Quoted from TZpinboter:

Working on the bottom of the playfield in the upright position is so awkward. I know I could unplug all the connectors and totally remove it but is there a other way? Sure would be nice to lift it up from the brackets and turn it around underside up on the flat without disconnecting connectors. Anyone ever tried that?

I don't believe that there would be enough slack in the cables.

Does anyone else have trouble removing their backglass? The lock is definitely not the problem, but the last couple of times I've take the BG out, It's almost like the opening isn't tall enough - I can't get it up quite high enough to swing out without applying pressure (a thing I do NOT want to do, of course).

Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

Quoted from paynemic:

Speaker panel not fully seated? Does that even apply to pinbot? I've had something similar in my DMD machines.

Hmm. It looks OK from the front, but now that you say that, I haven't tried pulling it off to have a look. Given the general disrepair on this machine, I could certainly believe that it's not on right.

Ugh. The speaker panel on PinBot isn't slid onto brackets like later systems - it's got a couple of L brackets at the corners and it's screwed on. I had a good look at it, and it doesn't appear to be incorrect in any way.

I may have figured the problem out - there' s a couple of pieces of wood on the ceiling of backbox (near the lock). I'm now suspecting that the backglass is leaning back a bit at the top, and hitting those, making it hard to remove. I was able to get the glass in and out today no problem, so I'm not sure yet.

On the plus side, I got it working well enough that the wife could play a game. Still have to level it properly and then we'll see how it does.

Quoted from AudioHaven:

I asked this in the Jack*Bot thread, but wanted to ask here as well.
If you own Pin*Bot, would it be too redundant to own Jack*Bot (or vice versa) in a relatively small collection?

Having both seems terribly redundant to me. If you've got a small collection, I'd want some variety, rather than replication.

But, if you love them both, it's your collection, do what you want!

Impressive to find them, but not surprising that they exist. Every non-trivial piece of software is broken in someway or other.
