Quoted from tomh52722:

Congrats to whoever bought the pitch and bat machine in the back. My son and I played that so many times and has a blast. I am definitely in the market for one!

I restored a Williams Official Baseball and brought it to the show a couple of years ago.
It got a ton of play. Don't think it stopped all weekend.
The show staff was even nice enough to place a step stool under it. Big hit with the kids!

Quoted from knockerlover:

We got kicked out on Saturday night by a super cool security guard, although he was about 90 and had just had surgery on his hands and told us that they were basically useless. I did wonder what he would do in case of a "situation".

He's not a security guard, he's a security monitor.

Great score, (pun), there Steven!

It was my pleasure to introduce myself and say hello to you in the flea market area, Saturday around 1:30PM or so....
(I was the guy in the red Pinburgh shirt).

I'm hoping maybe this great game you got at Allentown, will find its way to York in the Fall - I for one would sure love to play this title, especially in such great condition!

As I mentioned, thanks for bringing the Skyrocket, and thanks as always for the great classic EMs you bring to York!

#2354 6 years ago
Quoted from DRDAVE:

Sweet museum piece! Even more miraculous that the original battery hasn't leaked! Great score!

The first thing I did was to remove that battery.

Quoted from Otaku:

Brought this beauty home, among others - stretched my dollar! All original CQ 1977 Gottlieb Team One in great condition. Add-a-ball version of 1975 Abra Ca Dabra. Really happy about it. I don't often whistle at pinball machines, but damn. (Scratches seen with a good eye are in the playfield glass not the playfield)

Team One is a great game and that one looked so sweet. Nice work on the purchase.

I'm having a ridiculous amount of fun with the Mario Andretti I picked up at the show. Some minor tweaks and a few new bulbs and it's playing like a champ. For a supposed turd, my kids and I sure are having a great time with it.

Was it this one or a different pitch and bat ? I bought this one and love it. Christian Marche art and unique style (Formica playfield). Has some unique features detailed here: http://www.pinrepair.com/baseball/fastbal.htm

If it wasn't that one, pardon the interruption.

Here is a picture of the one I was talking about. The one you bought caught my eye too, but I saw it getting wheeled out before I had a chance to play it. Congratulations on the purchase - it looks nice.

Loved that Team One! Great purchase - hopefully you've got it jacked-up a bit more so it plays faster, was a little sluggish at A-town.

That one looks quite nice too and I like the horizontal animation a bit better. But really like the art in mine. They are really fun regardless which is why they made so many different versions. We took it early because it quit working and wouldn't start anymore.

I played that and it was pretty good. I should have played it some more but the people next to me wanted to play it. They were watching me the whole time.

A buddy of mine bought the HG in the freeplay area that was missing all the parts. The seller said he had forgotten all the parts and would be shipping them out to the new owner as soon as he got home. He offered him 750 but ended up at 850 the head was still in the hall and the cab was on his trailer he said he didnt want to take it home.

No need to jack up, just add a power ball. Problem solved.

Hi-tap will do wonders for a gottlieb EM.

I have one of these and I'm dying to get rid of it. I don't know why but I find Team One to be a terrible game - it's just too easy no matter how many balls you put it on (once you light WOW your game will pretty much last forever), and I tried the novelty setting but it's kind of stupid.

But 1st is York!!

Quoted from poppapin:

But 1st is York!!

I started a post about York a couple days ago but it isn't getting much action yet. Allentown is over and what a great show it was but now it is time to start planning for and talking about York. And for anyone north east don't forget about Gabe & Pintastic in July.

#2369 6 years ago

First is Pintastic in less than 60 days

#2370 6 years ago
Quoted from dannunz:

First is Pintastic in less than 60 days

Pintastic is a great show and Gabe & his crew have worked very hard to make it something very special. Sadly it is just a little too far away for me to justify the trip to set up but I might drive up just to enjoy the show if I can find the time. I just wish it was even a couple hours closer to home but such is life!

#2371 6 years ago

If I lived in California, I'd fly out to Pintastic. It's THAT good...and it's quickly growing into the TPF of the northeast.

#2372 6 years ago
Quoted from JeffF:

Looks great in your game room. So much so I just kicked myself in the head for getting rid of it. Enjoy!

Am I the only pinsider who isn't double-jointed?

#2374 6 years ago
Quoted from Colsond3:

I've kicked myself in the head several times after getting rid of certain games...know the feeling. Like I said, if I ever decide to move it (not likely at all...at least for a while), you definitely have first dibs if you want it back then.

Of course, I'm not at all surprised that high-energy Colson is double-jointed. He's a vampire, ya' know.

My feeling as well. Plus there's a little town called New York along the route between here and Sturbridge that makes the trip very unpredictable and generally unpleasant to drive. York is next for me.

I just passed up a nice Monster Bash in Long Island. I work in S Philadelphia. The City traffic sucks It changes all my plans because of it.

I hear ya, but from here Allentown would be the midpoint in the trek. It was a tough drive last year - especially on the way home... 3 days at a show like that doesn't really rest one up for a long road trip! Considered flying ($82 each way direct from BWI) this year but it really doesn't help that much. Like Skip, I'm just location-disadvantaged for your show. Too far to drive; too close to fly.

Here's a few games from Pinfest, a couple of seldom-seen EMs, Dialed In!, Alien and 3 photos of the Houdini playfield (with the glass removed).

I've lived in NY and I've lived in the DC area, and the traffic (and driving) around you is far worse. If you're worried about traffic, cut across the Potomac to Frederick, drive to Harrisburg, then take 81 to 78 to 287N to the Tappan Zee bridge, cross the bridge, take 684 to 84 and you're there. Very little traffic--only the TZ bridge if you hit rush hour.

that's what i was thinking. either that or train, but i don't think there's a station in sturbridge. then i thought, how do i get a game home? gotta drive...

Vic_Camp and jrpinball sitting on what can be dubbed BIG BEN-ch. An empty Williams Big Ben cabinet doubled as a great multi-person seat/bench amidst the rows of Pinfest.

You can easily avoid going through New York. Don't take NJ Tpk, I-95 or I-80 toward the GWB and the dreaded Cross Bronx "Expressway". Pick up I-287 or the Garden State Parkway and either take I-87 over the Tappan Zee Bridge, then I-287 to I-684 to I-84 into CT and all the way to Sturbridge, or you can take I-87 (NY State Thruway) north to I-84 east, up to Sturbridge. You can even pick up the Palisades Interstate Parkway just before the GWB, and take it up to I-87 south, over the Tappan Zee Bridge, then I-287, I-684 and I-84 to Sturbridge.
If you're coming from central PA, take I-81 to Scranton, and pick up I-84 all the way to the end (Sturbridge). My buddy "Dono" from MD had a nightmare getting there last year because he stayed on I-95. This time, I'm going to send him around that mess, and it will likely shave two hours or more from his trip. I avoid I-95 between Fort Lee, NJ and New Haven, CT like the plague. It's one of the worst drives in the country.

That's the way I drive to Allentown every time I go. No GW for me EVER!

I played Pistol Poker last year at Pinfest and loved it so much I bought one. It's one of those pins I doubt will be leaving my collection.

I played it for the first time in Allentown this year. I liked it so much I bought it!

After we realized we were on the wrong path back, and too far to detour to the TZ, My friend/passenger offered to pickup the tab at the GW.
Suburban pulling a 2 axle trailer=$50 later. God damn...

They jack you up for $15 for just a passenger car. TZB is $5.00, but only "toll by mail" or EZ Pass. Beacon-Newburgh bridge (I-84) is only $1.50 for a car.
BTW, the Mass Pike no longer accepts cash tolls. They will send you a bill, usually late, with additional charges tacked on. A total scam if you ask me. I recently paid over $25 for about $5.00 in actual tolls. They claimed they never received my payment, even though I can prove they did. My company pays my tolls, so I didn't pursue it.

Do they accept EZ PASS on the Mass Pike?

#2396 6 years ago

Next up for me is Pinfest 2018!

#2397 6 years ago

I went for the first time this year. I been wanting to go for about 5 years. Had a great time, got some parts I needed so I saved on shipping.

Lines for games were crazy at some times but everyone was very respectful that I encountered. A couple games had really weak flippers which was a bummer.

Next year I plan on going Friday and bringing a lot of cash. There were some good deals I wish I could have gotten. The only thing I didn't like is that a lot of people packed up around 5 on Saturday which is fine I know it's a drive and a process for some people but I saw the show hours till 8 and I didn't arrive till 3 so I learned for next year.

Great time and thanks for everyone who brought games to play

Yes they do. I use mine all the time when visiting family up there.

I'm not sure, but coming from Walden, NY, you don't need to get on the MA Tpk to get to Sturbridge. I-84 all the way to the very last exit, US route 20 west.

#2400 6 years ago
Quoted from gac:

I've been delightfully surprised how far away EZ-PASS is supported. Apparently they even have it down in Texas (my girlfriend's state - great place to visit, love it so much), but it isn't as much of a religion down there like it is up here and is pretty unnecessary because there isn't a toll plaza every 20 miles... (maybe it's just an NJ thing)
