Hello, I've just recently purchased a Williams Pinbot and I'm working on restoring it. I just got the board back from Lenny's and powered it up. I will add to this thread as I move forward in hopes of receiving some good advice from you Pinbot Guru's!

First, thing I need to get are the displays working. When I plug in the machine after installing the board... the machine powers up but no displays. Which of course means no menu. I do have a new display board and 4 new displays. However, I wanted to be sure before switching them... that the original ones I have are the issue. I'm not sure how to test. Any advice on that would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I'm in need of the ramp which lifts on the left. Anyone that has an extra one they can part with please let me know. The one I have was corroded and although I have recut some thin blue steel for new ramps and I have the plastic. I need to reassemble/re-rivet it.

Thanks for any and all input... Randall

Hi Randall. Do you have a voltmeter or digital multimeter and know how to use it? The first thing is to check DC voltage supplies to the displays. You should have about +100 VDC at pin 4 of 4J11 on your display board, pin 3 should be around -100 VDC, and pin 6 is +5 VDC (ground is pin 1). Check fuse F1 on the power supply board. If any of the high voltages are missing check at the power supply connector 3J5 - pin 4 is the +100 VDC and pin 3 is -100 VDC.

Also check the display data ribbon cable connectors on each end, make sure the striped side of the ribbon cable is on pin 1 and that it has been installed correctly (not off by a pin, for example)

That should be enough to get you started, let us know your results.
