Hmmm...Beer talk has me rethinking giving up on Pinfest (Pintastic has satisfied my need and 3.5hrs closer)....Also not on Mother's day weekend this year so, hmmm.... Wish you could drink at Pinfest like you can at Pintastic and did not have to deal with the "few chromosomes short of a happy meal" nitwit in the golf cart... There was a decent bar within walking distance of the show tho, large selection.

Quoted from ectobar:

Is there any official alcohol policy for the show? I had a brief encounter with the parking lot guy the one year, but he mostly left us alone. I heard others weren't so fortunate.
In the past I've just went with a Solo cup and no one has ever complained.

Zero tolerance enforced but a toothless being swirling the bottom of the gene pool drain....I saw people letting him search their vehicles, threatening a guy who was drinking a root beer bottle (could not read the bottle), and got in my face threatening to tow me for not allowing a search of my vehicle....I told him if my trunk openned, he was going in it.

Anyway, years ago they looked the other way and open container consumption of alcohol was "allowed". I'm assuming people took advantage of the situation and ruined it for everyone acting like idiots, littering, urinating in public, etc.

I thought I was crazy. I started this hobby almost 2 months ago and have 14 machines already. Pinfest is going to break the bank for me.lol

Wtf....May want to slow down a tad

Quoted from Electrocute:

Is pinfest like Walt Disney World or Busch Gardens. Can you buy a beer at the show?

Bring a bubba mug and refill it as you go (from your vehicle when the inbreed on the golf cart is not nearby)....

Ouch. Looked at the Taverns beer list. It is indeed legit. Oh well, not going there now.

My buddy and I walked there from the show two years ago, yes, smoking blew (our clothes wreaked when we left), but great beer selection. They had a local DIPA on tap for like $4/pint, don't remember the walk back to the show lol

#441 7 years ago

Just picked up a Wacky Gator (redemption) and could use a gator, pm me if you have one...Thanks

#450 7 years ago

I have a NOS Slugfest Topper that has residue from the paper backing stuck to it that would need to be removed. I tried and gave up years ago (did not try hard)... **SOLD**
Also have an incomplete NOS Stern Family Guy plastics set... (I know what a full set goes for but no clue on partial)

If interested, shoot me an offer...(Pickup in RI or at Pinfest)

Quoted from ejacques:

Hotels to avoid for PinFest?

Have stayed in the Comfort Suites and Holiday Inn that are next to each other, both good (Prefer Comfort as it's nicer) but both have been booked for a while. Try TripAdvisor to check out the others, I did, one was a sh#t hole from reviews, but forgot which one it was.

Probably would not advise anything close to the show after noticing the Gun Shot detection units mounted on the telephone poles nearby

#749 7 years ago

Doh! I booked the wrong hotel....Wanted Holiday Inn, but booked Comfort...I like the breakfast at Hol Inn and rooms are better...O well ..Saw higher price and "assumed" that was better one.

#762 7 years ago
Quoted from emkay:

Eighty smackers got me a room at the Ramada. Comfort Inn and Holiday Express both were all booked up.
Now I just have to figure out how to slip a hit of acid into Todd Tuckey's coffee.

Just checked Trip advisor...Good luck!

Still on the lookout for: Bally "Beauty" bingo BG...

I'm guessing it's too late to cancel hotel reservations, correct? (Guessing last Friday would be cutoff)

I don't recommend bringing your wife, significant other here....Mine has pointed out so much in this hotel room that I normally ignore on a "guys trip" that I'm ready to sleep in the car....Sigh....

Quoted from djreddog:Thankfully my girlfriend is on the other side of the fence. I'm sitting in a meeting today and she sent me a text "I'm looking forward to tomorrow, can't wait!!" I just smiled.
She was also going to PAPA this year with me and got the flu 4 days prior and she was thoroughly bummed she missed it.

Yea, our water is brown, room smells like a casino...floor has not been vacuumed in, what appears to be years...stains all over everything, front of tub fell off (had to shove it back on), caulking on tub is three colors of mold, paper towel frozen in fridge, and mysterious bites on my arm that I'm hoping are not what I think they are.....

#1824 6 years ago
Quoted from jibmums:

Please please tell me you're not staying at the Comfort Suites

Want me to lie? Told the wife to suck it up and drink, like me....It's a two star hotel, not a five star resort.....O, and supermarkets sell beer now down here! Good selection at Weis

#1880 6 years ago
Quoted from DRDAVE:

Yikes!! Where are you staying? The ramada?

No, Comfort Suites....just changed rooms, new one is MUCH better.... Original one looked like it should be rented by the hour, very run down and Complete science experiment...And new one does not have the huge moldy defunct Whirlpool tub!

Anyone wants great food and brews, not that far from show... Awesome joint!

Good show... project machines in flea market we're over priced, as were most games in general ($1k for a freakin Contra, Was a kilo of coke inside?) Anyway....great selection for free play, vendors were great, did not see as many creepers as usual...But, great show overall, and toothless the DNA reject was no where to be seen on his golf cart....A +

#2045 6 years ago
Quoted from dmbjunky:

11 hour drive to get there but I wasn't disappointed. I love the flea market.
I texted this sign to my parents and my mom wanted (because she collects chicken stuff you pervs).
I didn't get play Houdini but it looks awesome. The animations were amazing. I did get to play Aerosmith. It was OK but maybe the sound makes it better. I didn't like how the toy box lid would drop and it would launch the into the Jester.
Best games I played were:

Stern Freefall
I really enjoyed it a lot. I didn't stop playing until a switch started shorting out. Ted came by to watch and I would have liked to say hi but the skydivers went into free fall.

Dave Mutrando had these two games for sale and they were really fun. I'm glad I didn't bring a proper vehicle or I might have taken one home.
There was also a Minizag, Ice Fever, and Bad Girls that I also enjoyed.
I chatted with Lighted Pinball Mods for a long time. It sounded like he had quite the experience getting to where he is now. A lot of work involved in making each panel. I will be buying his BSD speaker panel kit.
Also thanks to #Stratman for ensuring my car didn't go home empty.

And it was nice meeting #luvthatapex2

There was a Chicken Cock sign and I missed it???!!!! Crap! I'm one of the "pervs" that looks for suggestive crap....Got a cool beyond "patina" "Cold Beer" thermometer sign, no kinky stuff...Still love my girl banging dude pinball sign from a few years ago..Bumper thumper zone I think..

#2155 6 years ago
Quoted from 1974DeltaQueen:

My partner in the flea had that sign, ask was 100, he let it go for 75. Hope your little one enjoyed the brownie, you've got a real nice family thing going on man.

Yes, excellent job with the brownies, daughter and wife loved it! Thanks again

#2257 6 years ago
Quoted from shacklersrevenge:

my friend took a picture with that sign, lol, too much.

Well, how appropriate that I'm in the "Chicken Cock" pic lol....What are the chances.. Nice sign!

Quoted from spiroagnew:

Thanks to the Pinfest volunteers! Great show this year, as always. Security, or "security", was kicked up a notch, to the point of being interrupted during a game to show my wristband. The exhibitor desk at the back was more organized and strict than it has been in years, which is a good thing to keep things fair for everyone. There was no shortage of project games for sale at the show for the "handyman"--prices did reflect the ever-shrinking pool of fixer-uppers available nowadays. My GTB 2001 sold early (the one with cabinet art...not the white-washed one), which allowed me to do some spending. I brought home a fully working Harlem Globetrotters (finally!) and a Big Game (one of two Big Games hauled home in Drano's U-Haul. HGT was promptly set up in the hotel room. I overdid it with the merriment on Thursday night after setup, but after a couple of pretzel wraps, I was back up and running for the rest of the weekend. We stayed at the Comfort Suites Dorney Park, as we do every year, and I must say, the hotel has really taken a noticeable turn for the worse (despite a freshly installed pool). I've stayed there five years in a row--maybe the rooms have always been dingy and smelt like a witch's ditch? It finally got to me this year. Front desk service was also a mess. Will have to rethink my accommodations next year. Maybe I'll just sleep in the U-Haul.
Despite that, Allentown Pinfest didn't disappoint. See y'all next year!

Hope you did not get room #212, AKA, "The Land that Time Forgot" (Thank God front desk hooked us up with a MUCH better room)

#2342 6 years ago

Anyone else notice she had an empty holster on her duty belt? Figured she forgot something in the shitter...

#2437 6 years ago

Yea, if I return to Pinfest, I will not be returning to Comfort....They did move us from the room that time forgot, and our second room was fine (Did have to rip the shelves out of one mini-fridge and install in second one, and neither room appeared to have witnessed any sense of a vacuum in at least ten years) but they were running off of pad and paper (I think that room is empty, hold on...yea its empty....wait, maybe not...No, its...wait.....yea, you should be fine).....Walls were a tad thin as I think the guy next door failed to heed the warnings and must have eaten at the show, as there was one hell of an explosive sh$t storm going on in there.... The breakfast was decent (Just avoid the eggs that were sitting for a while as they oddly tasted like salmon...
