pa or ct.

Gas currently in ON Canada $3.93/gal

No man, You gotta go Stretch Wrap, this is a pinball thread.

Quoted from jesster64:

Only by a few cents if you stay on 78. Up a few miles on 57 it's 10 cents cheaper. I just paid 2.769 in Manchester, CT..

Quoted from Hammerhead:

yeah is that Canadian or US Currency? 3.93 Canadian translates to about 3.07 US.

Still better than the bed bugs at the Days Inn . Jeebus I’m glad I’m paying extra for bug free linens. BTW if Comfort has the strawberry waffle batter again AVOID IT.

You know Ivan wants lots of freeplay pins when he shows up to your house and loads them for you

Never saw this as an asset. Pain in the ass and can cause longer lines and wait times.

Gerry,

Glad to see ya got some help loading! Wayne & I can give you a hand unloading if you need a hand at the show.

As far as Ivan working hard to make the show great - nothing surprises me with Ivan and what he is willing to do to make the show better every year. I know some people sometimes have issues with some of the "rules" at the show but Ivan keeps doing his best to make the show even better year after year and I think we all owe him a big THANK YOU!

I agree, although if you ride a motorcycle you can pump your own gas.

The booze bus normally comes every year and gets by quietly. Sad to say we are not able to do the bus this year

edit: sold.

Anyone want to come over Wednesday and help me pull 2 games out of my basement?

For folks coming from/through Jersey and taking Route 78, note that there's a shitload of construction happening on 78 West just 2 miles on the NJ side of the toll plaza at the border. 3 lanes down to 1, and today on my way to the Sands in Bethlehem from NJ it added roughly 30 minutes to that one-way drive. No work on eastbound, but westbound, just before the Phillipsburg exit, is a freakin' nightmare.

What is the best/fastest way around?

Sounds like lane merges might be from 8PM to 5AM. Did you go through during the day or evening?

I-80, maybe?

Get off at the Phillipsburg exit which is the last exit in New Jersey and take 22 right to 15th Street in PA. That may even be faster
