Highest scoring opportunities are building the vortex shot up to 10x (besides a crazy high solar value). I believe if you collect it during MB it's 100k x 10x x 2x for for a possible 2M point shot. The planets are worth 20k a piece in bonus, so while a cool idea/feature to progress through . . . somewhat worthless points wise.
