This topic has been hashed out before on original pins but I need some educated opinions to get an idea of what the value would be on a Pinbot with a restored playfield on it?
The rest of the pin is 8.5-9 with a cabinet and backbox re-paint done a couple of years ago and showing nicely. No game issues but has a little hard to see damage to the visor and the tip of the vortex is chipped off.
Thanks

#1546 6 years ago

Thanks, for the responses. I rate pins on the tough side with a 10 being still in the cardboard and a 9-9.5 being home use only and little to no wear.
The playfeild is gorgeous and clear coated and was $900 by its self I'm told.

So 2 to 2.5K is in the ballpark

Thanks again

#1548 6 years ago

I totally agree. The amount of labor is extreme to switch out a playfield.

I posted on the forum before but thought I would make my ownership official and ask to join the club.

I picked up my Pinbot this spring for $400 and a 4 hour drive,(definitely well worth it). Unfortunately the Playfield has been re-painted poorly and beyond my abililities to correct.
The cabinet has normal wear for its age but mechanically very sound with everything under the playfield working properly. It had light corrosion on the CPU main board and was causing intermittent problems during game play. I sent the board to Chris Hibler to be serviced, the corrosion addressed and a VRAM installed. The player 4 display was nearly gassed out and I acquired a replacement from Big Daddy's and un-soldered and re-soldered the new one in. I also had a bad trace on the master display board that was causing the d segments to not light up on both the 3rd and 4th player displays but was able to fix that myself.
In the meantime I heard there was a gold CPR playfield stashed away but available on Goggle groups. I had this confirmed by another Pinsider who was nice enough to give me the seller’s name. I purchased the playfield from him as well as a set of CPR replacement plastics from Larry at Starship Fantasy.
My visor is badly damaged and partially melted but I was lucky enough to score a replacement off a parted out Jackpot and now only need the correct decal for it.
Funny thing, I seriously thought about selling this game over the summer because I picked up several more projects and my shop is full. I even offered it to another pinsider but the Pinbot is just to cool and I don’t know when I’ll have another opportunity to do this game again.

I’d like to give a shout out to Vid for his rotisserie plans. This is the second pinball playfield I’ve used it on and they work great.
Lastly to cosmokramer and Plumonium for their well documented Pinbot restorations that have helped me out all ready.

Here we go, T-nuts installed…

Quoted from Plumonium:

Nice one! Pretty playfield! I know Stu was asking an arm and leg for his remaining 2 Gold. At least you had a good deal on the original game.
Enjoy your game!

Thanks. I don't mind throwing a little money at these games but the numbers have to be there when you're going this deep at least for me anyways.

Thoroughly enjoyed your restoration and hope to emulate it.

After buying a visor decal for my restoration from a known pinball parts vender and it arriving no where close (wrong colors, wrong shade of blue) to the original decal. I paid a local graphics shop to create one for me. Their minimum was 12 I’m going to keep 2 and will sell the remaining 10 if some other pinbot owner’s are interested let me know and I’ll get a list going.
$15 PayPal shipped USPS with tracking. PM me if you would like one?

Looks like Jackbot?

#1976 6 years ago

Visor decal’s will ship tomorrow morning and I’ve PMd all the buyers their individual tracking numbers.
I still have a few decal’s left if you’re wanting to freshen up your Pinbot’s visor. Buy one here before I list them on eBay
Here is my visor with it’s original decal to compare the new ones against

Thanks

Got my visor decal in the mail today - really nice packing job, Waruski. I appreciated that.

Glad to hear you’re pleased and good luck with your restoration.

If a member has a scan of the helmet sticker I’ll work on it and have them made.
PM me for an email address to send it if you do.

#2018 6 years ago

I’m working on a helmet decal same product as the visor decals I’ve had available. No ETA on when they might be available at this point but it looks promising

#2052 6 years ago

I have been working with Impzilla on a helmet decal from scans he provided. After mailing him one and keeping another for my Pinbot I have 10 left available. They are Orajet vinyl same material as the visor decal I offered awhile back and include the space shuttle over the vortex ramp as well. I've included a picture of my original faded decal with heat blisters and all to compare to.
Per the printer they will need to be cut to size then applied. Once they have adhered trim the excess around the acrylic edge with a fresh razor blade. This product works great with water and a drop of dish washing soap so you can adjust it to where you like. Then carefully squeegee any air bubbles if you have them.

Because of their size they have to be shipped in a poster tube and will go via USPS with tracking for $25 Send me a PM if you would like one for your Pin

I believe there was little uniformity on the size of the helmets and each one was slightly different than the next. That would explain the overhang on yours. I have also seen two different color patterns for the decal and there may be a third.
I’m only speculating on the sizes so if anyone knows for sure I would also be curious

Looks sharp! Speaker grill really sets it off

Thanks for the interest in the helmet and space shuttle decals. As of this morning the ones sold have been shipped and I have sent PMs with tracking numbers to the buyers.
I have 3 decal sets left available if a member/owner would like one

Thanks

If you haven't already constructed one, Vid's rotisserie makes working on either side of your playfiled sooooo much easier. Just make sure you clearly mark your connectors before you un-plug them and remove the playfield from the cabinet. There is only 6 connectors and the field lifts right out. Get an extra set of hands to help if you can.

The picture above was taken early in the summer before I started my playfield swap. The old playfield is nearly striped as I slowly populate the new one. However here is a crop of a picture I took before I started disassembly.

Hope it helps

Nicely done and extra points for doing the swap on a carpeted floor!

Thanks, but I need a picture of the left ramp switch underneath the playfield not the flipper coil.

My Bad... it's early. let me see what I have

I only have this overhead shot of the assembly. Maybe it will help

Correct, the pin at the bottom of #1 that goes through #3 and 4# activates the switch as it raises and lowers

Got you covered. Great Plains sells a kit

I believe Part Number W711A-PEC-KIT is what you would want. Please correct me if I’m wrong on this.
