I have a IJ in near mint shape and a JP that is a great players example if anyone's interested.

Quoted from Ranhorton:

Also considering bringing either my 1980 Gottlieb Counterforce or my Theatre of Magic.
Counterforce-
Plays perfectly, all bulbs switched to LEDs, Swemmer CPU board, Wi-numph driver board (40-pin ribbon cable interconnect between the two boards).
Only issue is a couple playfield bulbs aren't lighting 100%. Could be a ground issue? I haven't done any ground mods.
ToM-
Full topside/bottom side shop job (new rubber/coil sleeves/switches/etc). Full LEDs (Comet). Pinball Pro speakers/woofer. New Leon trunk board. Aluminum interrupter. Tiger saw mod (uninstalled). Lots and lots more.
PM with any questions.
-Ran

Counterforce rarely surfaces. I'd like to put a few games on that one if you end up bringing it. As for the bulb issue, it could be a flaky socket. Try replacing one and see if that gets you anywhere.

But, obviously, TOM is a much more popular title, so I image it will get a lot more plays if you brought it to the show.

It should be illegal to sell an IJ as nice as that. It's my grail game...and that one's a beauty! (As is the JP...)

GLWTS!

Anyone have a TWD pro their looking to get rid of? PM me.

I would like to play the Counterforce as well. It has a unique rule set. You said that you haven't done the ground modifications recommended for the system 80 games. I suggest doing that and replacing the socket. The game not being grounded may the cause of why the socket went bad, and may cause more issues down the road.

Quoted from Hammerhead:

What happened to speaking about pinball?
Looking for:
- Qbert's Quest
- Gottlieb Atlantis
- BTTF PF & ramps (good condition candidates for swap)

I have a friend in Baltimore MD who has an Atlantis that he'd be willing to sell. Not sure if you are willing to go that far though and i'm not sure if he plans on attending the show.

Sent PM about the JP.

There's gonna be a pretty cool announcement coming if you're interested in Playfield Protectors https://www.playfield-protectors.com/

Yeah... I know...an announcement about an announcement. I hate those also...but this one would save ya some cash if you plan on ordering...and are heading to Atown

Details will be available in a few days. You'll be able to pre-order protectors from the site at a special show discount...and pick them up FREE at Allentown!

The shipping alone will save you about $50 on top of the special show discount to be offered. There will probably be bigger discounts for multiple protectors (quantity +3) and a few of the more popular ones available for sale.

If you wish to PM me.. and I'll pass the info and promo code alone when it becomes available.

Ivan just posted the floor plans. We'll be in booth 14 (back of the flea market room).
The countdown is on! Just 6 weeks away. PS, happy to see that Bob Adams will be back at the show. It's been a long time.

Looking for a Stern IJ. Banging this drum again while plans are being made.

#416 7 years ago

Can't wait for Pinfest and looking to bring home the following...

- NOS or nice original Haunted House backglass, playfields or plastics

- Gottlieb Wedge Head EM: I have a space < 70" height that can fit an EM and would love to find a nice wedge head. El Dorado is one I'd be interested in but open to other titles too

I'm local to the show, so this offer stands beyond that weekend. If anyone has any of the following they eventually want to part with, hit me up!

Indoor flea market is pretty much sold out. Plenty still available outside for now. Vendor space only has a few spaces available. If you are interested in being a vendor please let me know. If you are planning on bringing a game for free play please register ASAP. We would like to manage the free play area and reduce the confusion from the last minute entries.

See you soon!

Ivan,

Great to hear you are getting everything filled up. I love seeing promoters doing well - that ensures shows will live on. I know how much work doing something like one of these shows is and regardless of how much money a promoter makes it isn't enough for the risk & work involved.

Thanks for putting me in the same flea market space again this year! I love that area and have gotten to know all the neighbors fairly well also.

Best of luck with everything - keep up the great work!

I have a very rare Gottlieb Challenger I could bring for trade if a deal is made in advance. Looking for games on my want list or another very rare pin. Would also consider a Funhouse in trade. My challenger is shopped and working as it should. I can take pics and send video to serious parties. Thanks. Lee in Ottawa.

Anyone have a stern Stars they bring there for me to buy ?

#424 7 years ago
Quoted from stefallica:

Hi , can i have any suggestions on where i can go eat good wings, beers and watch a game in a 30 miles radius of allentown ? A nice sports bar ?
Thx
Also looking for a very nice Cleopatra or Space Station.

I grew up a few blocks from the Fairgrounds so I know what's up. There many good options right in the neighborhood. Avoid downtown Allentown.

I highly recommend Ringers Roost on 18th and Liberty just a block from the show. Good food and a good selection of Pennsylvania craft beers.

http://www.ringersroost1801.com/home/

Volpes Sport Bar is also a good local place with a ton of TVs but it can get smokey.

The Tavern on Liberty is your best chance to try some rarer craft beers

You can still smoke in bars/pubs? Where I live smoking inside has been outlawed for 10+ years and in 2012 the city outlawed smoking on bar patio's outside too! LOL

I think he meant the "smoke" from their beer farts.

lol

Yep. Both Voples and The Tavern on Liberty allow smoking.

I was just sitting here looking at the indoor flea market map and realized those of us that go to the Allentown Show have forgotten how lucky we are to have that show here in PA. 7 or 8 years ago the entire show was in the side of the building the indoor flea market is in now. Talk about a HUGE change in a show over just a few years! At best guess I would say Allentown has doubled in size since Ivan took it over a few years ago and I must say WELL DONE IVAN!

I had just started in the pinball hobby shortly before Ivan took over Allentown and I remembered going to the Allentown show for the fist time when it was in the smaller side of the building. The outdoor flea market was great but inside the show hall was very crowded so I spent very little time inside. Now most flea market dealers have the advantage of not having to worry about the weather and the show hall has some elbow room. I can wait to see where things go over the next 4 or 5 years - hopefully the outdoor flea market will continue to grow and make the show even better!

Thanks to Ivan & his crew for doing a great job and you guys that don't want to follow the rules please realize Ivan is just doing what needs to be done to keep the show great. Moving machines out early is bad for the show so please try to consider the long term impact of those actions before attempting to remove machines ahead of time. And if you do need to move a machine out early please do it the way it is suppose to be done. I know a lot of Ivan's guys put up with a lot of BS last year over this and it isn't fair to them. Rules are in place for a reason and need to be enforced for a show to run smoothly.

I've had several Pinsiders contact me about picking up parts are the show. Here's a chance to get them for no shipping charge.

Here's my current parts flyer. Everything is in stock.

You can PM or email me with your orders and I will add you to the list. All I will need in addition to your order is your name, dates you plan to be at the show, and phone # to contact you. You can pay in advance via PayPal or cash at the show.

See you at the show!

I know Rob does not post this a lot publicly but he will share it with you privately, during this time of year he contributes profits to some exceptional charities when you buy one of his products. He is a good man be sure to stop by his booth and support him and talk with him about his Charities. I love that as a small business he ties this together!
