I just replaced the 24V flashers in the visor with these LED Bulbs: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2Pcs-LED-Car-Bulb-1156-S25-Ba15s-P21W-7443-7440-T20-27SMD-27-SMD-5050-Backup/32591289278.html

Nice tall towers that just fit and look quite nice. If anyone is looking, I recommend these. Note: I had to switch the wires on 3 of the 4 sockets to get them to work (orange wire goes to the top tab when look at the back of them.)

Quoted from WhiskeyTango:

I'm actually looking for something a little more compact like this:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/High-quality-24V-BA15S-truck-led-1156-24v-led-goods-van-lamp-BAU15S-PY21W-truck-24v/32655409683.html
Ideally you could use the smaller bulb and replace all the 1251s including behind the backglass.

Those would work well in the backglass, but for the playfield, I wanted something with side mounted LEDs for more spread of light. In fact, for the backbox, I used these: ebay.com link: 1156 13 SMD 5050 LED BA15S Car Auto Backup Fog Signal Tail Rear 24V Durable YU

They work very well for lighting up the face.

Quoted from Darscot:

I stuck with 1251 incandescents in the 6 spots that use them. If I do switch them to LEDs is it worth it to buy the expensive LEDs from cointaker or just solder in the resistors?

You can easily order 24V LED bulbs with a BA15s base. Used in many car applications: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2

Make sure the base as one contact.

Here is a link to the once I ordered from AliExpress (which I really like, but takes a while to arrive from China): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2Pcs-LED-Car-Lights-Bulb-1156-S25-Ba15s-27SMD-27-SMD-5050-Backup-Signal-Blinker-Tail/32591289278.html

Quoted from vec-tor:

\Also, the game came with two 2" spacers that were attached to the back leg feet
that raised the game to a steeper slope than regular games at that time.

Interesting! Mine has these and I wondered why they were there. Figured someone put them on, not that they were put on at the factory.

Some pictures of the leg spacers on the back legs. Measure 2" high.

Bolts run through the tubes.

You need carpet cleats.
The metal feet will tear through the carpet.

Game is being borrowed for a while at a friends house (lyonsden "get people addicted to pinball by letting them borrow one" program). Carpets aren't mine, but I'll pass along that message.

Quoted from goingincirclez:

I basically came up with my own concept art, using clues dropped by Python (PinBot's Taxi cameo, primarily) to figure out what PinBot's "base" might have looked like, to fill the blank space in the panel (like I did with my Shuttle panel on the left). Going a step further, I slipped some colored paper behind the W's to keep that motif going as well.
Right now there is one panel available. I'm waiting on confirmation on another, if that falls through there will be a second available.

Nice work!

I recently ordered a new face plastic from MAD Amusements: http://mad-amusements.com/product.php?id_product=1971

I'm happy with the quality of it. Of course, it is MAD Amusements, so read up on their lack of international customer service (I ordered from EBay and didn't realize it was MAD).

#1959 6 years ago
Quoted from gweempose:

That may be true, but the question is, should one support a business that treats some customers so badly? I've ordered from MAD a handful of times, and I've never had a problem, but I'm not so sure I would want to give them any more business after reading about all the nightmares some people have had with them.

My thoughts exactly. I actually ordered it from EBay, not realizing it was from MAD. This was a plastic for which I've been looking for a while, and when I saw it on EBay, I bought it. I didn't realize it was from MAD until it arrived. High quality and well done piece, but wanted people to know it was from MAD.

Quoted from Pinball-Pat:

Does anyone have some spare 1251 LED flashers they’re able to sell/ship. I’m after 4 total. Cointaker has them, but shipping is $30 USD, pretty steep for a few blinks lights. Fire me a pm if you can help. Thanks guys

Your best bet for those with cheap/free shipping are EBay and AliExpress. You can easily find both 12V and 24V on those sites. However, do not use 12V in 24V circuits -- they will melt (personal experience.)

#1968 6 years ago

I've been running 24V that I purchased from AliExpress for well over a year with no problem. Cheap, easy, and almost plug and play. You need to cut the warming resistors to get the flasher to turn off.

I have developed a Pinduino board for System 11 games! This opens up another great era of games for interactive lighting (and other mods) controlled by the open source Pinduino platform. The first game I've developed code for is pinbot. Let me know what you think!

Code is available: https://github.com/elyons/professor_pinball_pinduino_sketches/blob/master/Pinbot/Pinbot.ino

Plug and play kits for Pinbot are for sale in my Pinside shop: https://pinside.com/pinball/market/shops/1025-professor-pinball/01860-pinduino-pinbot-interactive-lighting-for-the-ramps

I need to get one of those new ramps as this would look great on that!

Perfect timing, I just ordered one!

Thanks for the order!
